Kayne remained standing where he was as he watched Jess walk off to the kitchen, torn. He was fairly certain that she was upset, but he really wasn't sure what about. Looking to Ra and Obie, he held his hands out.
"What was that about? Who's Yuki?" he asked them.
Obie gave her a half smile in turn as she remembered that she and Ra didn't drink. At Kayne's questions, she glanced to Ra and dropped her eyes to Go in her lap.
"No one. I was just being silly," she said lamely with a small shrug.

Ra looked to Obie and then to kayne and shrugged. Okay, thiswas going to be beyond awkward and what could he say really. He couldn't tell the truth and it was more than obvious that Yuki wasn't no one.
Jess wiped her eyes in the kitchen and breathed deeply. She had sent Yuki a present but it had been returned to her. Now it sat at the top of her wardrobe. Waiting.
She took her time to make the tea and get the wine before returning to hand the glass to kayne and the mugs to be and Ra.
"There you go. Two teas and a two wines. Hopeyou don't mind if we down the bottle." shesaid, giving B a half smirk.

Kayne watched the couple exchange glances and breathed in deeply. Okay. Now he was just frustrated as it was more than obvious that Jess was upset and the three of them were keeping something from him. Who was this Yuki? Another bloody ex? He wondered as Jess came back in and handed him the glass of wine. Watching her for a moment, he slowly sank back down onto the sofa.
Obie smirked slightly and shook her head at Jess.
"I wouldn't. You know how you get when you're drunk," she said with a slight warning in her eyes. If Jess didn't want Kayne to know, it was best if she kept her wits about her, as it was more than obvious he wasn't entirely satisfied by her reply and Ra's lack of one. That, and the last thing she wanted was for Jess to drink her problems away. Such things never ended well.

Jess looked up at Obsidian's words and gave her a glare in return to her look. she wouldn't hsve to be on her guar if -someone- had kept their big mouth shut. keeping silent she downed her glass of wine and reached for the bottle to pour some more in.
"I can handle half a bottle of wine." She said irritably, sitting back against the sofa.
Ra smiled through the tension and looked to Jess's DVD collection.
"How about we watch a movie or something/" he asked in a cheerful voice, petting Go as he yelped at them.

Obie held Jess' eyes through the glare she was given and watched her down the glass and pour another. Swallowing a little, she blinked and looked to Ra with a small smile and nodded.
"That sounds like a great idea Ne-chan. Something funny," she said with a bit of a laugh as Go seemed to agree.
Kayne watched Jess carefully and sipped his own wine slowly. Leaning back, he reached out to slip his arm around her shoulders and looked up at Ra's suggestion. Obviously they were going to keep him in the dark, but he could wait. Once he and Jess were alone, she wouldn't be able to hide from him, he thought as he continued to sip his wine.
"Aye. Though maybe I should pick the movie out. You've got lousy taste Kusani," Kayne teased him.

Jess was still in a particularly foul mood as she brushed her teeth and pulled her nightclothes on. Clearing up could wait until the morning. She still could not believe B had just come out with that. She knew yuki was gone and she knew jess did not care to be reminded of the fact. Especially not when it came to birthdays.
Sighing she climbed into bed and buried down under the covers. She just wqanted to go to sleep and wake up when it was all over.

Kayne finished putting everything in the kitchen and made sure that the worst things were taken care of before going to the bedroom to get ready for bed. Jess' mood hung in the air as if it were tangible and despite his instinct to not push her buttons while in such a bad mood, he had to know what was going on. He deserved to know, right? Finishing up in the bathroom, he walked into the bedroom and climbed under the covers. Reaching out, he turned off the lights and reached out to pull Jess into his arms.
"You might as well get it over with and tell me what the hell happened earlier tonight," he said softly. "Who is Yuki and why does he upset you so much? He didn't do anything to you, did he?" he asked, staring up at the dark ceiling.

jess smirked at his assumption and shook her head in the darkness.
"No, he didn't do anything to me." She said softly, fresh tears springing to her eyes. He was right, she should tell him now it was out in the open. otherwise it would destroy them, though the truth might do that too.
"He's my son." She said softly, keeping his eyes away from him, "No, was my son. he belongs to them now."

Kayne breathed in deeply as he heard the tears in her voice and turned his eyes to her in the darkness. When she finally spoke, he stopped breathing for a moment. Surely he had not heard right. When she clarified, he frowned and tilted his head a little. He didn't say anything for a few moments as he tried to wrap his mind around this new information. She had a son. She had a son and hadn't told him and not only that, she seemed to think that this son belonged to someone else. Swallowing a little, he breathed in deeply and turned his eyes back up to the ceiling.
"Son? I thought you said you had told me everything Jess. That kind of seems like a rather big thing to leave out," he said softly.

Jess smirked and curled up into a ball as he spoke to her. So far he was calm, but that would all change, no problem.
"You didn't need to know." She said softly, "Because, because he's not part of my life anymore. Why would you need to know if you are never going to meet him, never going to see him?" She asked, looking at the pattern on the duvet cover in the darkness. "I'm not allowed to see him."

Kayne frowned sharply at her words and sat up, turning to lean on his elbow so he could look at her properly.
"What do you mean you're not allowed to see him? You're his mother. Who says he's not a part of your life?" he asked, though somehow, deep down inside, he knew the answer would lead to Hiro. He had never liked the smarmy b*****d from the moment he had stepped back into Jess' life.

Jess sighed and looked up at him through the blackness. If only it was that simple. She shook her head and shifted so that she could sit up.
"I wanted to keep him, when we went our separate ways, but, but Hiro's mother said she would take me to court if I took him away. I can't beat them, their name holds too much sway."
She breathed through her nose and hugged her knees to her chest.
"she said it was best for him if I stayed out of his life and I think she is right. I would only mess things up." she said, sniffing a little. "So you see, I didn't lie to you. You just did not need to know>"

"Right. A bit of your DNA is out there walking around, and I didn't need to know. Jess, what if things changed and you were allowed to see him? How do you think that would have made me feel if things kept going in the direction they are and all of a sudden your child with Kazuhiro suddenly turned up? I mean, it's a big enough bloody shock as it is. I have told you -everything- about myself, things not even my sister knows. That's how much I trust you. How am I supposed to feel when I find out from an accidental name drop?" he asked, his confusion and slight hurt easy to hear in his voice. "I mean, is there anything -else- that I need to know?"

Jess swallowed and closed her eyes. She didn't need this, she really didn't it was not important. He was not going to just turn up.
"he's not going to just turn up Kayne. He's gone. Gone forever. Knowing Mariko she'll probably tell him I'm dead." She said. breathing deeply. "You do know everything about me. I couldn't tell you this. I'm too ashamed of it all." She stood and reached for her cigarettes. "It hurts Kayne, more than anything I have felt. Emotional and physical. i don't care to relive it."

Kayne watched her rise for a moment, then rose as well.
"Look, I'm sorry Jess. It was just a bit of a shock. I mean, I had no idea," he said softly, reaching out to pull her into his arms before she could light up. "You keep talking about his mother, what does Kazuhiro say about all this?" he asked gently. "Surely things did not end that poorly between you two?"
