Brows rose as Terasu was told that she wasn't even conscious at the time. "You were?" Perhaps it was for the better. He tilted his head with a shallow smile as she tapped his shoulder. He was glad Atae was making the effort to comfort him, and he felt bed for leaving her hanging. She had the right to know, since she had been involved. "I don't want you to worry...." But now she wouldn't have to, right? Neither of them would because of his actions. Was that something to be proud of?
He sighed and gave Atae a severe look. "No one will worry anymore. Because...she stopped breathing that day." It was a problem solved. So why did it still feel like a defeat?

It took a moment for his final statement to really register and even then she was silent for a moment. That... explained a lot.
"...Killing out of necessity isn't bad, Terasu. I don't know if she really would have killed either of us or not but she had me pretty convinced. ...It's if you start killing for fun when you have to worry." She wasn't entirely sure how she was supposed to feel, but if he'd worried about her being disgusted or wanting to avoid him... that certainly wasn't what happened. It more a sad sort of resignation.

Terasu remained silent as she spoke, puzzling together her words. He nodded and smiled to her, eyes closed. "You don't have to worry about that. I'll...never attempt such things." It was not in his nature at all, and that encounter had scarred his confidence. Was that some alter side to himself he'd have to face? Perhaps. But all he could do now was temper that half and continue his own merry lifestyle.
"Heh, now help me forget. Will you Atae?" Flicking his tails, he tackled the sibling kitsu playfully and began to gnaw on her ear.

Atae was caught slightly off guard and squeeked at the tackle before giggled and pawing at him to try and get her ear free so she could try to wriggle loose. "Yeah sure, I'm good at forgetting stuff." She stuck her tongue out and then shifted so she could scramble out from under him and pounced at his tails.
They both needed some playtime.

The ear escaped his maw as she flitted away and attacked his tails. With a boyish laugh, he turned and pawed at her hair to distract her efforts. It was this lighthearted manner that brought him true peace. Hopefully it did the same for Atae. "So tell me, how have you been lately?" Enough of one drama. How about the rest of life?

Atae made a face and pawed right back at Terasu's hair. "Ahh... up and down, I guess. What with Ed disappearing after Lily... do you even know about that? I haven't talked to you in a while."

The male grinned at the antics, nipping at the brown paw. Ears flicked forward in confusion as Atae continued. "What?!" He lost his balance and tumbled upon Atae, rolling in a heap. Shaking the dizzy birds out of his head, he turned green eyes to his friend. "What do you mean disappearing?"

"Ed and Endless both fell in love with Lily... and she didn't choose Ed. So he did his usual disappearing act." She frowned. "I'm starting to wonder if he's going to be back any time soon. Everyone's been worried about him. Even Endless. Especially Lily."
She wriggled free again and puffed at some grass. "I borrowed one of his alchemy books... I was gonna see if I could learn. If he doesn't come back for a while I guess that's bust, huh?" She shook her head. "That was... a lose-lose for everyone, really."

To say his jaw dropped was an understatement. His jaw basically unhinged and fell off. A love triangle?! "I knew he was acting strange!! Stubborn shrimp." Terasu huffed and folded his arms. Despite his words, he did feel bad for Ed, already guessing his reaction. He took a calming sigh. If he wasn't with Lily...perhaps mother had already spotted him? He blinked open one eye. "I suppose..." He never was one for alchemy. Ears flitted back. "Lose-lose?" That seemed hard for him to beleive.

"Endless cares about Ed if only because of me and Bryna and Lily being friends with him too. Either way someone was going to get hurt that we all cared about. Lily's family is worried about Ed, our family is worried about Ed, and if it had been Endless... everyone would be worried about him. I know things will turn out... eventually..." She sighed and plopped her head down. "I guess I'm just tired of having to miss you guys and wonder about how you're doing and where you are..."
She rolled to her side and batted at one of Terasu's ears. "So what were you doing while you were away? I never got a chance to ask."

Terasu made no reaction to Atae's words, simply sitting back and storing away the information. Pfft, he disliked the topic of intimacy. Just look were it got his mother, and now Ed. Well, he had enough fore-warnings to make him think twice of ever bothering with the subject. His feathers ruffled and he shook his head with a sigh. "Whatever..."
He tilted his head to glance at the relaxing kitsu beside him. A smirk formed on his maw. "Tell me about it. I do miss those days as a kit, just hanging out with you and Ed." He flopped onto his back, leveling himself so him and Atae were side to side. "What was I up to...." His voice was in a sing-song, asking the question to himself. "Heh, good question. I guess I tend to do that alot, ne? Wander off."

Atae made a silly face at him. "Yeah, but you don't generally get yourself beat up on your little outings like Ed does. It's like he's a trouble magnet."
She felt an itch on her side so she turned to look and saw a bug crawling on her. She squeeked and slapped at her side to dislodge it only seconds before literally jumping over Terasu and staring wide eyed at where it had disappeared.

He laughed, both at the silly face and statement. "True true. Must be an alchemist thing, or...something." Terasu blinked as he noticed Atae fidget, before she squealed and leapt about. He too caught sight of the bug and flailed around. "IT'S A BUG!" He rushed to distance himself from the creepy critter, only to bump into Atae. He shuddered and checked himself for any other bugs. He HATED insects, to the point of screaming like a girl. >>;

After they'd both sat around paranoidly looking out for insects for a few moments it occured to Atae how utterly rediculous they both looked and she started laughing. "Ah... maybe... we should... go inside?"

"Eh..." The male continued to pat down his pelt, not wanting any surprises. "Sounds like a wise decision." With a sheepish grin, he padded off toward the door. Besides, mother should be around soon.
