Elwen snorted. "No." She said. "Especially me. I hate people." she stated it as a fact. "For example. Normally I'd be far more interested in insulting that hideous hair style or choice of green coat. But as it is, I'm afraid this situation has forced me to play a role of politeness. So here I am." Her blue eyes flicked to him. "What did you think of the meeting?" She asked, biting back another insult. She'd been about to throw in another insult. Damn. She thought This is harder then I thought.

Asi looked at the blue-eyed girl and said, "To be honest....I slept through most of it. What I did hear was just non-important stuff. Can you fill me in?" He asked very politly.

((Taking into consideration how the temp thing should work. Also, Zell, I started a profile thread. If you want to post yours go for it, otherwise I will for you.))

Elwen rolled her eyes. "You missed out on very little." she said. "No one understands what was going on. It was all nonsense coming out of everyone's mouth. They're frightened. Can't show it. Pretend they know something." she pointed down the street. "The gurus are now going for a private meeting where they can fight about the right answer." She flicked her blue eyes back to him. "Personally, that seems foolish to me." she stated. "They'll find more answers on the streets-talking to other elementals. I suppose that's what I'm doing. I can see I found a useful source" the last line dripped with sarcasm.

Aoi Umizu walked cheerily through the streets of Laista, finding every path nostalgic. After many years abroad studying and wandering he had finally reached his way back home, with good news for his parents. Just a year ago, he had been able to attain his Seer status and not only that, he was able to gain a new friend. Who, although somewhat unwilling, came with him to this bustling city. He stood out well from the crowd, standing 6'5" in height with a closely shaved head and a grin across his face. Aside from that, he was not wearing his cloak, and his sleeveless shirt revealed the fact that he had no left arm. This caused some heads to turn, but Aoi's cheereful aura left their suspicious stares unnoticed.

"What do you think, Inanise?" He asked, looking at the small cloaked figure that walked closely beside him, whose pale hand gripped gripped his arm tightly.

"It....it...it's ok...it's so...crowded..." she said in a whisper, her grey eyes darting to and fro. She clung tightly to Aoi, scared. It was her first time here and although Old Inshi mentioned many things about the Great City, she had never been physically there and nothing would have prepared her for what she saw.

Aoi laughed, wishing he could grow his left arm back, if only to ruffle her head and give her a reassuring hug. "Don't strain yourself, you'll do fine, just don't loose sight of me." With that, he looked at her and gave her a smile. Inanise looked up and met his ice blue eyes with her grey ones and smiled back, trusting him fully.

"Never." she told him, clinging on tighter and almost causing the tanned man to trip over.

Aoi laughed, "Don't cling too much!"

And the two continued to walk, Aoi walking familiar streets back to his old home.

Shania felt like she was caught up in a tide. Though, really, that's exactly what this was. A human wave. The streets of Laista were usually difficult to navigate. But it didn't help that so many were surging from the same building. She should be fighting her through the crowd the opposite way. But she wasn't in a rush to get to the Guru meeting. It was going to be the same thing that had just lasted for hours. Fresh air was all she cared for at the moment. Even if it did mean fighting with people for a place to walk. Suddenly Shania came across a pair clutching each other. They were doing the difficult and fighting against the flow. She attempted to stand aside and let them pass. The girl looked terrified out of her mind and Shania attempted a reassuring smile.

Through the surging human wave, Aoi's big stature was able to push through the tough crowd. Just then a kind face made a path for them and she looked to Inanise with such a reasurrance that Aoi could not help but stop.

"Aww... thank you so much!" He said with a grin. "You're the first one to show such politeness to this uncommon pair."

Aoi tugged gently on his right arm, and the shy Inanise let it go easily, but grabbed onto his shirt a few seconds later.

"I'm Aoi Umizu and this is Inanise" he said, reaching out his good right arm while at the same time presenting the pale hooded firgure to the stranger. "Sorry to trouble you with greetings on this busy street, but I just can't let you pass without knowing your name."

Shania was taken aback by this. She had not expected their greeting any more then they her smile. She took his hand. "Shania Lesli." she managed to get out as someone bumped into her. She flicked her eyes around and saw an empty spot near one of the buildings. "Let's talk there." she said over the rumble of the crowd. Shania knew how hard it could be to get around this city, and she wanted to make sure they knew where they were going. Finally making her escape from the busy streets, Shania stood by the shop window and waited for the other two.

Aoi nodded, seeing the logic in her suggestion. He followed behind her and was soon standing a few steps away, with Inanise in tow, looking much more relieved. "This place hasn't changed." He laughed. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Shania." Then, Aoi nudged Inanise forward a bit, causing the girl to shyly move closer.

"I'm Inanise Nox Noctis" she said, her voice almost too soft to hear. Then, without a second to loose, Inanise hurriedly moved back to her old spot.

"Sorry about that. She's shy. First time to the big city, you know." he said with a chuckle.

Shania hid a smile at Inanise. She seemed like she was a sweet girl. "This city can be pretty intimidating." she agreed. She glanced at Inanise. "I suppose I am lucky. I grew up here. When I was little I was dodging between legs. It was easier back then to get around..." she grinned. "But you are from here...Aoi? I was worried you two might not know how to get where you need. Glad to hear you've been here before. It's a fun city. If slightly busy."

"I was born here." He said, smiling proudly. "I just came home my travels. I haven't been home since I left when I was 16." he chuckled and stopped himself from guffawing. "And I'm 32!" He scratched his bald head and laughed. Then, after composing himself, he bowed to Shania. "I hope I didn't make you late for any of your business, but if you're not so busy do you want to join me and my family to lunch?" He said this with a friendly, reasurring smile. "The more the merrier, I say."

Shania hesitated. She really should go to the meeting. But she was fully convinced that little would happen in it. Besides she opinion wasn't that valued. What the hell. If anyone asks later, I'll tell them I couldn't think of an excuse that wouldn't betray the meeting. "That sounds lovely." she replied.

I have a question, if you pick water or air, would that mean you could, maybe not right away, also control the temperature, like freezing water, if you pick water, or chilling air, if you pick air? Also as additional elements, I believe that the elements of life and death should be added, even though I know you were going for a more traditional physical elements, but it would be cool to be able to heal, with life, or ressurect, and kill, or harm with death element, just an idea.

I think thats a good idea. But, wouldn't air be the one that can control the temperature to freeze or heat things up?

It would depend you know, like with air you could only heat or chill things to a certain point before the air disperses, following the laws of physics, where as with water you could manipulate it so much you could freeze it but not other things, you know, kinda like that, or freeze water around it

"Great!" Aoi smiled, and ushered Shania back into the busy street. He walked first before the two women, his height making enough way so that the two ladies behind him didn't have to stuggle so much with the crowd. "Hope you don't mind my home. It's not so big, but it's cozy." he said, almost shouting due to the bustling noise in the street.

While Aoi talked, Inanise took short glances at Shania and sometimes even smiling. The shy girl quickly looked away each time their eyes met and a faint blush covered her cheeks. She found Shania to be a nice person, but there was still some mystery to her.

Soon enough, they went to a less crowded area of the city, the quainter, suburban side. The trio stood in front of a two-storie house, that had a small front lawn. "Some things never change, and I'm glad." Aoi told no one, but said it loud enough for both girls to hear.

Aoi looked at both of the girls and then smiled. "Well, come on in." With that, Aoi led the way to his door, where he knocked joyfully.

Shania could feel Inanise studying her and once in awhile she tried to steal a glance at the other woman as well. They were both curious about each other. Aoi was very talkative and friendly but Inanise seemed incredibly shy. Shania quietly pondered how she behaved when it was just her and Aoi. It was clear she felt safe with him. A thought suddenly struck Shania upon reaching the house. She knew quite a lot of people in this city and it was entirely possible she knew his parents. She searched her memory for the name or an image of the house but was still not convinced she did not know him. She would have to wait and see. Shania cast another smile at Innanise and followed Aoi to the door.

Ki looked about the city, but couldn't find her. "Where is that woman!" he thought in his head, a tinge of annoyance was sprinkled in with the words. He had lost her after the meeting because he wasn't allowed inside.

There were way too many people asphyxiating the town and it was giving him a rather large head ache. Suddenly he noticed a rather tall man on the otherside of a wall of people, and...

"THERE SHE IS!" Ki yelled, not realizing he had done so till several people gave him a rather grave glare.

They were gone by the time he got there, but Ki could still see the man walking and was hurrying after. As he got closer Ki noticed the man was missing an arm and had a thing clinging to him (whatever it was seemed to be scared or shy of Shania). It seemed they were heading toward a house, probably owned by Shania's new "friends."

"Sh-Shania!!!" Ki called to her; his lungs collapsing from the short jaunt (Ki was acting melodramatic just to try and make Shania feel bad).

Shania turned from the door with surprise at the sound of her name. "Ki!" she said watching as she struggled for breath. She moved back towards him. "What is it?" she asked with a tilt of the head, amusement playing across her lips. She was impressed that he managed to keep track of her. Not that she'd known he'd been following her. She would have stopped if she did...maybe.
