Who would have thought I'd use my skills from Biology class on Gaia? XD The G-Virus is like a freaking biologists dream. Not 3 months out of school, and my science-nerd mind is happily chattering away at itself of what would happen if I gene splice the sucker into E.coli. ... There was a point to this reply... RIGHT. If the Virus was originally extra-Sol System in origin, that drifted in by means other than intention, say, on a meteor, the unrestricted UV and other radiations bathing the vacuum of space might only further prep the virus for new DNA uptake. That does make perfect sense! Unrestricted natural radiation could possibly allow sufficient mutation for it to gain the ability to transcribe new genetic code. The only thing G-Corp would have to add is the ability to prevent unwanted qualities from being expressed in the Phenotype of the infected subject. Which considering how long and hard they apparently worked on this Virus, that could be completely possible. If the traits were of a certain gene family, then they could all be chemically tagged, and the host's cell machinary could supress and even destroy these unwanted traits.
Right! a Chemical tag would be applied, and the cells Enzymes would simply "Shut Off" if you will, the negative traits. I'm not sure if they'd be destroyed. It's possible, but then the mutation would probably be irreversible, which is obviously not the case.

It Is fun. Ooh, Exactly! What's that method called... blast it, I did a seminar on it.... Cytosine Methylation! The body uses that anyway to control gene expression, so if the virus was able to hotwire the cell's methylating system - BOOM instant genome control. Plus, if you had further strains intro induced, the tagging could be changed for new and exciting effects!

And Second, how the heck can the division process release that much energy? Nearly all of Gaia was engulfed with a White Flash. That is a massive amount of light energy being released...
I guess there's something I'm overlooking.

I guess there's something I'm overlooking. I was trying to figure out the vial's purpose as well, as part of my DN and LN theory, but I also came up short as for a good explanation of it. Maybe the two of us can come up with something? As for the White Flash, y'know, I completely forgot about that... My initially reaction would be to say that the splitting of Gam-Gino released a massive wave of either LN or DN, maybe.... LN since I think world benefitted from the results more than having the continued presence of Gam-Gino. Unless it was some sort of major Exogenic reaction, but no idea how that would work. @Blind - Thanks for the compliment! xd

Wouldn't an uncontrolled nuclear explosion do more damage than that though? eek
It could be a burst of LN or DN or possibly a even mixture... with the DN's destructive energy doing the damage, but the LN's positive energy being what caused the flash.
And the Vial is an enigma... It could be a strain of the Virus that shuts off the newly introduced Genes and reactivates the original ones using the same process as the normal virus does. Which would mean the Virus would have to chemically tag the DNA it introduces as well.

The most logical explanation for the explosion and flash would be DN and LN. [.Hermes.] I think the huge flow of DN coming from Gambino and Flarn blocked and started building up within them, causing it to manifest itself and take over their emotions.
I said that in the NRGies thread, which I think I can use to kind of explain the explosion.

It wasn't the actually splitting of them that caused the explosion, but when they split, the DN that had built up inside 'GamGino' was no longer blocked and just rushed out.
The huge amounts of it caused it to blast out with enough force to 'blow-up' and cause an amazingly bright flash instead of just bleed unnoticably into the atmosphere around us.

Like if Ian fusef with someone, and then were defused in the same way, would they also cause a massive energy surge, or is that a Gambino family trait only? .....If, we want to go to the other extreme, and instead of some sort of massive reaction, there were a bunch of mules around the scene, that all pulled out pocket mirrors at the same precise moment to reflect the sunlight, and created an impressive display of a super light show.

Hmmm... Brainburp! (opposite of your typical cranial flatulence. xd ) Maye the massive light show wasn't a release of energy, but the absorption of it? The light could have just been collective energy that was being absorbed at a rate smaller than it was being collected. It just doesn't seem probable for energy to be released when Gam-Gino split.

Why, there's a faultline beneath the cliffs! The sheer amount activity, whether fancy mirrors or Gaia-NGRY release affected a Subduction Zone. Thus the land descended downwards. Our NPC friends hopped to safety prior to the land sinking, explaining how they didn't get hurt despite the massive something that went on.
Or maybe the area is above a ancient lava bubble, and it collapsed. Only to re-awaken the long sleeping volcano in the next plotlline revealing a secret something beneath it!

The Lady of Moof Why, there's a faultline beneath the cliffs! The sheer amount activity, whether fancy mirrors or Gaia-NGRY release affected a Subduction Zone. Thus the land descended downwards. Our NPC friends hopped to safety prior to the land sinking, explaining how they didn't get hurt despite the massive something that went on. Or maybe the area is above a ancient lava bubble, and it collapsed. Only to re-awaken the long sleeping volcano in the next plotlline revealing a secret something beneath it! The NPCs didn't move, though. Ian was just standing there with his arms out the whole time, and the faultline could have made more of a rock slide than a crater. The lava bubble seems more plausible, since there is a mountain nearby with an unknown history. But what, or who, could be hiding beneath it?
