Ozomatli what do you guys think about like the way we discriminate against fellow queers.. in my neck of the woods there is hella transphobia but i have also heard elsbians don't like gay guys ...both don't like bi people and whoa if your gender queer I haven't had any real personal expirience with that. In my circle of friends, all the queer people are bi, so there's no clashes between gay/lesbian people and bisexual people. And of the bi people I know, no one has any anti-trans geelings. Rather, it's quite the opposite. But my group tends to be very liberal. I don't know about the rest of the school, but I believe that my friends and I make up the majority (if not all) of the (out) queer people. I suppose the only personal expirience I have had with internal homophobia is a thread I made here on gaia about gay/lesbian feelings about bisexuality. There were a significant number of people who disapproved of bisexual people.

I have lots of friends who are Gay or Leisban and I'm Gay myself. There is no hostiliy in our circle. But somethings it's little annoying to see that so many people are Bi. They should just make up there minds. If thay can admit that they're Gay or Straight. This is onlya small annoyance. I won't hate anyone for being Bi or anything like that. I was Bi once myself till I finally come to adimitance of being Gay. And sometimes I think people should just find themselves and make a deicsion.

My bf is bi. He doesn't need to make up his mind about anything. He already has. He likes both end of story. Why do people always insist that you have to be one way or another?

I think the only ignorance is not being true to yourself.

the internal homophobia thing DOES exist. actually, even several people in this guils have had it at one time or another.
It happens during what most call denial. I dont think they're really as homophobic as much as they're afraid of themselves being gay. it's not the uber-religious kind of homophobic, it's more like a fear of what they're turning themselves into.

ViewtifulVampire But somethings it's little annoying to see that so many people are Bi. They should just make up there minds. We have made up our minds. It's not that we can't choose, it's that we can fall for a member of either gender. Well, that's my story at least, everyone's different.

Brandon Taylor Xander McCullon Brandon Taylor Xander McCullon Brandon Taylor I don't know if I was ever really homophobic. Mostly I just felt guilty because I'd been told all my life by my family and the church I went to that it was wrong. It was like it was okay for other people to be gay, but if I was gay, that meant I was going to hell. Doesn't make sense, but that's how I felt for a while. Well...it won't be Hell as long as you're there...*huggles* *Huggles* Hell is being without you. Aw...I love you... (Sorry if we're making anyone else gag) I heart you too. (Hehe, let them gag) Teehee... you two are uber-cute together! I don't think that anyone in this guild could really gag at you two being all lovey-dovey... it's really very sweet! ^_^ Well, on topic. When I first realized that I had feelings for both guys and girls I was a little freaked out. I really wasn't homophobic, hell, I was the exact opposite! It's just I was a bit freaked out about what was happening to me... I was in elementry school, so most of the kids in my class still saw liking the same sex as major taboo (which was quite odd, considering that the guys and girls in my class never intermingled). But, yea... whenever anyone asked me what I thought of gays and lesbians I'd always be truthful and say that I'm cool with it, and didn't think you should judge others based on who they liked, and that I really thought they should be allowed to marry and adopt. But interenally I felt a little bit insecure about myself until the summer before 9th grade, though I didn't come out until freshman year of High School. But even through my period of insecurity about myself I wasn't a homophobe at all.

It reminds me of the groups to go back over to the "good side" The turning gays to straight. Those are people who have internal homophoba if you ask me. They annoy me really.

Yes, it's not that we're confused or in denial, we're capable of being atracted to both genders. There's no reason to choose one or the other when you have the capacity to love either. If I was straight or a lesbian, I'd have no problem saying so, but that just isn't the case, and I see no reason to lie about my own attractions to fit a certain view of the world. hmmm, rereading what I wrote, my tone sounds harsh. Didn't mean to make it that way. sweatdrop

I am somewhat of a homophobe myself. Not that I think it's wrong or anything, it's just that, despite the fact that a lot of people are gay around where I live, I'm just not used to seeing it. sweatdrop I'm getting over it though, considering I am pretty darn sure I'm bisexual myself. So are a few of my closest friends...I would love to see the look on my sheltering overly-christian grandparents (no offence to christians out there, but they are the really scary type. I mean freakishly scary...they didn't want my roleplaying scary) if I told them that I was...or that I've been practicing some wiccan things, but that is another story...Sorry, I ramble a bit too much.
