Stresshog
Because his scripts are, for the most part, bad Doctor Who fanfiction. And fanfiction writers almost always write themselves into their fanfics, usually as a mary-sue character. I personally feel like all the relationships in the new serieses are totally contrived. With Nine, it was OK though because while he loved her, he didn't openly show it very often. Ten does/did though. ALL THE TIME.

Only the really rubbish writers do that.

And yes. Rose with Nine was fine, but with Ten is was a bit...eh. I can understand the fanfiction simile as well.

Martha seems kind of like one of those home-wrecking types, I mean, look at the family she came from. She's a ditz for a student doctor, and she come onto the doctor almost as soon as she meets him.

The Rose comments just make me mad at the Doctor, and I've never been mad at the doctor in all his nine lives but gahhh that irks me.

No she isn't. She very "no, I'm not dating him." Yeah, she runs off with him but it's nothing sexual, not till way later.

Well....It's part of the Doctor's attitude now.

I think they're trying to make it seem as though after losing Rose who he was in love with he still loves her and he feels as though he watches those he care about die or get separated including various companions and in general The Time lord. He out of a desire to be with people takes Martha with him but doesn't want her to get hurt. He has always treated a companion some what like the one before him or her(depending). Especially those he really cared about. He in his heart he wants Rose and it hurts more by the way they were separated.

he's heartbroken, by next season or so he'll get over it(more so) but the feeling that he loses all his companions will like it ,always has, linger in his heart and mind.

this is my opinion sweatdrop I hope it's clear

Excuse me, but this post just seems... rolleyes -worthy.

Her father and mother have split up, and her dad has a girlfriend who doesn't get on with the rest of the family. How the hell does that make Martha 'one of those home-wrecking types'?? I actually find that vaguely offensive. Lots of people come from so-called 'broken ' homes and few react by being 'home-wreckers' themselves. And Martha, in fact, seems to be someone who stayed strong and tries to keep her family together. We've seen her on the phone, chatting with her sister and brother, trying to keep the peace when their is friction. Even when she's arguing with her mother, she clearly loves her family. What is wrong with her family??

She is hardly a ditz either. She's had as many ditzy moments as Rose ever did. Talking to twigs for Rose, talking back as a black servant for Martha. And yes, she has done some very stupid things like telling the Master about the watch, leading the the whole Saxon thing. Which was just as stupid as Rose pulling the Time Vortex into herself and playing god (even if she saved a load of people, she made Jack immortal-ish and 'wrong' and essentially killed the Doctor forcing him to regenerate - just so she didn't die herself.

And wouldn't you "come on" to the Doctor? At least flirt a bit? Lots of people would. He's handsome and exciting and has a time n' space machine. He's saved your life and given you a very nice snog even if it was just for genetic transfer. If you look, she soon stops and just gets annoyed at Rose being mentioned all the time. The Doctor is utterly emo and is pretty rude to her while he's being all depressed. She still holds a torch for him and grows to love him, but she stops flirting with him because she knows it's not gonna happen.

In fact she leaves the TARDIS partly for that reason. Not gonna happen and she has her own life to life. Which I thought was pretty awesome.

She's not perfect and I actualy don't like Martha most of the time. But coming from a divorced set of parents doesn't make her a homewrecker (the logic of this fails me...), she's not totally stupid and even the Doctor's been impressed with her (remember the windows on the moon? She used logic. He stopped, was impressed and invited her to come with him to test a balcony), and yes. She flirted. Big wooooo~

Sorry for the GIANT post. But really...

As a Doctor/Rose worshipper, i live for these mentions... can't help it, sorry. Sometimes i wish that they had left the doctor on his own, without a companion for a while. Just talked to aliens and such whilst fangirls like me get over Billie...

Anyone else agree?
