"I like water fine enough, afterall I do take baths to become clean. However, going into the water just for enjoyment seems rather silly to me. Too childish." She shrugged, playing around wasn't something she liked. Even if this Choumeida wanted Denise to show her how she swam, it all seemed unimportant to her.

Genna cocked her head at the Minya. Well, if she didn't like water, that was fine. Genna dived off of the rock and surfaced a little ways in front of the Minya. She slipped over to the bank and rested her arms on the ground. "What's your name, by the way?"

"Denise." She replied, raising a paw to look it over. She supposed her name was important if the Choumeida wanted it. "What is yours?" If she had to say her name, then this Choumeida should tell hers. But if the Choumeida felt her as unworthy of her name, Denise would not mind much. It was her choice afterall, and Denise could do nothing about it.

"Oh, I'm Genna. You can just call me Gen if you want, of course." Genna let herself slip back into the water a bit. "Where do you come from? I've never seen anyone like you..."

"Very well, Genna." She said, nodding briefly to the Choumeida. She turned her head to stare off into the distance. "I always remember being with her, never any where else. I've been told that I come from a place called the Snow Drop Mountains."
Denise could see the faint outline of mountains from where she was, but they were still so far away. "It's hard for young to survive in the cold, so they find us new homes." She still stared at the far mountains. "I might go back there some day."

Genna cocked her head at the Minya. "Snow Drop Mountains? I've never heard of them. What exactly is a... mountain, you said?"

Denise blinked, slowly. How in the world did this Choumeida not have any idea what a mountain was. Though, Denise remembered that tail, Choumeida most likely could not leave this water. It was their home while for Denise, her owner's cottage was her home.
"A mountain is large in height and in width. It gets smaller in width as you climb up. Triangular in shape with snow on them. You cannot miss them." Denise nodded her head to where in the distance the triangular shape of mountains stood.
Her tail swayed from left to right before falling down onto the ground. "I have never seen this type of water before, this lavender colour is quite different from what I am used to." Denise turned her head away from the sight of the mountains, instead staring down into the water.

"Yes, my waters are special, no?" Denise smiled proudly. "And so... a mountain is like... an island, when you look at it underwater?" She tried to visualize a mountain, without much success.

Denise shrugged. "They may be special like you say they are but they may for all you know, not very special at all." Denise tilted her head to the side, thinking upon Genna's next words. "Like an island? I have no idea, never have I opened my eyes under the water. Since you have no clue what a mountain is I take it I will have to see for myself under the water. Though.." Denise paused, staring over to the mountains in the fair distance. "I doubt you can see them from under there."

"Mm, true," Genna shrugged. "And no, I can't really. My eyesight is much better underwater, I've found..." She squinted at the mountains that Denise was looking at. "They do look kind of like islands, though, I think..."

Yes and her eyesight wasn't as good underwater most likely. Though she hadn't opened her eyes underwater before, but with the water, Denise could see herself having trouble seeing under all that water. Denise shook her head before raising herself on all four paws. She flopped her long hair over her shoulders before headings towards the water's edge.
Denise looked down in the water, before heading into it. It was cold, naturally. "An island wouldn't look like a mountain. It doesn't make sense. Islands aren't as tall as mountains are." Denise eyed the mountains, her paws paddled her over to where the Choumeida was. "This is how I swim." Denise thought back to their earliar conversation. She swam some more with her paws.

"But they do," Genna insisted. "They don't look the same ABOVE water, but some of them do, underwater..." Genna watched Denise paddle. "That's an interesting way to swim. I would try it, except... I can't. No back legs. I wish I could, though..."

Well fine. Denise didn't want to dunk her head under the water, but to prove that she was right she would have too. Denise blew some hair strands from her fur, she loved her hair but it was annoying to deal with when it got wet. Which already it was. Denise sighed, her eyelids closing before she sucked in a breath and dunked her head under.
Her paws paddled about, keeping her under as she opened her eyes. Water went in them and she blinked underwater, disliking the effect of it. She looked for the mountains, ah there they were. Denise rose to the surface, frowning when she came above. She swam to the shore and pulled herself up with her front paws. Her body shook and water droplets flew everywhere.
Denise turned her head, her hair drooped in front of her eyes as she looked at Genna. "It is unfortunate you have no back legs but you have body parts that I do not have or most likely with never ever. Every species is different." Denise frowned some more. "Wishing, hmm. Never made a wish before but it may work, if you believe." She shook her head, now she was sounding like that brat at home. She really had to stay farther away.
"After viewing the mountains underwater, I assumed too much. They are indeed oddly distorted, the shape seems smaller than when you see them from here. I do not believe they are like an island but then I have never actually seen an island before. Only heard about them." Denise stopped, sitting herself back down on the grass. She flipped her wet hair over her shoulders as she dripped with water.

"You've never been to an island?" Genna was surprised. "You should go sometime. They're wonderful places to watch the sunset from..."

Denise rose a brow at Genna. "And where am I to find an island?" If she had to go underwater to encounter one, then there was no way she was doing that. For one she could get trapped and die, she could drown and obviously die, something could possibly eat her so again she'd die. Right, why was it that everything led to death?
Denise sighed and shook her head, water droplets falling to the grass. She supposed that going underwater to then appear some where else to find an island wouldn't be so bad. But wait, she might not even have to go underwater. "Sunsets." She repeated, "Perhaps that would be nice." Maybe but maybe not. Alone would be preferred but if she had someone quiet with her than fine to that as well.
