I can see where you're going with the Max and Ari pairing, and even though they're half siblings doesn't stop most people in the world. The more I think about it, the more I could really see it happening, though with his mental and emotional levels standing about his childlike age of seven-years-old, he wouldn't know what to do in that kind of predicament.
