Well, the only thing that Tokyopop will probably change is the covers. That's why I like Viz Media. They sell for the cheapest and don't screw the covers. Del Ray sells for $11.

I like the new cover. The Jap. version is a tad...plain. As long as they switch the characters as they're supposed to, it's fine. (ie. Mikan 1st volume, Natsume 2nd)

Oh, if they don't include honorifics, I will KILL someone. That's why I don't like Viz. They don't include honorifics. And sometimes Tokyopop doesn't either, although they've gotten better about that. (shudders in horror about Hayama calling Sana by her first name in the tokyopop version)

Well, they DEFINITELY screwed up the Kamichama Karin covers. <<;

It's just how the translators want it.

As for Cardcaptor Sakura, Tokyopop had multiple translators. The "Master of the Clow" didn't have any honorifics, but the "authentic" original version (volumes 1-6) had honorifics. Not sure about the original pocket-sized takubon though. But the original volumes kept the same cover while the "authentic" versions of volume 1-12 changed it. They also changed the colors of the art a little which pisses me off. <<;

I don't really mind the licensing. : D
I just hope Tokyopop doesn't kill the translations.

I've read some of the Tokyopop manga, and from what I've seen it looks good. My friend owns a couple of volumes. I don't think we have to worry if they screwed up the pronounciation or not: it looks decent. The cute aspects have been left.
