"Why would I do something silly like that?" She giggled, giving her head a light toss. "You look more like my brother than a plant. You're safe." She nodded slowly as she took a step closer to him. "If you're not with your mother why should I be with mine?"

"I'd rather be with Mama!" Stuff wouldn't eat him then. Mama would make sure he was safe but no they'd told him he had to go out on his own. "It's safer with Mama...."
He shook his head slightly and almost unbalanced himself. Scrunching his nose he glared at his legs and straightened up. "But ... Mama says i've gotta ... not be a afraid." He doubted that happening since he still jumped at everything.

"My mother has said that too... She says that although there are some scary things out there that there's also lots of nice things too... And that we'll never see the nice things if we spend always being scared." She nodded slowly. This was the first time she'd been away from her mother and, while she was a little bit spooked (only a little) she was also happy.

"I don like it." He knew he was too much of a scardey cat to be out on his own. He spooked at everything and had only gotten slightly better. Usually he was okay around his sister but that was about it. Everyone and everything else scared him half to death.

"Maybe you just need friends to make it better?" Her brow lofted slightly. She knew that her mother had Mister Draven as a friend... And she had Trev, even though Trev was her brother. Brothers could be friends too, right? "At least it's nice and bright outside today with the sun and everything... The sun makes it less spooky."

"I do ... i've got 'zuka." She was his sister but she made things less spooky and he calmed down faster when she was around. "But Mama says i gotta not depend on her even though it's better." He didn't necessarily like being afraid of everything he just couldn't make himself not.

"Who's Zuka?" She was curious now... Curious wasn't always a bad thing though. If they were both curious then they were both talking and not thinking about what might be in the woods. "Mister Draven says that we should be able to do things on our own... Even if we know that our family's always going to be there for us."

"'Zuka's my sister." She was smart and strong like Mama so it was good she protected him. "She usually comes out to play with me but Mama made her stay home so i'd go out alone"

"Well... Now you're not alone. You've met me." She smiled brightly, giving her head a light toss that sent locks of hair fluttering against her neck. "You were playing in the water, weren't you? Is it good water? I'm soooo thirsty." Walking took alot out of a foal. Cool water and nice grass were always good.

"cept for the fishies." They were slimy and for some reason liked to poke at his muzzle. He didn't appreciate it and so usually liked drinking after his sister had splashed around and scared them all away.

"What's wrong with the fishies?" She tilted her head to the side as she turned away from him, making her way towards the stream to investgate. "They aren't sick, are they?"

"They're slimy .. and creepy .. and they touch me." That was enough for him. Once little slimy fish side to his nose and he was done. "You can scare them off though if ya splash around a lot."

"Just the big ones... The little ones are cute." She smiled as she stepped down into the water, letting the stream swirl around her hooves. "They're nothing to be afraid of. The fish won't hurt you."

"Can too .. i got bit by one the other day." Plus there were other things in that water that could hurt you too. You never knew what was out there that was dangerous and he didn't want to hunt to find out.

She splashed the water around her hooves, prancing about in the stream for a moment before looking up to Wadi. "There's nothing down here. You can come play too. The water's really nice today!"
