Furies drew his cloak up around his neck for warmth against the chill morning air as he entered Al'Diku. He spoke to what passed for the town guard about his weapon in town, but seeing the locks binding it, they let it pass. They seemed more worried that he might knock over a vendor with it than kill someone.
Having found a decent place to sit and rest for a while, Furies left his sword at the door and placed himself at a table, silently taking in the clientèle. Several seemed to be speaking about something of interest, so he leaned closer after ordering his meal.

Brilliant flashes hit Will for the first time in months. Multiple colors ranging from light orange to sea blue, all apparenlyt coming from the tavern. Naw, your're just sober's all. A voice- his father's voice- told him in the back of his head. Tip that bottle and watch all the colors fade from your sight. "You'd like that, ya bugger. Wouldn't ya?" he asked, not realizing he was speaking aloud. But his father didn't answer him. With a small grunt, he turned to the fountain. He looked around for any nearby colors, and, seeing none, decided himself in enough privacy to remove his bandana. Multiple scars shown across his face. White remains of once healthy skin. Bits and pieces of his eyebrows would no longer grow back, due to some of these scars. His eyeless sockets rolled around absently. He groped down for the water, and finally finding its cool carress, he dipped his bandana, rung it out, and began to wipe his face and arms. he half-heartidly had to part with his bottle for a few minutes, cleaning as much as he could. He dipped the bandana again and rung it out once more. He then tied it back around his head, covering those empty sockets that shot in any direction. He looked back up with a calm satisfaction as the auras, indeed, disappeared. No longer smelling of the earth, he made his way to the cobblestone walkway and propped himself against the tavern's wall. His back was to the potential colors, thankfully.

((Ok, I've been waiting for Wolven Darknees to post his reply to my character, but I'm thinking that's not going to happen so I'm going to keep things moving))
Luxia must been imagining the man because he was no longer there. I really need to start getting more sleep... and need to drink a little less. She thought to herself. She felt that it was not such a great idea coming to a tavern to find others to join her on her journey. As she turned to get up and go to the door, but noticed three others in the tavern, one standing silently by the door and another at the bar and another at a table a little way from her. On the other hand... this could be a good prospect after-all.

Sensing another entry, Furies casually glances backwards over his shoulder curiously. The last time he sensed his fate was written, he had almost died.
"You look like you just found something you were looking for," he called out to the young woman who had just come in. He gestured for her to come sit down with him, a slight smile on his face.
"Was I in any way close to the truth?" he asked, pulling out a chair invitingly and raising a hand to the barkeep.

Kid stepped up triumphantly into the gates of the busy main road, and eagerly scanned the city's glorious activity. Al'Diku... it seemed to him that he has gone through this place before, and vaguely remembered an instance when he ran past the main road before exiting through the opposite gate. He sighed with discontent as he knew all too well that simply standing around and searching his mind would do no good. He had to concentrate on his main goal for stopping by the city, well known for its abundant provisions.
Looking more like a clueless old man with the mask of a gullible child than a young valiant Summoner, Kid walked slowly among the chaotic crowd of incoming travelers, looking left and right over the several structures that tradesmen made their post. After just walking ten yards, he was well convinced that the city could give him all the supplies he needed for his journey, and even some extra stuff that he constantly had to shake his head to ward off the temptation of buying. Actually, he was quite hasty to decide that he could get all he needed in the bustling city, being too troubled at his incessantly growling stomach.
A small tavern to his right caught his eye, and he could do little to resist coming in. Walking by the dooor, he noticed a relatively tall man standing against the wall. He was so dirty from head to toe, and the wet bandana on his head only made him look even more appealing, in the sense of bringing forth Kid's good nature. That sack of gold is probably the only money he has, and that bottle of liquor is probably the only injestion he has for the entire day! Kid thought.
"Good day, sir," Kid started cheerfully. The man's eyes were covered, and it only made him wonder if the man could actually see him. Nevertheless, Kid smiled innocently at the man, "I am quite new to this city, and I sure would like some company to help me around. Would you like to join me for a meal?"

The fox-eared girl waited for an answer, but the man seemed oblivious to her. Some people walked in, as the seconds passed. Skye wondered about his strange demeanour. Suddenly, the Shaman disappeared, leaving the fox girl alone with a stunned look on her face. Skye noticed her glancing around and made up her mind. "How rude, leaving like that" She said, approaching the girl "I'm sorry, I couldn't help but to watch that. My name is Skye, by the way" She extended a friendly hand "I heard you're in a journey...I'm in one myself as well."

Will had started in such surprise that it actually took time to register the question. The tone of his voice... Is he only a lad? More flashes of color. A deep maroon aura seeped from the being in front of him, then faded in a whisp of smoke. "I tell ya, if a you'd a told me yesterday that a stranger would have offered meh company before the wet time," he said, holding up the wine bottle to show what he meant by "wet", "I'd a be laughin' in your face until this minute, m'boy." He said with an amiable grin on his face. "I'd be right honored, if I may say so. This here's been the best food joint since Stockhomes. 'Course ol' Stocky got caught in his cellar crushin' rats ta make his wine." Will began to ramble, one could tell beyond the amiable smile was a man well tanked. He let out a huge bellow and slapped his knee. Course this boy doesn't need to hang around the likes of you, his father said in his solemn voice. You're twice the drunk I ever was.

There are no such things as coincidence.Zayu sighed. 'It's almost time to move to a different bar. This place is getting too crowded.' She thought. It wasn't at all 'crowded,' because there were only six or so people, including herself. But despite her better instincts, she decided to stay, and listen to what the fox-eared girl had to say. Zayu smiled, reaching to make sure her hood was still in place. "Maybe there's more to them all, than meets the eye." She said for no ears but her own. There is only hitsuzen

"Wow!" Kid screamed in amazement, "Are you a fortune teller, sir?" It seemed like such a naive question, an undeniable trait he had, but he just couldn't help but ask.
When a waitress passed by beside them, carrying a piece of paper and some charcoal, he gleefully called out, "Excuse me, ma'am!"
"Yes?" The maiden asked kindly.
"May I please order two large slices of meat and two bowls of rice from the East?" Kid asked with a charming grin, his spoken words fairly eloquent.
"Sure!" she wrote down the order, "That would be 30 pieces of gold, sir!"
Kid opened the palm of his left hand, and after a brilliant baze of light, a sack of 30 pieces of gold sat on his hand, and he gladly payed it to the waitress.
"Be right back, sir!" The waitress bowed, and went into the counter, apparently not surprised at a little magic show.
Scanning the tables, Kid spotted one vacant on the corner to their left, and immediately held the man by the hand as he jotted to the spot, dragging the stranger with him. "My name's Kid, by the way," Kid said as he walked, "Kid Maylin. And you are?..."
He took a seat, and gestured the man to it, while dragging another one for him to sit on. He had little clue that the man was actually blind though.

"Fortune teller?" William asked, snorting laughter as he was lead to the table. "Naw, those are for th' birds, so they are. I'm just a lucky guess as far as I can tell, 'tis all." You really should watch that power of your's. His father remarked shrewdly. He squashed the voice. Will sat, thinking about what Kid had ordered, his stomach gave an approving growl. "Oy, quiet down, yer bugger." he muttered, slapping at his stomach. Eventaully it quietened down. Glad that he had cleaned himself up for a change, Will stuck out his hand across the table. "William of the Nightingale clan, at yer service, lad. And I s'pose ya weren't kiddin' when ya say your from outta town. The only folks that order Eastern rice are the Mannai folk that travel through here like ghosts through the wind."

((Sure. I'll go with it. cool )) Kid chortled freely as he watched William slap his stomach, relieved that the man was hungry. He was getting worried that the stranger wasn't hungry at all and that he was just forcing the guy to eat with him. He placed his staff gently to lean beside the wall facing outside, right below a circular window.
"Oh?" Kid's sparkling eyes flashed with interest, and gladly shook the man's hand. Despite his seemingly lean self, he had a rather firm grip, "So you know where I am from? That's great! Then I wouldn't need to feel alien from you."
Just by then, the waitress came to them holding a wooden board that carried two wooden plates, each with a large slice of meat, and two bowls of Eastern rice, and placed them on the table. She smiled at the two and Kid grinned back, thanking her before she left.
"Have a nice meal!" She said turning back, before continuing back into the counter.

"Sounds like a cutey, that one," Will muttered to Kid. "But ya don't be gettin' no help from any of 'em, high time the tab is due. Most o' the girls in here pack a whallop, so they do." He rubbed the side of his cheek, as if nursing a bruise under his hand, and gave another chuckle before eating his meal. "As far as the Mannai goes, I'm no stranger to the lands, m'self. Probably lived there when you were still on th' teethin' clothe." He said, carefully placing his knife and fork in order to cut properly. He took a bite and was instantly forced to restrain himself from picking up the slab of meat and eating it whole. The colors flashed up again, multitudes of blues and violets. The maroon in front of him picked up so violently that he had to turn his head, his brow furrowing under the bandana. What he wouldn't give to have a sip of the bottle he was forced to leave outside. "What I meant by the folk, were prob'ly just the priests, savvy?" he said, not skipping a beat, even with the auras still present. "They only eat the rice an no more 'n that. How they survive is a wonder to man and a blessin' of God." Even as he said this, he crossed himself as he had been taught to do when speaking of the holy.

There are no such things as coincidence.Zayu's head started spinning as the two different conversations sprang up. She tried keeping tabs on both, but she never was much for multitasking like that. She sighed and started picking at her food. She didn't necessarily need to eat at that moment of time, but she didn't want to look conspicuous. 'It's good to have a camouflage, right?' She smirked to herself. It wasn't like these people would have any importance to her, but in the future... Who knew what would happen in the future? There is only hitsuzen
