Harij loved the way that the water felt today. It kept distracting him from what the mare said to him. Probably was overly rude but if she loved water the same way that he did she would simply just have to understand his inattentiveness. “I’m not overly good.. At talking about myself.. I’m sure you gathered that Miss Tequila.”
“Calm? I suppose I am that at times.” Hah. When the little pony took him up the side of the mountain Harij nearly tasted his heart from the panicky feeling that came over him occasionally. That was less than calm. Harij moved into more shallow water so that he wouldn’t have to tread the water to talk to her. Talking and swimming didn’t seem to be on his list of talents. Haha, there was one thing he was good at.. Was that what he was supposed to tell?
“I’ve not been around much to explore too much yet.. But I like what I have seen.” Okay.. To keep talking he’d say where he went to! “I have been up and down a mountain, went and visited my herdmates.. Both of which are parents now.. And were either pregnant or caring for their pregnant mate, and.. I have relaxed here.” Not too much but he’d not been here for too long. What now?

"Don't stress yourself, Harij. I didn't mean to make you think thoughts like that!" She didn't want him to believe he was a bad talker, since overall he wasn't. He obviously did things differently than she was used to, but that didn't bother her. She never wanted others to dwell in negativity, it just wasn't in her nature. "You are talking just fine!"
She quietly listened, stopping her movements and just relaxing now in the shallower water. "Well, next time I decide to go off and explore a bit, I will have to drag you along. There are plenty of places to be seen, it just depends what kind of area you are looking for." Tequila liked mountains the best, since it made her feel like she could fly.
She flicked her ear when she heard him talk about something else, and she tilted her head curiously. "Your herdmates are parents, then?" It was almost gossip in a sense, and she wondered what he meant by that.

Harij just simply smiled at the mare. He wasn’t overly stressed by what was going on, his thoughts usually were ones that kept him confused and going on. It was nice to be able to think and space out in front of someone and not have them fussing at him for being rude about not “paying attention” or for not being an “active listener” with whatever the topic was, “I am glad you approve, miss.”
Go on an adventure? With the mare? That would prove to be interesting. His body was simply relaxing in the water and both ears seemed to drop down much like the way a mule would do, only a lot less exaggerated since his weren’t as long. “I have no idea what I look for.. I just simply choose to look.” What places did she know of?
His herdmates were good Soquili, so the fact that both were now parents made him smile a bit. “Yes.. Caelen has two baskets.. And Lovey Dovey looks round enough for three.. But she hadn’t had them when I saw her.”

"Choose to look? That's probably the best way, really. It kind gives off for the excuse of 'getting lost' or 'finding' something." She grinned, remembering the days when she would just wander. "I have roamed around so much that the area is all too familiar for me. I hope to find some other ones I have never seen before." She nodded as she finished speaking.
She smiled widely as he spoke about the newly-parents, remembering her days so long ago. "Ah yes, I remember when my belly was that big, quite awhile ago I had three baskets myself!" Well, the topic of Lunaris was a sad one, anyhow. She decided to just talk about the baskets, rather then him."My mate at the time and I were very happy, and now my children are all grown up and happy. Its the best thing for a mother to watch." That's all that mattered in her mind afterall.
"Do you plan on having children one day? It is such a wonderful thing."

Harij managed to grin back at the mare. He’d never really learned the use of grinning but if it was something that people did in public with each other, he’d do that just to make sure that nobody found him overly standoffish. “Is it too familiar?” The mare was new to him, so that made him wonder how long she had chosen to stick around this place…
The mare had had children? She didn’t seem to be all that much older them him if she was at all. Perhaps that had something to do with only looking the age that you chose to act and she maybe chose to ignore the fact that she was “old” Not that she was just.. Bah.. Thank god none of that had been out loud. “How many children did you have? Names?” Talking about little ones had always been pleasant. They were the only ones that knew true honesty.. Even if sometimes parents were a bit unhappy with the answer..
“Oh.. I have no idea… If it happens I will, of course, be pleased.”

"I have a daughter and two sons! Their names are Stellazio, Vodka, and Jasper." She nodded and was warm in her expression. "My son Vodka looks the most like me, and Jasper looks the most like his father. Stellazio is sort of a mix I suppose." She hoped she wasn't boring him with this information! But, she was suprised he asked. "I bet you would be a good baby sitter, Harij! I wish you were around back then." She giggled to herself.
"I was lucky to have three wonderful children, though the only one I see often is Vodka. He has a gnack for worrying about me." She sighed, almost embarrassedly. "Well do you have any siblings or anything, Harij?" She wondered if the stallion had even a family of his own. "I have heard you speak of your teepee mates, I've always wondered if others consider that family." A family life like that would be nice, and she pondered the warmth of that thought.

“Such interesting names, they suit nicely.” The compliment came pretty easily since some names made his eyebrows raise and others he’d dip his head to. All three of those were respectable and strong. “I’m assuming you had all three as colts?” Which would be harder to raise, three boys or three girls? Or a mix of the two? Hmm.. Maybe someday he’d know for himself. The idea made his eyes widen for a moment. Whoa-Nelly. Not today. Smiling easily the stallion told her the truth, “I’ve spent many days watching over Lovey’s adopted daughter and my niece, so-to-speak, Ignacia.” The little filly was probably nearly full grown. He would have to seek her out and soon.
Siblings of his own? In the back of his mind a memory often bothered the stallion but it was nothing that would ever come to him for certain, “I may have a sibling but I cannot remember him or her exactly.” That was true enough and not really sad for him. If he were meant to know then he would know. His herd was his family, since there wasn’t really anybody else he could think of that he knew.. “Yes.. They are. We pick at each other moreso than some “families” do.” Usually once a month the adults had a pow-wow of sorts to keep tabs on each other and to spread good or bad news… The last meeting had as he’d already explained been.. Interesting and the next would be even more-so. ‘Naci would be grown and the children would probably be with their parents. It made him lonely.

"Thank you!" she flushed at Harij, though appreciated the comment very much. "Motherhood has taught me a lot about life and myself, it was a wonderful gift." She giggled at his comment about the colts, and responded, "I had two boys and a daughter! They are all so different, its fun."
She gleamed that he had already spent time with a filly, and turned her ears towards him to hear more. "Ignacia.. that is a pretty name. What is she like? That means you already have some good experience with children!" Since she had heard that being able to care for another person's child was much harder then caring for ones own.
"I know how you feel, I don't really have any memories myself. We could all have siblings, but who knows right?" She lowered her eyelids, worried that she had brought up a hard situation for him. But, when she noticed he had switched conversations, she rushed to listen again. "Pick on each other?" she giggled, and returned her eyes to him. "Well if anything- that would be fun in a way. As long as the picking on isn't too harsh!" She nodded, wondering what things his family went through together. "I guess it shows that every family is different in a way."

Harij smiled easily as the mare went on about her two sons and a daughter. He was going to figure that since she had put a “He” with Vodka and Jasper didn’t sound overly feminine that the first one listed was the girl. That worked for him. “I imagine differences would be what makes it interesting.”
The little filly was unusual to say the least. How did one describe her… “She is.. Not like many others. Her parents left her as a basket and luckily Lovey found her.” He hadn’t been there, but apparently the basket had been on fire… “Her mane and tail are made of blue fire.. It doesn’t just look like fire it is that..” ‘Naci also had constant energy, but that wasn’t something that many little ones were without.
The not-knowing didn’t bother the stallion because things that couldn’t be controlled shouldn’t be fussed over. The mystery of life and all of those things that sounded kind of fluffy when one put them into words were the things that Harij enjoyed pondering most over. The picking was always well-meant or meant to amuse never to hurt although ‘Naci tended to have a prickly temper. “None of us mind the ribbing except when the little one gets mad and burns something.” Be thankful for small favors.. The small favor being that her temper didn’t usually ignite.

Tequila widened her eyes as she heard Harij speak of an abandoned basket. "I.. I can't believe that someone would abandon their baskets.. what a sad thought!" She shook her head, imagining what would have happened if her own had faced that turmoil. "But, that was sweet of Lovey, to save a basket like that.." she sighed, the world was full of crazy creatures these days. "I am sure she is an interesting one, if she handles flames and such."
She giggled once again as he spoke about the flame-child, and she imagined Harij himself getting scorched. "Having a skill like that would be convienant, it could easily help someone deal with conflicts easily!" Although Tequila was a peaceful creature, she didn't like being walked over by others.
With a smack of her tail, Tequila found a shallow area of the water and climbed out towards the solid ground. "I think I am going to dry out for a bit, I was starting to get a bit chilly.." she shook her body right then and watched everything around her get splashed. "Ah, that felt good! I am glad you were able to join my in the water."

Her reaction to the little one’s past was one that he had had similarly and knew just to give a moment or two to let the idea of it pass. “Lovey doesn’t have a sweet bone in her body.. She’s a stubborn mule.” That was probably the most frank thing the stallion had said, but he softened it with a wink. Of the three adults in his “family” she was the one most likely to kick up a fuss or to tease one of them. “Oh yes… The flames take some adjusting to relax around.” He had been a bit.. Twitchy at first.. As he did have a rather thick coat of fur.
Moving beside the mare, Harij sensed that they’d be out of the water soon which was fine with him. That wrinkled prune feeling was something that he’d willingly avoid on most days of the week. “Oh.. But it’s taken the girl some time to control it.” He grinned a bit but restrained himself from telling embarrassing stories.
Charging forward and not stopping til the ground beneath his hooves didn’t squish, he shook his coat out without thinking. Water flew all over and Harij nearly winced… Had he just flung water all over her? Lifting up his head and sighing deeply, he waited to see if there would be a “consequence” for splashing the mare. Well.. At least she was already wet?

Tequila was waving her head to let the water drip out of her mane, when she noticed Harij's response to Lovey. "Well.. even if that is so, the toughest of creatures can sometimes come through at the best time!" But still, for Harij to say such a thing, must have meant that Lovey was really something.
Tequila was about to respond again when she noticed Harij shake himself crazily. "Oh waai.." before she could even finish speaking, water had hit her from all sides.
She bent her head far down to the ground, and watched her mane tumble in front of her. "Well, I am glad YOU are dry!" she said, with a playful snort. "Ah well, nothing I can do in this situation, except really wait to dry off more." She lifted her head partially to slyly smile at Harij. "Unless.. you did that action on purpose.. but that wouldn't be very nice!" She giggled and shook her head exhaustedly. The water almost clung to her mane, it was a pain in the butt to dry off.

Harij still felt a bit guilty but her notion that Lovey was really something simply made him grin for a moment. She was a pain in the rump but a good mare, he was glad to have her for a friend even if she didn’t seem to get along with too many other mares.. The silly chit.
The laughter the bubbled up inside of the stallion had to be choked back almost violently. He had thrown water and then wanted to laugh.. Oh no.. His eyes nearly crossed from the effort to keep a straight face. Most mares didn’t look kindly upon being laughed “at.”
The stallion watched as she bent her head down and once his voice was wholly under control he spoke a bit teasingly, “Yes.. I am quite glad to be dry.” He stepped back several feet as subtly as he could. In case she chose to shake herself out in return. When she giggled he let himself chuckle slightly, “My hair will be wet for a good long while because the braids keep moisture. My two-legger will probably un-do and re-do them later.” It would be a test in patience for him… Oi.. My but they both probably looked a bit like drowning rats.

Tequila let out a subtle yawn, and then turned her eyes to face the stallion. "Well I am glad YOU are dry, some of us are still soaking! But, once I get out into the sun, I think I will dry up instantly again."
She looked at his braids again and nodded, knowing what he meant. "Yeah, but braids still look more convienant to me. I really need to look into that as a hair option." She giggled slightly and looked back at Harij.
"I am glad I was able to run into you Mr. Harij, but a part of me is feeling exhausted. I might go nap in the sun for awhile, so my body can dry up. Since a certain someone got me soaking wet again.." she winked at him and flung her hair so she could see from her face again. "Hopefully I will find you again so we can wander the area, since I am always happy for company when I am exploring."
With a flick of her tail and a nod of her head, the now tired-eyed female gave Harij one last smile. "It was fun Harij, it really was!." And with that, she got herslef into a trot and made her way towards the open sunshine to the east.
