He nodded. "Yes, Mother Mary Grace teaches Sunday school after services. Around eleven, I would say." Asmadai looked back to the child. "My sister did a wonderful job, making that," he said.

"That's great! He'll see you guys then." Chimed Gary as he handed Asmadai the spray bottle and grabbed the toddler's leash.
"She'll need this. If you guys believe in spanking, then go for it. His guardian never laid a hand on him. That's probably why he's so feral. "
"Sissy..."mumbled Ranis. He held the beads in the air to admire the way the light make them sparkle. They were so pretty and delicate. He wished he could make something like that.
Ranis's ears perked at the sight of the water bottle. The toddler sneered at the sight of the spray bottle and watched it like a cornered feline. He loathed that bottle. It never hurt him, but it was irritating and always seemed to know when he was misbehaving.

Asmadai shuddered. "I cannot speak for Mary Grace, but..." Quickly, he set the bottle to the side. "I cannot see how God would think it right to harm a child." It didn't seem like his attention would shift back to Ranis soon; he was looking at one of the stained glass windows with a nostalgic look. It almost seemed he saw something they could not.

"If you insist. Maybe you guys could figure something out and teach me a thing or two. Perhaps, we could even get Keirro to go to church and lighten up a little." Gary sighed as he looked at the toddler.
Ranis turned his attention to the priest. He then focused his attention to the stained glass, but saw nothing interesting about it. Confused, Ranis scratched his horns and looked back at the priest.
"Gah! Whaookin at?" barked the toddler.

Asmadai jumped, then shook himself back into concentration. "Church is a serious matter, sir. God loves those who are cheerful and share their happiness with others, but one should never take matters of the soul lightly." After that miniature lecture, he stood and brushed off the back of his cassock with two hands.

Gary was taken aback by the lecture.
"My apologies! " Gary cried. He looked at his watch and realized that Keirro would expect him back shortly.
"Thank you for helping us out, Father. Me and the boy need to get home before his guardian kills us. Is there any paperwork I need to fill out, or anything?" Gary asked.
Ranis yawned at Asmadai's speech. What was this man prattling on about? He enjoyed having Gary get fussed at, but he was quite ready to return home to Keirro and cuddle up next to her on a warm cozy sofa.

"There is nothing to forgive, and... No," Asmadai said, at ease once more behind the altar. He seemed to think before his answer, but once he'd said it, he seemed fairly certain. The priest shrugged. "Go with God," he said to Gary and Ranis, crossing himself and then retreating into the sanctum. He had to finish preparations.

"Likewise!" cried out ary as he tried to exit the church.
The moment he tried to set foot outside the door, Ranis was showing his dislike for leaving. He grolwed and jerked at the harness in a savage, but the child eventually settled down and followed Gary outside, tossing the Priest a forlorn look as he went outside.
