Someone who is new to something and needs help. N00b is somebody who can either be new to something or not but is attention seeker, idiotic, moron-ish and most people dislike them because they are rude, etc. But I'm sure you already know the difference.... cool

No... there's a big difference. Newbies just need a bit of help. Which is why I'm considering inviting a few to the guild, so we can all help them.
A noob, is a user who just posts stupid things, and spams in the wrong places for attention.
If I were to find a rate me thread in the Site feedback forum, then say it's in the wrong place, and the person were to apologize and ask a mod to move it, they would be a newbie. And chances are, they wouldn't post a rate me thread in the Site feedback again.
But if the user were to say 'I know it's in the wrong forum, rate me now' they would be a noob, annoying people for kicks.
See the difference?
