ninja For the benefit of Mr. Kite... I love Goldeneye. Not only is it the best one I've seen...it's the Bond that introduced me.<3
Also, I hate Casino Royale with a passion.3 It was boring, uninteresting, and it screwed up so many taglines that it's depressing. "How would you like your martini, Mr. Bond?" "I don't care!" What the hell!?!?!?!?3
...there will be a show tonight. domokun

I've never liked James Bond very much...but I did think Casino Royale was ok, so I'll say that was my favourite movie...but I'd probably say I liked Timothy Dalton best..but I've never really sat and watched one with Sean Connery in all the way through. sweatdrop

...there will be a show tonight. domokun Actually, it was "Do I look like I give a damn?!" I liked Royale. It was an okay movie. But for me, it was the best of the Bond movies. Sure, it wasn't Bond. Craig isn't Bond, the story wasn't Bond. That's probably why I liked it. Purposely contradicting the tag line and having the impression that he -might- settle down with the one woman was very much a plus as far as I'm concerned.

I liked The World Is Not Enough, though Connery was my favorite Bond.

ACTUALLY, if we want to get technical, Craig is probably a Bond more faithful to Ian Fleming's novels than any of the other previous Bonds. The Bond movies have always been rather "fluffy" as far as action movies go, and Craig's portrayal of Bond is probably the most true. Most people forget, Bond was the figment of a novelist's imagination before he was Sean Connery.

If he's closer to the novelist's idea of Bond. Can you elaborate at all? Specify why he's more to the Novelist's idea?

Well, Ian Fleming's Bond was really quite the codger. He smoked like a chimney, drank like a fish, and as a result, he was really quite irritable. In most of the older Bond movies, Bond seems to come out unscathed in most situations. Not so in the novels.
Hmm....i haven't read a Bond book in so long...... All I remember is that Bond was pretty much an a**, but a lovable one at that.

A character who you love, but a person who you hate.
They're usually the best.

That's right! You love Bond, and you want him to succeed, but sometimes he's just not all that lovable.

phoenixrage93 I AM LEGEND and 300 300 came out in '07 right? Uhm... you're in the wrong thread. By "007" he means James Bond. Not the year 2007. Dear god why can't people read the entire thread before posting?
