"I did not say it was for the purpose of manipulation. I said I did not wish my desires to be worked against my own mind." He sneered some, ears twisting forward. "I do not pretend to know everything there is to know about mares. You sort are complicated creatures." A harsh laugh complimented that last comment before he shrugged.
"I have desires like any other. To say that this wasn't true would be a lie. However, how one deals with them determines if they rule their desires or if their desires rule them."

"As complicated as we are, the world does better with us." She watched him laugh at his own comments, and remained calm herself to his reaction. "At least you wish for something that only goes with your will, and that is commendable." Since so many males would do the complete opposite for a pretty female. Hex had a strong backbone, and Loveless could guess that Anevay was a helpful part in that. It was actually refreshing to see, since having one's own pride was the only important knowledge that she took away from her father.
"I can do nothing but agree with your statement." She gave him a slight nod, moving the bangs out of her eyes once again. "Do you find that too many rely on their desires for everything?" She looked at him, genuinely interested on what his response would be.

"I think that, from my own personal knowledge, that there is split in those that do rely on their desires too heavily and those that do not listen at all. There is a balance that is difficult to find between the two, just like there is a balance to everything in life. What do you think?"
His question back was edged with challenge.

"I.. agree actually, though am not superior in the subject. I don't really recognize my desires as utterly important.." It was strange to her that she didn't, "I guess I just know that they are present, and that is satisfying enough for me."
How humorous it was that they had switched directions in the conversation, but now even to Loveless the atmosphere seemed more pleasant and relaxed then before.
"You seem wise, Hex." She said, though not looking at him this time, since it was always weird for her to give compliments. "A good balance of intelligence and strength is important, and I can tell you have such."

"Perhaps you haven't yet had a situation in which your desires have flooded your own mind and you've had to battle them back." He shrugged nonchalantly, though he did grin at her compliment.
"You are too kind," he said with a twinge of sarcasm, but not enough to completely make it sound as though he was discounting her words. "I have had excellent teachers."

Was that really true? Though, Loveless didn't recall having the feelings that would allow her to battle her mind. Since she had barely gotten any feelings from her mother, and only gotten an ego from her father, such was confusing to think about.
She drifted away from what they were talking about, especially since it was complicating for her emotionally. If she wanted something, she usually got it, and that was all that mattered.
"I think.. I was able to run into Ruin, but that is all I have seen so far of your family." She nodded, remembering a brief run in with him and Maeryn. "Do you see your family at all?" She was always curious, since she never saw hers.

Hex noticed the way she tried to change topics and frankly, he was fine with it, so said nothing about it. He licked his maw absently as he rolled his eyes towards the sky.
"My siblings and my father...not often. I see my mother the most. She is more social than my father, from my point of view. My siblings are out causing hell on their own." He chuckled at that. "I hear Ruin has been out and about a great deal and that Anevay thinks highly of him."

"Ruin eh?" The thought made her chuckle for some reason, and she smiled to herself as she stomped her hoof on the ground. Hex had some info on what was going on, and that was pleasant to hear.
"At least your siblings are doing something respectable and right, which is something to be proud of." She snorted to herself, and brought her eyes on him. "Your parents as well." Since hers, weren't. It wasn't jealousy in her mind, but she definitely would get angry when she thought about her family compared to others.

"I couldn't imagine it any other way," he said drolly, bringing his gaze from the sky to meet her eyes, his gaze strong and intense. "And yours? I have heard that your father seems to be an on and off kalona. That he fraternizes with lessers at times, yet has a female kalona consort?" His voice took a tone of disgust or dismay. "I have heard nothing of your mother, aside from what Anevay has said, which has been limited."

"My mother doesn't consider herself a Kalona, just a thing that wastes away and doesn't feel emotion. Its like a fake excuse to be worthless." She laughed, knowing how weak and pathetic her mother was, and how much Loveless scared her. "My father does what he wants, being the Sin of Pride. I can't justify his actions, so I don't really follow behind him anymore. My brothers are the same as him, oogling lesser freaks day by day." Loveless lifted her head and stared at Hex. "With the help of others, I have tried to make myself better then them, since I only had that option."
Despite her background, she was still proud of herself, since that was all that kept her going in the right direction. "Does my family still make me weak, Hex?" She had rid herself of them, and hadn't seem them in months. But, the question she had asked Hex was one she had wondered about for awhile now.

Hex's expression turned to one of mute disgust as she explained her family situation, but nodded slightly as if he understood as she said that she was bettering herself to step away from them. He couldn't even imagine having such a burden as having family that was so...unnatural.
He pursed his lips at her question, thinking to himself about what he truely thought of the situation. "If you want honesty, I will give it to you, as I don't find lies to be admirable in any situation. You are...disadvantaged...to have family like that." He sighed and wrinkled his muzzle. "Your blood comes from your weaker parents and I am a firm believer that blood carries more than just a life force in it. The weakness has obviously passed to your siblings if they choose the path you say they have."
Hex moved to walk a lazy circle about Loveless, his eyes gleaming eerily as he regarded the dark mare in an extremely calculating way.
"You claim you are working to be better than them, so that is good, but heritage and family is a large part of who we are. A strong family reflects powerfully on an individual in that family. A weak family takes away."

She quietly listened, but tensed up as Hex started to surround her. Everything he had said made sense, but she cringed at her mouth as he finished speaking.
"There are many things I realized in my youth, my mother is unable to feel emotions, so a rage of hers was passed on to me. And although my father is.. disgusting in his ways, the brilliance of Pride has also been taught to me." Before her body was limp as she listened to Hex speak, but she raised her neck and continued to eye him strongly. "I tried to take away the only positive attributes I could find from my family, and now I will move on and find strengh in myself, rather then them. It is possible for me to bellow in shame as my brothers do and rot away as a nothing, but something is pushing me forward." She snorted to herself and curled her tail.
"Besides, a Sin should be evil in its ways, and I plan to correctly use what my father should be portraying." She gleamed, showing her sharp fangs in enjoyment.

"Then I suppose only time will tell in what your fate is to be, Loveless. I do not pretend to know everything there is to know about inner strength in all kalona. Especially females." It was common knowledge that females of their race tended to be wily and more dangerous than the males, if only slightly.
He stretched his wings to their fullest extent, having moved to a move open spot, and let the cooler air of the shadowed area bathe the membranes of his blood-colored wings.
"I have heard of these 'Sin' soquili. What are they, exactly?"

She certainly wasn't worried about her fate, and she grunted a bit at Hex's comment. "Time will only allow me to stride forward in the right direction.." A part of her also wanted to laugh a bit at his other comment on females, as true as it was.
"There are different types of the sins, seven total," she pondered for a second if that included Lucifer. "I only know my father, another Kalona named Wrath, and a strange being named Lucifer. I do know that other sins exist, but I find my father laughable in his position." As Lucifer had explained to her, Pride was supposedly the most deadly of them all, so one reason for her ways was to stride out and discover what made it so deadly.
"That is why, as hard as it is to try and understand my father, I know that he carries and ego far above all of ours, so following other Kalonas just isn't in his genes." She rolled her eyes at the truth, and looked back at Hex carefully. "There are some strange things out there, and the sins are one of them. They are a mix of Unicorns to even Kalonas, so they go off on their own it seems." A strange bond, her father had never explained it to her. It might have been the bond she longed for with other Kalona.

He refolded his wings after giving them a strong stroke or two in the open air, then shook the dust from his fetlocks that had kicked up from his wing beats.
"Hm," he said, sounding almost disinterested. "They don't sound very exotic or special. Being solitary or going off in their own direction hardly makes them anything different than most I know. I suppose I'd have to meet one first before I pass true judgment, but for the moment I am unimpressed."
