Maybe tektek or avi contests, they always seem to be popular. I know a whole guild that was based off of just themed avi contest, the winner could get art from certain people chosen or the guild mods. Okay I think I might hurt myself if I try to think any longer this evening.
You could even make it art orientated. Like, the theme is an artist (not from here), and then people can try and make their avvie like a person/thing from one of their pictures, or a painting, etc. Abstracts would be fun. =P

Ok guys:
We make a thread in the lotto section and sell off tickets and the one who wins gets avi art from all the active members.
Those tickets would sell for a lot seeing as how the value of that would be enormous O.O

Yay! My ideas are in the second post!
I love tektek contests... And a lotto would work just as well as an auction.
I had an idea for a kind of 100 themes thing... Based on song lyrics that inspire a scene... For example "You're a loaded gun." (Bon Jovi, You Give Love a Bad Name) could inspire a number of different drawings.

that 100 themes does't seem like such a bad idea, except I'd probably only do 20 themes because I don't have enough patience for that much. Plus it would take forever for everybody to complete their entries.
I really like the line/coloring contest idea. it sounds fun!

~ Get dressed and put on the desired clothes for your avi ~
~ Then take a photo of yourself ~
~ Quality of the picture and so on isn't important ~
~ Just make sure that everything is recognizable ~
~ Important are RESEMBLANCE, ORIGINALITY and COMPLEXITY ~
~ Winner by voting gets,...I dunno...a prize??? ~
Yeah, it hasn't really anything to do with our guild, but like I said, it's just a fun contest.....
To make sure there are enough events in here. blaugh

Some people (myself included) don't want to post pictures of themselves online. So, it might not be the fairest contest if a bunch of people don't participate. I don't know. I might just be the minority here.

Chiru013 I think a large, community sized project would be cool. Maybe something like everyone has an inch by inch square and put them all together. Or a lotto type of art trade thing. I really don't know, just throwing some ideas out. There's actually a world-wide collaberation going on right now that's doing that. You get a certain number of pixels to do whatever you please with. Really cool, actually. I'm new here, but a lot of people do the 100-theme challenge. How about doing a challenge with something different (rather than 'themes')-religions around the world, countries, languages, something like that? :3
