She wanted to back up again, to magically transport herself to her room and sleep for another year or two until she was forgotten. But Reincarnate didn't run from such challenges.
"I chose you, didn't I?" She said in an urgent whisper, as if by choosing him over the others could prove everything. "I defended you, I waited for you. I chose you." To say that she had loved him was too much, true or not. So she resigned herself to the silence, staring into his eyes, willing him to believe her or to push her out the door.
Her eyes drifted from looking into his, to studying his facial features as if she hadn't done so many times before. He had changed and so had she.

He smirked a little, letting her go and walking to the window. "Nice choice of words. Enough to leave me hanging around, but not enough to commit yourself. You said it yourself that you love Daemeon. That was what has brought this entire conversation up. Not only that, but you confessed to always having loved him. Was that the case while you were making those marks with your heels on my bed?"
"I'm mad about you. Nothing can disguise that. But I'd rather have the truth, than what I want to hear. I'm not here as a toy that you can play with, and then go back to what you really want whenever he returns. I need to know your intentions, and above all, your feelings for me."
