The roof, the roof, the roof is on...

The scare of a lifetime. I only wish I was overexaggerating.

I was sitting in the great room, reading a novel. "Jhereg"... a story about a kid who grows up in another worth with his pet dragon who talks to him through his mind. Such a good book, I might just have to read the other ones in the series.

And then, out of nowhere, a loud beeping sound fills the house. Screeching everywhere, endless amounts of beeping. I ran around, worried about what was happening. Nothing. Nothing. Nothi.... FIRE! I ran, trying to think and run at the same time. I grabbed Cier, knowing he wouldn't make it out alive otherwise, and found everyone. I told them to get out as fast as possible, and call the fire department.

I forgot the friggin' egg.

I ran inside, shivers running down my spine at the thought of the loss. It would be too much. I'd worked too hard to... and that's about as far as I got in my thinking, for that's when I looked into the master bedroom. The curtain was on fire, and slowly spreading across the room. But hovering in the middle of the room was a... child. Maybe not a child. A creature. A Mysteria.

It all clicked in at once. Sreas was a Phoenix.

The fire department came and extinguished the flames. I'm going to need some new drapes, and perhaps a bit more wallpaper by the window. Aside from that, everything is in fine condition. Except my heart. It's still going.

Sreas is outside, flying around. Perhaps getting used to the wings. I am, however, worried about Sreas' future here. I hope the fire was a one time thing, or we'll have to find some alternatives. I can't risk my entire house going up in flames.

But I don't think it will be an issue. I talked to Sreas for the first time, and he was quiet and calm. He wasn't spitting out fire, nor running around setting things on fire. I was scared to meet him at first. If he could set fire to a house, he could certainly do so to me. But he didn't feel hot when I shook his hand and welcomed him to our family. It's a strange situation. Perhpas I'll know more as the day develops.

How did he fit inside that little egg?

Things have just been a little hectic around here. But I mean hectic in a good way. Ever since the fire, everyone's been jumpy and excited. After all, it is like having a new family member. There just seems to be this general aura around the entire house.

I called a family meeting once we were cleared to go back into the house, to introduce everyone and meet Sreas. We gathered in the great room and sat in a circle.

Family Meeting
"Let the meeting begin! Firstly, we welcome you, Sreas. I'm Atriz. The Head Honcho. The Man. El Numero Uno." Atriz relaxed back into the chair.

"I'm Corsel," muttered Corsel "and how did you fit into that egg? It just doesn't make any sense."

"Uh, hey. I'm Cier." Cier's eyes darted around nervously. "You aren't going to set this place on fire again, are you?"

"Cier, don't worry. It think it was just because of the hatching of the egg or something... for some... strange reason." Atriz nodded, not quite sure if he had answered the question. "Sreas, why are you being so quiet? I know you're new, but we're a family now! Don't be shy."

"Hi... Atriz... Cor...sul? Was it? And uhm... Seer? No wait Cier. And Aris. I'm... uh..."

"How did you know my name?" questioned Aris, shocked, as she hadn't yet disclosed it.

"Uh... I don't know. It just seemed to come out. I didn't have to think about it.

The room filled with a bit of awkward silence for a little while.

And so, that was how it all went down. The family meeting went on for another few hours. It seems like Sreas and I are going to have to work to try and fit into the family. He's different, but I guess that's what makes him special.

I still can't figure out why he knew Aris' name. I can't help but think it has something to do with personality similarities and the amount of time Aris spent, helping me with the egg. I do hope he fits in well. It's a little too hard to tell so early on.

Wow. He's pretty fast.

I woke up multiple times last night, scared to find the rooms ablaze and the house filled with smoke. But nothing happened. I'm hoping that Sreas' fire inferno thing is gone for good.

Everyone is still getting aquainted with Sreas, and I decided to take everyone to the park for some fun this morning. I brought the picnic basket and a blanket so that we could stay as long as we wanted.

When we got to the park, Cier sat in the shade and talked to Aris, while Corsel and Sreas went to play with the soccer ball. It was cute, watching them kick it back and forward while I sat on the picnic blanket. I called everyone over for lunch. We sat and had some ham sandwiches and apple juice. After that, we decided to do some races around the trees and back. You just can't have a day in the park without racing.

Aris sat back in the shade with Sreas, who didn't quite feel like racing. I tried to get him to, but he seemed a little shy at the whole proposition. So I raced Corsel around the trees and back. I asked Sreas again, and when he refused, Corsel's competitive side came out.

Corsel
"C'mon. Don't be a whimp. I'll race you. No worries, I'll go light on you because you aren't very good."

Sreas stood up, his wings expanding to his sides. I think he was trying to make himself look bigger.

I counted down from three, and the two of them tore through the trees. Sreas was FAR ahead... and I mean FAR. Corsel ended up quitting. He said he fell after tripping on a tree branch, but I don't buy it. Sreas won that fair and square. Despite his more recent hatching, Sreas seems incredibly well adjusted.

Oh well, Corsel's ego needed a stomping anyways.

Well, I'm gonna go read a bit of that book again.

Not again...

Everything has been calm. Today was spent in quiet splendor. Everyone kind of lounged around and watched television. Every needs a lazy day, now and then.

Meanwhile, I went off to job interviews. I figured I needed a new job, and the best way to make money right now would be something relating to computer graphics or painting. I've always loved those kinds of things - being able to see my visions come to our world. I think I've landed a job with one company, but you can never be too sure.

About midday, everyone went outside to play on the grass. I had just come home from an interview and was headed on my way out to another. Some kids walked down the street poked fun at Sreas for having wings. I've always thought it would be rather interesting, but they didn't seem to think so.

I told them off, but they refused to leave. I don't think I could've taken all 4 of them, so I was trying to herd everyone back inside.

The kids continued to mock my other pets who kept their mouths shut and walked inside quickly, like I had suggested. But Sreas stayed back. I tried to pull him inside but I burnt myself on his shoulder. He was heating up. And it wasn't long.

In one blur of motion, Sreas shot up into the air, a little fireball of destruction. The kids, at this point freaked out of their minds, seemed to run rather quickly. But not all of them were fit enough. I just hope I don't get sued for any second degree burns they might experience.

To no surprise, Sreas' blast caused a small grassfire, which seemed to escalate before firefighters could get on the scene. We were instructed to clear the area as they extinguished the fire, but I made sure to grab this journal on the way out.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

It looks like we will be able to head in soon, or so I hope. The worst part is that I don't know what to do with Sreas now. He's a liability and dangerous. I'd try to teach him to control his anger, but he does so already. He had every right to get mad there.

So what do I do? Refuse to let him get angry? I just can't do that. Emotions can't be taken away from you.

Oh, how I love loopholes.

We got back into the house really late last night. The firefighters had to double-check the house, as well as extinguish a small garden fire that had branched off of the grass fire. It gave me time to think of what to do with Sreas.

Fire - it's an interesting thing indeed. Fire doesn't fall. Fire holds on to the object of which it originates, and spreads outwards. Gravity doesn't affect it that greatly, however.

So I've found a loophole - a way for Sreas to get angry without putting us at risk and starting fires. All Sreas has to do is fly up a little off the ground when he is starting to get mad. In result, when he heats up, he won't be touching the ground. All he has to do after that is make sure he doesn't touch anything until he is calm again. I explained this to him, and he seems to think it will work. I'm sure he can do it.

But my hand still hurts from trying to pull Sreas back when he was burning hot. I'm glad he wasn't at full steam, because I might be in the hospital. The ambulance that followed the firefighters patched me up a bit, and made my hand feel much better. I guess I shouldn't really do anything with it for a while.

So that was yesterday. I just woke up today, and I'm still pretty tired. I've got interviews scheduled at 3:00 and 6:00 later today, so I don't know when I'll get around to updating this again!

Maybe if something interesting happens I will.

Zzz.

Not all that interesting, but I've got more time to kill now.

After my last entry, I fell back asleep. Too much action from yesterday's fire had made me weary and exhausted. So I figured a few minutes couldn't hurt. And a few minutes turn into hours. It's not like I woke up just a few minutes before my interview - I woke up half an hour late. I tried to call and make up an excuse, but they wouldn't even answer their phone. Just my crummy luck.

So I'm writing here now, and I'll explain the incredible excitement that has filled my day so far.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Corsel woke up and sat down to watch TV. How... exciting.

Aris is sleeping under the tree outside. How... exciting.

Cier is building a fort out of napkins and dishtowels. I guess that's exciting, but probably only for someone 6 inches tall.

Sreas is... eating a sandwich. How... exciting.

So I'm here reading my book, waiting for the next interview. Hopefully I won't sleep through that one too.

You can't do that. That's impossible!

Okay, I'm still a little shaken, but I'll try to describe what has happened today. Or so far. Or this morning. Or... nevermind.

It was noon, and I figured that today would be a good day to take everyone to the park to play some frisbee. So I slowly woke them up, one by one.

Cier was already awake, rearranging the "furniture" in his freezer so that it was a little more roomy. I quickly threw some old things out so he could do so. I proceeded along the hall, and found Corsel and Sreas still in their beds. I walked over to Sreas' bed, and shook him ever so slightly. He woke slowly drifted out of bed, letting a big yawn loose. Corsel took a few more tries. I walked over to his bed and shook him a few times, and he wasn't moving. Just drueling on his pillow. Gross.

I asked Sreas to wake him up, as I left the room. I walked down to the end of the hall, tracing my finger along the wall as I went. I knocked on the door - no reply. So I walked in and saw Aris sleeping in her bed. She looked angelic... and big. I woke her up, and looked into her eyes. They were different somehow.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Aris' Bedroom
"Aris, are you feeling okay? You look a little different. Maybe you've got the flu?"

"Uh...oh. Hello. Can you give me a second please?" Aris rolled over, letting out a small yawn. "No, I feel fine." She pulled the covers aside to jump out of bed.

Atriz looked at Aris in complete shock. "You... you..." Atriz spent a little time looking for the word. "...grew!"

Aris stood up, and flew upwards, twirling into the air. "Wow. This is so cool. Flying is so much easier. I bet I could get to the sun now."

"Don't be silly. But you could probably get a lot higher." I turned around to face her dresser. As I did so, I saw the Ryuu flash to my side, as if she had just moved. My first thought was that she had flown upwards, but the roof was still intact. I wasn't quite sure where she had gone until I heard giggling behind me. I turned around, and I saw the same blur. Then more giggling behind me. "Aris, what the..." Then, with another blur, I found Aris right in front of me, staring dead into my eyes.

"This is so cool! It's like flying really fast, just without the flying!" Aris continued to teleport around the room.

"You... you... can... wh..what..."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

So now you know what I know. It doesn't make sense, and Aris doesn't really know how she does it or how she thought she could. I can't even imagine it myself.

Out of all the things to lose.

Bah, I knew I left my stinkin' journal somewhere obvious. I couldn't find it for the last few days, and it just sitting on the dresser next to my room. Figures.

So, anyways, the last few days, I haven't wanted to do much. And I can tell you why too. It turns out that Aris is feeling fairly depressed lately. She was having trouble getting used to her new body. Well, she kept accidentaly triggering "Depressed Glare", an ability that she apparently has. Because of this, no one has found the desire to do anything. It's been a slow few days, I tell ya.

I wonder if she has any other abilities that I don't know about.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

On a lighter note, I got everyone a kitty the other day. We named her Spirel, after her fascination with spiders. She actually has a spider of her own. She's named him Webster. As long as I don't find him in my breakfast, he can stay.

Spirel can talk, but rarely does. She doesn't really need to. From what I gather, she enjoys being the family pet. I certainly have quite a weird collection of kids.

I've claimed a Feien bloom. It might be a while before I get him/her, but that should give me enough time to figure out where to put them. I'm running out of space! Pretty soon I'll need a bigger house.

But I can afford it. My shop has been picking up speed rather well, and it's become my primary source of income now. I got a job offer to paint a house, but I didn't even have the time to take it! So I think I'm all set.

I''ve never dealt with something like this before...

It was a day like any other. I looked outside. There wasn''t anything to do today. Nothing - not a thing came to mind. I walked into the bathroom adjacent to my room, and brushed my teeth. Circle, circle, up and down, make the brush go round and round. Under, over, side to side. Spit it out and open wide. Circle, circle... perhaps I''m still a kid at heart. I reached for a cup and filled it to the top with water. Gargle, gargle... oh you probably don''t want to hear that one.

I left my room, closing the door behind me. But it didn''t close all the way. I hate it when it doesn''t do that. So I reached back and pulled it shut. I walked down the hallway, noticing nothing amiss in my life.

Everyone was still asleep. The sun was just coming up, and it was only 6:20. Check that - 6:22. So I walked outside to pick up the morning paper. Drat, it hadn''t come yet either. Today was going to be slow. I sat down on the living room couch, and relaxed my back along it. The room was lit with bright oranges and streams of golden light. I was tired, but the room filled with such wonder and bliss that I felt I could spent an eternity in. I relaxed even more into the couch, releasing every muscle I could. Everything was calm. The clock wasn''t ticking, the radiator wasn''t buzzing, nothing. Not a sound. I was soon asleep. But not for long...

...the birds were chirping overhead and I knew I had been asleep for a little while, if anything. The shop could go without me another day. All I needed was another big sale and I''d have enough to last me the year. So I sat up, and looked around.

Strange. The clock read 11:24. Usually everyone was up by now. I walked to the fridge and opened up the freezer compartment. Cier wasn''t there, so he must have been somewhere. I walked down the halls, opening the doors. No one was here. Panic started to set in. Were they in my room? No. Nowhere. I ran along the hall, back and forward.

Nothing.

Nowhere.

I ran towards the kitchen and grabbed my keys and...

...there was a note.

''Hey Triz! I took Aris, Cier and Sreas to the park. We''re going to play by the water, so bring your bathing suit if you come! You were just too peaceful sitting there, that I couldn''t wake you...''

...then, almost on cue, the phone rang. I hope they knew that Sreas couldn''t swim... "Hello?"

"Hello. Mr. Mertsis? We''re calling to inform you that your... son, ''Sreas'' has been badly injured near the Fallsgrove Park. If you could get down here as soon as possibly we would appreciate it. We need to know if we can take him to the hospital without your presence..."

The panic didn''t leave me. "Yes. Take him. I''ll be there in a minute... just...just take him right away." And I was off.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

I arrived at the hospital yesterday, at around noon. I didn''t know much about what happened. I could only hope. I was desperate to find Sreas, because they wouldn''t know he was a Phoenix. After relentless searching, I found him in room 419. We went through a long discussion about what happened and what Sreas was.

As it turns out, The lake water was extremely cold, despite the time of year. Since the lake was Oligotrophic, it was very deep. When Sreas jumped in off the boat dock, the water extinguished his flames and he tumbled towards the bottom of the lake. Since everyone reacted fast, he was saved quickly, but was suffering from extreme injuries. Dr. Ao didn''t know what to do next.

"I''ve never experienced something like this before. From what I gather, the only way for him to restore energy is extreme heat. At this moment, a modified incubator is being made with his dimensions in mind. It''s never been done before, so its a gamble. But we don''t have any other choice."

So I had no option.

I walked into his room and checked on him. His skin was pale and gleamed a bluish color in the light. He was in a coma, completely unconscious and unaware of the outside world. I felt horrible and helpless.

I ran home to get some things, like this journal, and then stayed overnight. None of us have left his side since the catastrophe.

Don't fall. You can't fall.

I found myself running down the stairs. Down look left, you''ll only get scared.

I ran... forward. Curving with the stone on my right.

Keep the pattern. Right, left, right, left... breathe... don''t stop. He''s coming. There probably isn''t a way out, but its all you can hope for. Right, left, right, left... breathe... there it is. The exit. But as I got closer, I realized that it faded away.

I was still running down the stairs. I could hear him behind me. But I kept running.

He can''t be getting any closer. Just don''t look back, or he''ll come faster. Keep your footing.

And I tripped. I tumbled down the stairs. I braced myself, to fall, but I was at the bottom. It was there. I looked ahead of me. Nothing. Not an exit anywhere. I turned around to see him coming towards me. The monster. I couldn''t tell what he looked like in the darkness, but all I knew was this was the end.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

There is something startling about waking up from a nightmare knowing that its not real. The only feeling worse is when you wake up and it is real. I was somewhere in between those stages when I awoke this morning. You never get that relief... that "Whew, it was only a dream." feeling that you hear of in stories. You panic. Sure, you know it was a nightmare, but its at times like these that the fine line between reality and unrealistic seems very fine indeed.

That was the second one tonight. I guess its not until after you wake up that you realize how impossible your dreams can be. A monster? Stairs? Tripping? Ends the come from nowhere? How could it fool me.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

It was 5:00 in the morning when I first woke up. Sure, it was passed visiting hours, but they needed me here should something went wrong. And I wouldn''t be able to stay at home after this. I needed to be here. In the same room as everyone.

They all still seemed to be asleep.... well, almost everyone. Cier was over in the corner his features lit solely by the flourescent nightlight installed in the wall.

He wasn''t crying, which is hard for someone made of ice to do. I guess you can only cry so much. After a while, your tears are replaced by an emptiness that leaves you not knowing which emotion is the right one. You can search all you like for the right emotion, but it never replace that feeling of being torn from the inside. I walked over and picked him up. He sat on my shoulder and we walked towards Sreas.

You could hear the sounds of a nurse walking past the room.

Sreas'' box was gleaming red, the way it had been for hours. You could barely make out his features through the steam. You could tell that the inside of the box was hot. Burning hot. But the outside was cold.

I fell back asleep, only to be woken by the sound of a kid running down the nearby hall and being stopped by a doctor.

"Sorry sir, I just need to..."

That was all I could make out before the voice faded away, into nothing. I fell back asleep, knowing there was nothing I could do now.

'Oh no! My baby!'

The last few days have been a blur. I've gone home a few times, but I've pretty much stayed right here - right here beside Sreas. I think I've created a permanent groove in the chair. You can actually see the outline of where I've sat for the last few days.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Enough babbling, I'm missing the important part! For the past few days, nothing has happened inside the chamber. It's just held that same red glow. It was yesterday night that I started to panic. The monitor attached to the chamber started beeping rapidly out of nowhere. I was worried that something was happening to my baby. I pressed the nurse call button so many times that my fingers went numb. I kept wondering if I had actually pressed it, or if I just thought I had. 30 seconds, and apparently 11 clicks. That's pretty sad... and probably a record. The nurse came in pretty worried, but when I showed her what was wrong, her face went instantly calm.

"Doctor Ao, please come to room 419. Dr. Ao to room 419." She stepped away from the intercom and started preparing things for the doctor.

"Don't worry, he'll be fine. That tone is just to let us know he's regained consciousness."

I looked down to see him slowly opening his eyes. I almost wanted to scoop him out of there, but the doctor came in and did... something. I was just too happy to remember anything from then on.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

So the past few hours have been like a ticking time bomb. I know I can't take him home yet - it wont be until later tonight that I'm allowed to do that. But I've been sitting at his side, just waiting. I'm relieved and anxious, all at the same time.

Safe and sound...

I guess I haven't been around enough lately to use this journal, but I'll try to start getting back into the habit. That said, it really wasn't more important than the safety of Sreas. He's back home now, but it took a bit longer than expected for him to reheat. My head has just been a mess lately, but it seems to be back in order.

I'm thinking of taking everyone to the park tommorow. Everyone has been resting today, and I don't blame them. It's almost 2:00 and the house is completely quiet. So maybe the park will be a nice change in events.

I lose everything.

I swear this thing... this journal... has legs. That's the second time it's disappeared for numerous days. But I found it. Hiding under the couch, eh? Nothing hides from Super Triz. That said... Cier was the one who found it. But that's okay.

So anyways, I took Sreas to go see that shop where I got his egg. It certainly was a weird encounter. We also met this other Mysteria there...

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Atriz
Atriz walked into the shop, glancing around. He didn't quite know if he was in the right spot, but he hoped so. Sreas flew in from behind him, his wings fluttering as he landed.

So... where is everyone? And who is that... and why are we here....
Sian
Sian walked around the corner into the front hall when she heard a voice. She wasn't going to go into the hall in the first place, but you know her book could wait.

"Oh... " Sian stopped walking when she saw the pheonix. "Hello."
Atriz
"Er... hey!" Atriz said, a questionable look upon his face.

"I guess its been a while. I'm that guy you did a pet trade with. Remember? Its just occuring to me now that I really haven't dropped by since the visit. Er... sorry."

Sreas looked up at Sian. "I.. I came from a human?"

Before Sreas could whisper another word, Atriz interjected.

"No, silly. She finds eggs. She found you. You were just a wee egg when I got you."
Sian
"I remember you." Sian nodded and smiled while she semi- forced back memories of the whole visit.

After a few seconds of that she turned to the small pheonix infront of her. "No, you didn't come from me. Just as Atriz said, I just find you guys... Or get hit in the face by you when you pop out... You were a good egg actually." Sian's face had changind expressions as she said this until it smoothed out into a smile at the last bit. "So, I'm guessing you have questions?"
Atriz
"Many." Atriz smiled, wondering if he had made it too obvious.

"I don't even know where to start. Do you know why he sets things on fire when he gets angry? Is there a way for him to go in water without having a life-threatening excursion? Is he going to be growing again?"

Atriz took a deep breath, while Sreas poked him in the knee. "And do you know who his parents are? He keeps bugging me about it."
Sian
"Oh jeeze, well first of all you are his parent. He has no other ones from what I know all the Mysterians pop out of our mirror waiting for a family. In regards to your fire question, he's a pheonix it makes sense that his anger would provoke his I guess fireyness to become stronger.... Does that make sense?" Sian gave a bit of a sigh. "I mean anger can provoke many wonderful things, but it can also provoke the more firey side of people."

Sian crossed her arms and leaned against the wall. She wasn't sure if she was making any sense at all but she was trying. "Also... I don't think that water is a good idea for him. It counteracts with his main element and could very well kill him. Although I guess it's impossible for a pheonix to die... Seeing as how they just turn into ash..." Sian allowd herself to get caught up in this thought and shifted a bit.
Atriz
"Well, I think I understand what you mean... who knew having a mysterious pet that no one knows about could be so... difficult..."

Sreas giggled. He was standing there, like a good little boy, but I could tell he was trying to look for the mirror.

"Miss... can I see the mirror? And what do you mean I came out of the mirror? Did the mirror breed with a phoenix or something..."

I slapped my forehead in exasperation.
Xenostatica
Xenos walks in with Daemon trotting next to her~ Hello Sian!

Daemon grinned~ Sian, how splendid to see you!
Sian
"Ah, Xeno meet Atriz, Atriz Xeno." Sian nodded towards both of them as she said their names. "And the Centaur here is Daemon and the little pheonix here is Sreas." Sian let out a muffled snort after this. More people yay!

"You're not the only owner to come in and ask questions Atriz, we've had a lot come in. Xeno is also an owner." Sian was looking back at Atriz as she said this but then turned her attention over too Sreas. "Just because you asked so nicely I'll let you see the mirror. The mirror is a portal though... No breeding there, it just kind of myself and Meru eggs. I guess you could say you came from Meru and I more then anything.... I hate that mirror."

Sian let her face turn into a scowl as she thought of the mirror. She had mixed feelings for it, lately though they had been rather bad ones... Due to the last two eggs that came out hitting her in the face. "So, why don't we all go take a peek at it?"
Atriz
Atriz looked at the door, watching the female walk in. He glanced at the... animal... and wondered if it was related to Sreas in some way. Maybe he came from the same place... but why didn't they look the same?

Sreas looked at the horse-like thing. I could tell he wanted to say something, but was most likely too shy. So I did it for him.

"Hello, miss. I'm Atriz, and this is my mysterian, Sreas."

Sreas waved at the pair.
Atriz
Sreas nearly hopped in the air. He trotted along, with a bounce in his step. He was thrilled to get the chance to see the mirror. Atriz followed along behind him, grinning at his happiness.
Xenostatica
~Xenos grinned and nodded a hello~ Hello Atriz and Sreas. As Sian said I'm Xenos and this is Daemon. ~she bowed a bit in respect to the phoniex~

Daemon grinned wide and moved his hair from his face~ A phoniex?! the legendary bird of rebirth?! I'm honored in so many ways. Hello Atriz, I am Daemon the Centaur.

~he turned to Sian~ we could see the mirror? That wouldn't cause any events to trigger would it? ~he thought for a moment~

Wait a moment?! ~Xenos mouth was gapped open~ Where did all of that knowledge come from? ~she blinked at Daemon~ Woodfolk sure do seem to pretend to be dumb. ~she crossed her arms~
Sian
"I hope nothing is triggered." Sian stuck her tongue out a bit with just the thought as she walked to the mirror room. She kind of wished that Naida was here... But she was out with Meru again.

Sian opened the door and peeked in, it was safe.... no explosions no eggs hitting her in the face... The mirror room was there as always, a bit dusty though and there was a pile of eggs in the closet. However everything was peaceful and the mirror was propped up against the wall as always with the sun glinting of it's golden frame.

Quietly she opened the door enough to let everyone by.
Atriz
Sreas walked over to the mirror, longing to poke it.

"Don't touch it, Sreas." Atriz warned, pulling him back. "And don't get too attached. You know I can't leave the others home alone for this long. They're bound to have an argument of some sort. We should probably be heading back now as it is."

Sreas looked down at the floor. "But I wanna stay just a little longer. Just a little."

"Alright, only a little bit longer."
Xenostatica
~Xenos smiled at the two before her and Daemon~ Your Sreas seems so sweet, he is a bit shy though I wouldn't have expected it from a phoniex.

~Daemon grinned and walked up near Sreas and looked close at the mirro~ SO this is the portal to the other world...pity. I would have thought something scarier would have been the gateway. I like this though calming and welcoming.

Xenos was shocked~ How is it you can be hyper when it's Sian and I, but through another Mysterian into the equation and you get all genius-uped?
Sian
"No kidding, ahe is a little hyper dork when he's around just us but now he's all wise and smart, I didn't think he had that in him..." Sian winked when she said this and smiled. Daemon was a fun one to bug.

"It's alright , he can touch it... It doesn't do anything except hate me. And throw eggs at me like this one." Sian pulled an egg out of her pocket and twirled it around in her hand. "But then again it's only shot me twice with eggs. Well three times if you could Naida's... But that one missed me."
Xenostatica
~Xenos chuckled softly~ I just don't get it...maybe he's pmsing or something. Changing attitudes with a flip of a switch.

Daemon turn slightly to Sian and flicked his tail at her~

It so amazing though, something so ordinary could hold so much magick!
Atriz
Atriz laughed, assuming that the other mysterian was quite possibly showing off its intelectual prowess.

"Thanks. He's a little shy, but he loosens up as you get to know him. He's usually pretty calm... unless someone challenges him. He seems to love the adrenaline."

Atriz turned towards Sian, watching Sreas play with the mirror from the corner of his eye. "So it just... throws them at you? That's pretty crazy. I have to actually go through the portal to get the Fweegul...."

Atriz looked over at Sreas, who was trying to climb into the mirror.

"Sreas, don't try to step through it. Anyways... as I was saying..."

Sreas backed up, keeping that desire in his eyes...

"And no running through it either. C'mon, we gotta go. The others will go insane if we aren't back soon. And if I want to keep the retail value of the house, I can't have them flooding it with water during some stupid experiment. Nice meeting you all, I'll be sure to stop by again sometime."

Atriz pushed Sreas out the door, waving to the others.
Sian
"Well... Not usually but it seems to like throwing the ones that we have to keep at me. The rest kind of just came with us..." Sian watched as Atriz and Sreas left. "Come back any time..."

It's like playing touchback tag with a rabid monkey.

I think I'm going crazy. Slightly crazy. Or more than slightly crazy. I've been in a rut lately. A little rut. Maybe it's a big one, but I guess you never know. Maybe if I stopped to look back at my life. Or maybe not. I guess you can never tell.

So I've been working really long hours for the past little while. The shop never seems to close. I've even been spending multiple nights there. I've left Cier in charge of everything well I'm working, but he's only a few inches tall. Sometimes 4 foot humans have difficulty getting people to listen to them. Imagine if you were only 4 inches.

Flatsale. Auction. "Why isn't my fweegul angelic?". "What am I supposed to do when you're gone?". "Is there a place where my fweegul can get together and play?". It's a neverending onslaught of questions. And while I do enjoy them, I can't help but think all the changes I've been making have lead to my insanity. I'm often found rnning around the office like a lunatic. A LUNATIC. Maybe I need some help. No, not mental help, but some help running the shop. Who knows. Time will tell. Maybe.

So what's happening in the house? I've been coming home too late and leaving too early to care lately, but things have started too slow down, and I actually sat for an hour to digest things yesterday. The house is a bloody mess. I think I saw a messier house once, but only once... and that was on a television show where they visited people who wanted to convert their homes into sanitary landfills. Good 'ole reality TV.

So Cier's freezer is a mess. Some things in there are just too old to touch, let alone throw out. The floor is covered in clothes. Although you may never believe it, Aris is the main culprit for all the mess. Yes, Aris, my shy little baby who's not so much a baby anymore. I mean... who knew she could be so messy. Corsel seems to be okay with the mess, but he doesn't contribute to it at all.

And then I walked into Sreas' room. Spotless. I looked at him oddly.

Quote:
"What?" He said, looking up from his book. "Something wrong?"

"Yeah... how is your room so clean..." I wondered if he had gotten hold of my credit card and called a maid.

"I don't like things messy. I feel like I'm drowning in garbage."

It's times like that where you can't help but just smile and think you've done a good job raising a kid. I guess that mess isn't exactly taught to someone, but don't ruin my moment, okay? I'm thinking I might start paying them allowance to do some chores around the house. I figure they're all old enough...

Insanity is my story.

Excuse my philisophical-ness, but I need to think for a minute, and preach for another. Life is a strange thing, seeing as when you think your busy times will never end, they do. And suddenly. And from then on, nothing you do can control your boredom. There's just no way to beat the system.

So why my sudden desperation? Well, the shop has been busy for a while now, but all that ended suddenly, three days ago. No customers, no visitors. No one to be found anywhere. I'm starting to wonder if this business can succeed. I may need a part time job.

I'm started sending Sreas to school. He seems to like it, but he covers up his differences. I'm still worried - perhaps I should let them know he could be a potential fire hazard? Well, either way, I've got work to do. I can't let him get angry, or he would spark the school to flames.
