Aphismet listened intently to her every word, as though his life would depend on it. Well, a life DID depend on it, and he'd be damned if this little darling would be anything less than perfectly healthy. He grinned as Alex got up, and he followed suit, slinging the carrier around his neck with one hand while still having Munchies stuck to the other. He then took up his iced cappuccino and finished it off in a large few gulps. He took a moment to wipe the bit of whipped cream from the side of his mouth with a smirk.
"I do have your number, yeah. And Chloe's doing well with hers, like you say, so I will not hesitate to ask either of you if something comes up, then." He smiled as he tried to put Munchies into the carrier, but she squealed and scratched at his hand the minute she came near the thing; she didn't want to be in there!
Shrugging, he decided to just carry her, cradling her close to him so that she wouldn't accidentally fall. Her mewls stopped when she realized she wasn't going back in the bag.
"Thank you so much, Alex. It was really weird fate for us to run into each other, wasn't it?" He laughed. "I'll have you over for supper soon, to thank you for the Gwee. What would you like to eat?" He asked as he escorted her off the terrace.

"Thank you. There aren't enough kind people in the world, and that's all these guys really need." Alex reached up to her shoulder, scratching her own Gwee under the chin. Zoe chirruped and head-butted the side of her head like a cat, pleased. Chuckling, she added, "I think you'll do just fine, Aphismet. Someone with a family like yours, you're a good person." Okay, that was a little cheesy and cliched, but she really didn't know how else to put it. She was simple and to the point; if he understood, then that was good enough!
Walking outside, she quirked a slender brow at his dinner invitation, surprise rippling across her features momentarily. "You're the chef...how about your favorite meal?" Alex laughed, playfully patting her stomach. "Appreciation of good food runs in my veins. I like to try new things. It's been too long since I've had a home cooked meal for me to be picky." She laughed again, adding, "Thank you...for the invite. Really, giving Munchies a good home was more than enough of a reward." The woman giggled and bent over, putting her hands on her knees to look at the little dragon. "Now, you behave! Take good care of Aphismet, and I know he'll do the same for you."
Standing (and straightening the protesting Lorenzo on her shoulder), Alex smiled warmly. "I hope to see you around again. Take care of yourself...happiness looks good on you."

Aph smiled. "You take care too! I'll call you for that dinner, soon!"
He walked away, waving at the woman, carefully cradling his new little darling. This turned out to be a VERY good day.
