"Ms. Arafel?" Kyou asked quietly. "Why did Yuki hit me do you think?" he asked in the same quiet unsure voice. His cheek was still bright red from where he had been him. "I wish I was better at helping people, maybe then people might stop leaving me"

Arafel frowned a bit.. she wasn't all too sure. It had just seemed so out of character. "I.. well.. my guess is that Yuki is scared of being alone too, but unlike you.. he doesn't beleive he can protect the people around him." she nodded, that must be it. Too bad Yuki was so locked up.. or she'd know more. She worried about him, he was far too mature for his age...

Kyou looked up, thinking. He looked back down at his feet. All his happiness was gone now and he would almost feel sorry for him. But then Kyou remembered that it was Yukis fault that they didn't remember, that it was his fault that Kyou was nolonger going to be happy. "I can't protect the people around me either..." Kyou said softly. "Thats why they keep abandoning me"

She thought a moment "You know.. Theres a difference in people leaving you, and what happend to Colette. She would never have erased you knowingly." THe thought of colettes memories being erased irked her a bit.. but she knew Hatori, and she knew Yuki... so she couldn't be mad at them. She knew they had their reasons.
The woman ran a hand through her hair looking ot the side "People you should protect will never abandon you. even when you can't protect them. You're a smart boy... I'm sure you can figure out what you should do..." She gave him a smile "And.. don't worry. There is no right or wrong answere, its what you do with teeh problems that brings that makes the difference." with that she turned and headed towards the stairs to go speak with yuki. "Colettes in the other room, she's been waiting for you to get here. " she called over her sholder as she dissapered into the hall upstairs.

"Okay then, Thank you very much Ms. Arafel" Kyou said smiling slightly and getting up. He started walking into the next room, his small feet making a soft padding sound as he walked. His ears twitched as his tail did, nervous. He hadn't talked to Colette in a while, not since he had run away. He pondered what Arafel said, desciding not to tell her his secret again for a while anyway. "Hello Colette" he said softly, smiling warmly at the sight of the blond girl.

Colette looked up from her crayons and paper. Eyes shimmering as her huge smile came on once again. It was kinda wierd.. she'd only met him once and for a few breif moments. (atleast in her mind) But she liked seeing him just as much as Spiro, or Avery, or Lloyd. She quickly moved to a stand, hurrying over to greet him. "Hello!"

"Hiya!" Kyou said smiling. "What are you drawing?" he asked kindly looking over at her drawing. He was glad Colette remembered him but was going to be the old Kyou again, he knew it. The scared cat who was afraid of people ever touching him. He almost winced when she came up close to him. What if she hugged him? What would he do then? How would he explain?

"An adventure." she smiled, holding out the less-than-a masterpeice. "See... Theres spiro and me and Avery. Avery was gonna fight the dragon, but then we saw the dragon just had a owie. And I kissed it and made it all better..." she smiled "Like mom does... Spiro doesn't beleive in it...." she sighed a bit buefore shrugging "But he's still there!"

"Oh wow! Thanks really really good!" he smiled. He did mean it, though he felt a little left out that he wasn't in it. But he had been away for a very long time. He was surpriced that she even remembered him at all in fact. "You're a really good artist. Mind if I join you?" he asked sitting down beside her.

"hehe!" she giggled, covering her mouth before lookign back to her things. "Of course not!" she fell back into a sit, flinchgin a bit as she connected with the tile and giving a tiny 'oof!' But the momentary pain was forgotten as she passed him paper and crayons, smiling brightly.

Kyou sat down beside her, picking out an orange crayon from the pile. "Um...okay so what will I draw?" he asked her smiling. He wondered if she really did remember everything other then what he could turn into. It seemed to be one of those things that just couldn't be true. I mean how could you erase a part of someones memory but not all of it? It confused him.

"Uhm..." she blinked, giving a thoughtful frown. "Draw a kitty!" she finally piped, giggling happilly. "I'm going ot draw an angel." She nodded, reaching for the blue crayon.
Somewhere, deep down, her memories were still there.. They'd just been shoved aside.

Kyou turned and looked at her for a second. Maybe she did still remember....or it was more likely to just be a coincidence. How could she remember after her memories were erased? It wouldn't make sence...plus it would be too good for Kyou for something like that to happen. Good things rarely did, untill he came to this place. It seemed to he his sanctuary...a place where his soul could heal. So Kyou gave her a half smile, which was still the best smile he could muster and nodded. "A kitty it is then" he said taking the orange crayon and starting to draw.
