Illsaide chuckled happily, delighted that the other prince had actually been quite nice to him, despite the horrible invasion of privacy.

"Well it would have done had I not been interupted." he said, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "And I got a kiss out of it as well which makes it even more worth it AND I had you practically ripping your clothes off for me."

He knew he probably shouldn't tease the other man so much, but it was just too much fun. Plus Jade was absolutely marvelous when he ws angry and even more so when he was embarrased. He quickly stopped himself before his thoughts took a significantly dirtier turn.

Jade blushed, trying in vain to hide his now even more revealed legs, Illsaide was horrible!! He bit his lip and stared at the Naga pitieously, before the look was wiped from his face and he simply stared at the Naga Prince.

"okay fine you win" he was probably just like all other playboy's,wanted to be told how gorgeous he was. "I find you very handsome and your advances flatter me, if I was willingly searching for someone, you'd be my partner, happy now?? leave me alone" Jade said nonchalantly, spinning on his heel and walking towards the baths exit. He looked and felt like a common prostitute, this clothing was way too indecent.

Why did Illsaide effect him so?? His mind was plagued with thoughts he would have never before looked into, was he turning gay?? oh heavens no!!

Illsaide blinked once or twice. Now that he certainly hadn't expected. Although deep down a part of him was doing cartwheels and dancing a one man naga-conga line which incidently looked rather comical.

Butterfly boy liked him! He actually liked him, it wasn't just some kind of cuter banter thing they had going on that, while fun, would eventually prove to be meaningless. This was proper genuine attraction here. This was bloody important.

Illsaide's expression changed into a gigantic grin. If he could have skipped off back to his room he would have done, but the best he could manage was slithering in little zigzags of festivity. He had to make himself gorgeous for their next meeting, he had to smell nice and turn on the charm and dear God he had to find a way of closing that harem....at least temporarily.

Yes he like the Butterfly prince, he was the first person to admit it. But he never seriously believed that the prince would like him back. Maybe this was, did he even dare think it, the begining of a new love affair, good lord he hoped so. That would just be incredible. Although maybe he shouldn't refer to it as an affair. Relationship? would Jade prefer that word? It didn't really matter at that point because there was still the matter of getting said butterfly prince into said relationship. Yes, this would require some careful time and planning.

Jade writhed on his bed, in the throes of a dream as he clung to the covers he had bundled in such a way, that he had wrapped his arms and legs around them. The night gown he wore was of sleeping kimono style and was currently loose as he turned over again, one arm carelessly slinging over his eyes in his sleep.

"....Illsaide...."

Jade snapped awake, breathing heavily, with a blush staining his cheeks. He shook his head as he sat up, one hand tangling in wavy auburn hair on his head as he frowned. Again?? why was he plagued with these stupid dreams about the Naga??

He had diligently ignored and avoided him for seven days now, the seven days since he had confessed what he truly thought of the Naga Prince. He made sure an attendant was around or he spent time with the King, discussing plans to finalize the treaty. His parents had arrived as well, leaving the kingdom in the capable hands of his older brother.

They had all agreed on the same thing.

Jade and Illsaide together in matrimony would show both kingdoms that no hostility was shown between either, That both were in agreement to this new contract. Jade sorely wanted to go home now, his parents were forcing him to wed the Naga!!

'why is life so difficult??' the butterfly prince thought as he stared out the glassless window to the moon high in the sky, three AM was not a good time to wake up. He wondered if the Naga had kept with his agreement. Wouldn't now be a good time to check??

Jade yawned and slipped out of bed, retying his bed kimono as he slipped his feet into some indoor shoes he kept around, stretching as he walked out of his room and towards the Naga's that lay just down the hall. He yawned again as he approached, peeking through the thin cloth framing the doorway of the Prince's bedroom to see if he was sleeping or not.

Illsaide was having a fairly restless night. The obvious lack of his usual nighttime activities had left him with a lot of spare energy. So far he had managed to get up do date with all his paperwork, finish three novels and half a jigsaw puzzle of some kittens in a basket.

Yes he rather enjoyed the fact that he was being producive for a change but his insomnia was most unpleasant. By the end of it Jade would probably dump him anyway because of his hideous eyebags. He really needed a good old roll in the Naga nest if he was going to get back to his regular sleeping pattern.

And truthfully that was another thing he was loosing sleep over. This little union his father had been so enthusiastic about. Now that was something he wasn't expecting. He had thought the prospect of having a son dating another male would have annoyed the old king to no end. But then again their marriage was a political goldmine as far as his father was concerned and as far as future offspring when, well, Nagas could impregnate just about anything.

Still, marriage, was he even ready to get married. He had always known that he would be betrothed to someone sooner or later but he hadn't expected it to be that soon. And as much as he was attracted and intruiged by his fiery little redhead, he wasn't entirely sure if they were a good combination. Would they manage to get to the altar without Jade killing him in a horribly nasty way.

He fitted another piece into the jigsaw thoughtfully. Only time would tell.

Jade stood watching, the Naga looked a complete wreck!! Maybe taking his sexual activities away wasn't the best thing...he was going to be married to him whether he liked it or not, the Naga was probably going to sleep around anyway, like his father did to his mother.

"you can go back to doing things your way if you want, we're going to be married anyway, i'm not going to stop you" Jade said, moving the drape to the side as he stepped into the Naga's room, looking around curiously. It was his first time being in this room.

"I mean, you're just going to go back to doing it anyway, probably even when we're married" he said blankly, sitting down next to the Naga, staring at his puzzle "political marriages always go like that"

So why did it bug him when he saw Illsaide with others?? He didn't know and he simply stared down at the puzzle, thinking about things. He didn't know what he was doing anymore. He simply flopped back on the Naga's bed, staring at the ceiling. He didn't even know if he wanted to be married and he simply looked at Illsaide thoughtfully for a moment, it had been a long time since the Butterfly had been drowning in his unhappy thoughts.

"you can take me, I don't mind" he murmured. He owned the Naga that much, for being such a witch to him and a part of him thought snake-boy might stay if he let him--of coarse he blamed this thought on lack of sleep--He wasn't going to sleep anytime soon.

Illsaide quirked an eyebrow at the Butterfly Prince and shrugged, laying down on the chaise long he had been sitting on with his back to Jade. The prince's little speech didn't even deserve to be dignified with an answer. It was obvious the little butterfly was just trying to get a reaction out of him. He'd accepted a challenge and by the many headed Hydra he was going to follow it through.

"Goodnight Gingar." he mumbled before settling down and closing his eyes.

Jade sat up, eyes narrowing as he regarded the form of the Naga lying next to him and resisted the urge to slap him across the face. He didn't even care they were being forced to marry!! He stood up, silently dropping to the floor and lying down on it, he didn't want to go back to his room. In the morning his parents would visit, his father would tell him to be more manly and his mother would simper and try to make him wear clothing that would be fit for seeing Illsaide.

"my name's...not gingar.." he said after a long stretch of silence, staring at the drapes until his eyelids became heavy and he curled in on himself, falling asleep on the floor of Illsaide's room.

----
Morning peeked through the drapes and Jade awoke, his muscles stiff from sleeping on the hard ground. He groaned and stretched, yawning as he sat up. His mother and Father were most likely looking for him. Standing, he didn't even check to see if Illsaide was up and instead walked out, acting as if he hadn't even broke the seven-day silence he had placed between the Naga and himself.

"Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade~!!!"

He flinched, his mother was on the prowl and he bolted, running to his room, if he was seen around Illsaide's he'd most likely be scolded.
He entered his room with a sigh, feeling a little shackled about the whole thing, a walk in the gardens might clear his head. He might even ask the Naga along, though Illsaide was being a bit hard-hearted towards him.

Illsaide woke up to discover a significant lack of butterfly princes in his room that morning. He didn't normally display his feelings that often, normally laughing things off when he was really angry or upset. Right now he was still a little shocked that the other prince had such a low opinion of him, and marriage in general for that matter. Was that how they did things in his kingdom.

Sure he was sowing his wild oats that moment but once he was married that was completely different story. Once a Naga chose a mate for itself, they would be paired for life and any promicuity beforehand would be completely forgotten.

And if Jade felt that was the normal way to treat a marriage then maybe he himself would be unfaithful. this worried the Naga prince more than anything. He didn't think he be able to handle that kind of rejection.

He worried over this for quite some time before deciding a long walk would allow him to get his head together and he made his way towards the cool water gardens of the palace, watching the lotus blooms float gently upon the mirrored surface of the pond.

Jade was stood by the side of a large pond in the water gardens, watching the fish swim about in the water. He was in deep thought, very deep thought and it disturbed him that the prospect of turning out like his mother or father scared him to no end. Illsaide liked sleeping about, so did his father. Jade's mother remained faithful and loyal, so would Jade as it was something she had taught him to do from a young age.

"thinking??"

Jade looked up and met the emerald gaze of his mother, she walked towards him and threaded a large lotus flower into his hair, so the open flowe rested on the right side of his head, just above his ear.

"yes, about weddings" he answered, turning his gaze back to the lake. Jade's mother sighed, laying a hand on his shoulder as she stood just behind him, watching his reflection in the water closely. Jade watched a large fish swim through his reflection.

"not all marriages turn out like mine" she answered.

"what if it does?? what if he won't love me??" he asked turning to face his mother, a troubled look on his face. The queen chuckled and shook her head, petting her son on the head.
"he gave up his hobbies for you, did he not??" she asked looking at her son fondly. Jade stayed silent, returning his gaze to the water.

"then, give him a chance Jade, you might like being married to Prince Illsaide" she answered, moving away to resume her walk in the other gardens. Jade simply stared at his reflection, a hand brushing over the lotus in his hair.
