superwhatever she just want yami for her selfish needs ,and interferes between Yami and yugi! i couldn't have said it any better then that. That is pretty much everything as to why people don't like her in a nut shell.

Mizuko-sama Please post plausible and reasonable reasons besides friendship speeches. rolleyes because she's the only character that is even remotely close to the main boys, who make up the best shippings, like 90%. gonk i think she's ok, she's just an obstacle. especially for yamixyugi fans like me. 3nodding o yeah, and way too many friendship speeches. blaugh seriously! scream

I personally like Anzu and think she's a strong character.
I also agree with that was said about crushes -- they can sometimes make people do stupid things. Also, she might not have been able to see that Yuugi liked her. I haven't read all of the manga, so I can't say that for sure, but. I, myself, have done very hurtful things to people who (I now realize) liked me when I had eyes for someone else. I was completely oblivious to their feelings for me. Yuugi is so shy, but he really is obvious. But hell, I had had no idea anyone liked me even when I was asked to the senior prom years ago. And that's pretty blatant.
Just goes to show that just because someone seems like a b***h sometimes when they're infatuated doesn't mean they are a b***h. O;
But yes -- I like her character; a tomboyish, loyal girl who would do anything for the people she loves and who has big dreams for her future.

I like how tomboyish she is at the beginning of the manga, but she becomes a lot more girly as time passes. D: I think I prefer her at the beginning, but I still like her later on too.

people hate her b/c she...
1) used Yugi to get to Yami
2)held Yugis hand under the moonlight(duelist 4)
what people forget is...
1)shes a teenage girl w/ raging hormones who doesnt notice that yugi like likes her and has the hots for deep voiced guys that save her
2)she realizes that Yugi is aware of her crush on Yami and of course feels really bad about it so comforts him...sort of sweatdrop
people also need to realize that Anzu had a hard situation. She is a good person and does not want to hurt Yugi and knows that any guy would be heartbroken if his childhood friend prefered his alter ego. If I was faced with the decision of either Yami or yugi I could not choose either. And even though I'm a diehart YamixYugi fangirl I still would have been happier with the series if Kaz had done something with the weird love triangle instead of abandoning it for card games. I think Anzu/tea are only truly mean in the fanfics

My anti-drug I disagree. I don't think that she uses Yuugi. She was his only friend for a long time, the crush on Yami comes afterward. So, she becomes a little distracted by her crush - however, this does not mean that her friendship with Yuugi isn't sincere. Aaand, I'm not sure that she even knows that Yuugi likes her. It's not like he ever confessed, so you can't expect her to know.

Yeah... Yuugi definitely knows that Anzu likes his other half, but it's never made clear how much Anzu knows. Not to mention, the only time I was ever super pissed at Anzu was during the amusement park thing where she tried to freak Yuugi out to get his other half out. I guess that could be considered using Yuugi, but she didn't realize the danger it put herself and others in, and she definitely didn't consider the possibility that it would hurt Yuugi. She would never sacrifice her friends for her own gain. Yes, she was being a moron at the time, but everyone makes mistakes. Nearly all the characters have done moronic things one time or another. That was Anzu's time. XD;;

It's not being desperate -- she has a crush. I know from first-hand experience some of the stupid things a person can do when they feel like they're in love. Being completely oblivious to some things are one of the side-effects to crushes.

Oh... God forbid that someone have a crush... I mean... can't say I exactly agree with Anzu's choice in men, but she has a right to have a crush... that's a normal thing that most people have in their lifetimes...

I know but she just makes me mad. Her personality is annoying and She is so stupid. I know she prolly doesn't know Yugi likes her but she did use him. She made him worry about her and everything so he would change to Yami. She is just stupid, in my opinion. Kinda like Kagome, she doesn't really do anything. I know Kagome is important but her friends are getting attacked and all she does it "InuYasha! Miroku! Shippo! Sango! InuYasha!!" Really. She just stands there. Kinda like Anzu. I dunno. That is just my opinion.

@Pixie: Well, I can't object to you not liking Anzu, because that's your choice, but I have to argue about her just "standing there." The show is about dueling. The majority of important events involves a duel, and whoever is not participating in the duel really doesn't have much of a choice but to just stand there and cheer their friends on. Honda, Otogi, Shizuka, and Bakura all do just that, and Jounouchi does oftentimes too when he's not in his own duels. But when the time comes that she is able to do something more than cheer for her friends, she does. Like when Jounouchi woke up from his coma (after almost dying) and wanted to go straight out to watch Yuugi duel. Anzu stopped him and told him to let the doctor check him out, when not even Honda or Shizuka would. Of course, Jounouchi isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box, so he insisted that Yuugi's duel was more important than his health, but Anzu did take a stand to help her friend when no one else would. When she can help she does, in any way she can. Just because she's not a duelist doesn't mean she's useless. In fact, if it wasn't for Anzu, Atem never would've been able to learn his name through the pendant she got him.

I mean, sometimes I think crushes are stupid, but... most people can't help them. If I could choose, I wouldn't fall for people, but I do. So, I'm sure that is what happened with her. Also... @Pixie: Not sure I agree either. If you are going to dislike her for 'standing around' then, you ought to dislike other characters as well. I mean, honestly, Yami does most of the dueling. That doesn't mean the other characters are useless though.... I mean, I geuss from the perspective of the dub, one can see how she can be stupid. But a lot of the characters have their stupid moments anyway... I feel like Anzu is disliked just because she is the girl in the gang, and that's messed up... And I also disagree on the Kagome comment. Kagome is a very important character, and she does a helluva a lot of work. I mean, she's saved the gang with her arrow before, and if she couldn't see the shikon jewel's than they wouldn't be able to search for them so easily. Asking for help isn't a sin anyway. I mean, Yuugi get's the pharaoh's help in Duel's, Jou get's Yuugi's, etc, etc.

Haha, Anzu definitely isn't one of the stupider characters when put into perspective, especially when compared to characters like Jounouchi and Honda. XD;; They're adorable, but they're also rash and don't think things through. Not to mention, in terms of schooling, Anzu is the only one of the main four who gets good grades. Yuugi, Honda, and Jounouchi are generally at the bottom of the class. Buuut... Jounouchi definitely has more stupid moments than Anzu. And I luff him for it. whee
Aaaand... no comment on Kagome... not into Inu Yasha... >_>;; Never really payed enough attention to the characters to know how useful any of them are.
