3nodding -Learn to clean
3nodding -Learn to live on a tight/early schedule(I can, but sometimes I get overwhelmed)
3nodding -Read scriptures every day(Could do more, but I DO read every day, whether it's my scriptures or my patriarchal blessing, or something else uplifting)
3nodding -Pray every day(I usually can't fall asleep unless I say my personal nightly prayers...)
sweatdrop -Study Preach my Gospel (Kisa has a copy, but I don't)
3nodding -Gain good people skills(I can usually make it so people don't want to kill me when they first set eyes on me... xp )
3nodding -Learn to do laundry(Been doing it ever since I was old enough to reach the knobs.)
3nodding -Learn good hygiene
sweatdrop -Be old enough to go (Still have a year to go... Well, minus a month)

Well, I still have 2 years until I leave on my mission, so I really have to start getting ready. I'm not too worried about the money thing, but I just hope I'll be ready spiritually to go.

Anyway, we just had a lesson on mission preparedness last sunday in AP.
RS's list of things to get accomplished before mission:
3nodding = DONE
sweatdrop = NOT READY
domokun = WORKING ON IT

Uhm... I wonder if I'm missing anything?

lol, yeah, from what I hear, missionaries don't get home cooked meals too often. Plus, meal money is tight too. What's it like, paladin?

1 - you don't really have that much time to cook
2 - you get pretty tired and don't want to make more mess to clean up on P-Day
3 - in Vegas, we got $130 a month for all of our needs
4 - Depending on the area, members may supply you with lots of food razz
5 - When I did cook, I cooked lots so that I could eat leftovers of it for several days

So, when you went shopping for food, what kinds of things did you pick up?

It changed from area to area. I made a vow to myself never to eat RAMAN noodles on my mission, just because everyone else does. and so... I wound up eating easy - mac alot of the time razz . I also would buy EGGO waffles, and bread was definitely my biggest staple. I would have a sandwich for alot of different meals. In one area, there was a member that owned a bakery and he gave us free bread all the time... I had a lot of sandwiches in that area, and used the money that I saved to help one of my converts in the area.

For drinks, usually milk, sometimes a juice, but usually just juice crystals.

Alot of it is just attributed to my not wanting to take time to cook and clean razz

In PREACH MY GOSPEL, probably the best chapter for preparing missionaries is chapter 3 - the lessons. Practice teaching the principles listed at the end of each lesson, you'll be MUCH less stressed out in the MTC.

*Runs around waving wildly.*
One month... one month.. one month...
I get my wisdom teeth out finally in three days. @_@
Need to finish buying stuffs. >.>;

Ahem...
When you get your calls....
Do things that you're instructed to IMMEDIATELY. :3 Y'know. Like Lehi and Noah and ... well... all those brilliant people who didn't procrastinate instructions from the Lord. sweatdrop xp

And by the by, all Toys is doing good so far. xD He hasn't terrorized the Ohioans or anything yet. Even though.. he did just get his first transfer. And the good news is... even in Ohio... His Spanish is IMPROVING! =D

Anywho... good luck, everyone! I'm off to finish my preps and get going on the Lord's errand. sweatdrop biggrin
