[9]Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders [10]nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. [11]And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 6: 9-11 (NIV)

-

It is strictly written that homosexuals will not take part in the kingdom of heaven. Just saying "Jesus loves me", will not save you from the lake of fire. I urge all of you not to follow false doctrine that people have a chance to sneak sin into heaven.

And yes, homosexuals can indeed change. I, as well as many I've heard of and have met, can testify to this. There have been way too many conversions to believe some people can't divert themselves from sinful habits. Anyone can overcome sin. What you need is God's touch to get you through it. Praise God, he can deliver us through such an enormous obsticle.

This topic really shouldn't be an argument when it is so boldly stated, but at the same time, many do not know about the the mental and physical threats homosexuality can bring upon a person. That's why God has condemned it. He wants to keep us safe and healthy.

In case anyone doesn't realize this, everyone has this issue with homosexuality. Homosexuals are not alone, or are a special case, even thought they may think so. In reality, people have occasional moments where they 'check out' an individual of the same sex. It's whether you expand on that small slip-up is what makes the difference between a homosexual and a straight person. This proves homosexuality is a lifestyle choice.

Believe me, guys. Anyone can change. I have expeience on such a field. I was once bi, but I was delivered by the love of God. If I, along with thousands of others can do it, so can you. :')

The bible says that homosexuals may not enter the kingdom of Heaven. It also says theives can't.
Does that mean a Christian who stole a pack of gum as a kid and never repented for it will go to Hell, also?

I just can't see God condemning his child, who has given his heart for him, for all eternity over one unforgiven sin.

This question has pondered my mind for quiet a while, and no one can answer me.So help me out,do gays, lesbians, and bis go to hell?

I personally think not. I mean God wouldn't hate somebody and send a person to hell just for being gay, lesbian, or bisexual. I mean as long as you don't go and make a living being a prostitue, but if you stay true to your lover, I think that is completely fine. Love is Love. God does not discriminate. If God didn't create the gays/lesbians/bis, who did?

I dunno. If they accept Jesus and die immediatly, without time to work on dropping that sin I believe they will go to heaven, because God is just and fair, He will not condemn them if they didn't have the chance to change. But if they accept Jesus, and they keep living a gay/bi life without doing anything to change it until they die, then I believe they go to hell, because God warns us in the Bible about this stuff. Obviously, this change requires a lot of time, prayer and patience

I hope you are a little more mature than many in the guild and actually understand this. or at least try to.

1 Corinthians 6

9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God(this means they don't go to heave, so they go to hell). 11 Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

I could not have said it better...I needed to read that again.

I have always taken the bolded and italicized words to mean that, through the salvation that comes from Jesus' death, God no longer sees our sins, but sees us as perfect. This selection also says nothing like, "but you stopped sinning," therefore I think that, if one is a Christian, one will go to heaven no matter what one's personal vices are.

I believe that God is forgiving...I don't think that god is vengeful...but that doesn't mean that he's going to let just everyone into heaven. It states in the bible that men and women are supposed to be together and that man/man and woman/woman relationships are not supposed to be sexual. I personally don't mind gays...but when God destroys two entire towns supposedly because of gays (the way I read it, I just saw it as the people being unwelcoming, but everyone that I've talked to about that insists that it was because of gays) then you know that it's probably not the best thing in his eyes...

I am jumping into this a bit later, it would seem, but from my understanding of scripture, homosexuality is no worse to God than any other kind of sexual sin (ie, fornication, adultery, etc). Any kind of sex outside the boundaries of a marriage between a man and a woman is sexual sin.

God wants us to be pure so for those who are unmarried that means abstinence regardless of whether you are drawn to males or females and for those married, it means keeping sex sacred between just you and your spouse.

At one of the churches I used to attend, we regularly got a speaker named Joe Dallas in. He was great and very committed to the Lord but for a time he got drawn into homosexuality even while married. He has written some books on the subjects, though it was some time ago and I can't remember the titles (sorry).

When I was younger, I lived a very loose life, even when I had become saved cus I just didn't get proper discipleship and thus lived the way I knew how. Jesus will never give up on you. The Holy Spirit can give you the strength to step away from sexual sin. But it is a day-by-day, cross-carrying type of journey. You will stumble in thought if not in action, but just keep on getting back up, asking His forgiveness, and moving on.

I believe that it is those so-called Christians who profess by mouth their salvation but then go on living an unrepentant sinful lifestyle that will have much to answer for. Paul says having His grace does not mean license to sin. Those will be the folks who cry Lord Lord and Jesus says I never knew you. As for the unsaved, it makes little difference to God what their sins are if they die unforgiven. God does not measure sin the way we do. He is just that holy.

Hope that helps and keep on keepin' on (now that saying is sure to show my age, is't it?)

I agree to some degree.

I don't think gays should really go to hell. They should at least get the same rights as everyone else so that the whole "No sex before marriage" thing doesn't happen. A marriage can be anything. The common definition is between a man and a woman but I think that is ludicrious. There are many definitions to that word and most of them are misconstrued to a point.

But like I have been saying countless times, God created everyone and he loves everyone and that includes gays. If he didn't then why are they here? Think about it.

And Autumn you're really not all that old. I say that all the time (I'm 17 isn't that ironic) Being 40 someodd years is quite odd. Now if you were 70 something I'd ask "What the hell is wrong with you? O.o"..but that's just me.

You know, it's tough sometimes to properly extract from God's word without coloring it with our own values. I do believe marriage is meant to be between one woman and one man cus it is how Go designed it in Eden, even if the word marriage was not mentioned directly. It is moreso developed in Genesis though and later with Exodus and such in regards to the behaviour of Abram/Abraham and also Moses.

With Abraham and the following generations in regards to their business of following other people's and taking more than one wife. Moses stating that God did not want divorce but allowed Moses to allow it because of th hardness of men's hearts cus if they did not want to keep their wives they could declare her unfaithful, whether or not she was, and then either send her back to her family in shame or even have her stoned to death.

And later Jesus speaks about if a man marries a woman who was divorced for any reason other than adultery that he has now committed adultery with her cus she is still the other man's wife. And in Paul's epistles, he expands that the only other reason other than adultery allowed for divorce was if a person's spouse was an unbeliever and packed up and left. But if the unbeliever is willing to stay married then the unbelief alone is not a reason for divorce.

All this summed, Scripture always speaks of marriage in terms of man and woman. And of course the whole story of Sodom and Gomorrah too. Scripture even states that the act of sodomy is forbidden even between man and wife. (You learn something new everyday...I just read that the toerh day while reading The One Year Bible for Women, my goal this year to actually read the Bible cover to cover..I am behind in daily reading s though on account of sickness running through the family.)

Oh, I don't remember who said the Bible says babies born out of wedlock are abominations. I would be very interested in the Scripture reference if you would not mind.

Thanks for the not-old remark too! Although if 70's work the way 40's do, I am sure that by the time I am in my 70's I will still feel young at heart even if the body is sagging and creaky! But thanks! I am enjoying the dialog here better than with most so-called adult ones. I may not agree with every point made here, but you all do present good arguments and thoughtful responses..I amvery impressed with you all!

Well, gotta go, my son just walked in the door from a fight with his dad about grades and whatnot. Pray for him, guys/gals, will ya? I know school is a lot harder these days than when I went.

Bye for now!

Personally i don't think gays, lesbians, or bis go straight to hell without a chance to redeem themselves but then again none of us REALLY know whats going to happen unless you've died and came back

The Bible does refer to life as a test 3nodding and that the Lord never tests you with something that is beyond your ability to handle with the holy spirit. Reguardless, this does not mean all the tests are easy sweatdrop

Ive tried praying and ive stopped the sex,but it just seems like I can never change.Ever since I knew anything about liking someone, ive been gay, what can i do to change?

You cant change, and you shouldnt have to =/
I personally dont take the bible word for word.

Simply because i know that man wrote it, and though God is perfect, mean are fallible. And through the translations, i believe things than be misinterpreted.

So i think as long as you pray and live your life the righteous way, it wont matter who you've had sex with.

I am a reformed bisexual. I am not going to hell for the nature I refuse to feed.

Yes, sin seperates us from God. But, if we repent, and don't pick it up again, we are saved.

Just the same, if a homosexual is saved, and does his/her best to live a godly life and loves Christ, he/she will go to heaven.
