Hoshi no Miko Atagamay HoshiNoMiko WyndiWingfall Eh...I just happen to like one-sided pairings. The bittersweet idea appeals to me. The bitter sweet aspect is good but it makes me feel so sad for Itsuki, he'll never gain back any of the love he's poured out. The ending is so sad. You can tell that he just wanted everyone to leave him and Sensui alone so they could just be together, and he couldn't get that until it was too late. I know... I'm so lame I actually cried at that part. ^^; If you're lame for doing that, I am too - I went through a good amount of tissues myself.

I like the pairing, but I don't really like the characters themselves. Actually, I don't mind Itsuki, I just couldn't really relate to him. I don't like Sensui because...It's hard to explain, but it has to do with the morals he had and the philosophical battle about good and evil in humans. But aside from all that, I like the pairing. It's an interesting complex that Itsuki can love seven different people at once, and yet not one of them loves him back (as far as I can tell.) Ironic, yet poignant.

Of course, it's my favorite canon slash pairing.
Also, people think I'm weird, but Itsuki's my favorite character.

Bah! I don't think you're weird because Itsuki is your favourite character. Itsuki is AWESOME.
I can tell you what's weird... Kurama is my favourite character in the TV series, but I HATE Youko, he's my least favourite. Kind of a mind twist isn't it?

Random thing to notice but YYH was meant primarly for boys yes?
With all that fighting and stuff right? I remember reading somewhere that the creator originally intended it to get more violent and such as time went on with less relationship fluff [like between Keiko and Yususke] as time went on.
Well anyway it was like, this is supposed to be more male oriented manga right and the creator threw in a strongly suggested maleXmale coupling....
Thoughts about that?

I heard Sensui cared for him back. *shrugs* I dunno where I read it, but apparently he was a homosexual.
I like Itsuki x Sensui simply because they exist. Itsuki accepts and loves every aspect of Sensui - and admits that it's Shinobu though, that he loves most. He follows him, knowing Sensui has every intention of allowing him to die - but they were obviously incredibly close.
I don't necessarily think it was one sided, as much as it was just never explored in full on Sensui's part.

Yeah, I like that bitter-sweet aspect of it too. It's just really cute how much love Itsuki has for Sensui. =)

I've never heard that he was a homosexual, but it wouldn't surprise me too much. The only thing that I've ever heard Sensui really say about Itsuki (that I can remember, it's been a while) is that they were good friends, and that Itsuki helped him realize that not all demons were out to kill him. I agree that they were close, but I just never picked up on any romantic intentions coming from Sensui--as you say, he was open to the possibility of Itsuki dying...though that could have had something to do with how close he was to death himself.

Well anyway it was like, this is supposed to be more male oriented manga right and the creator threw in a strongly suggested maleXmale coupling.... Thoughts about that? No one's replied to this, so I think I will give it a whirl. Yes, Yu Yu Hakusho was a series aimed towards a male audience, it did run in the boys' manga magazine, Shounen Jump (in Japan and now here in the West). There is of course no doubt that some girls would read/watch it, but it was aimed for a male audience. I've never heard anything about Togashi wanting to make the series more violent however... If anything I have read that he intended to make it almost like a romantic comedy with some action thrown in. Of course I would need to get some good sources for my information though, I shall hunt it down again. As for why he chose to add in a strongly hinted Male/Male couple... well I suppose there could be any number of reasons. He didn't really push it that strongly, and remember a couple of the characters were really disturbed by the idea... so maybe he though it could add to the "creepy" aspect of Itsuki. Then again, for the most part the Japanese seem to be more open minded about such things, so perhaps he felt he could get away with it. He could have just thought it wouldn't bother anyone. Anyway, that's the best thought I have for that subject.

Also, if you notice, Yu Yu Hakusho has a very diverse cast. He just threw in one more variation to make it even more awesome and less typical. ; D

Well Japan is more accepting in their entertainment not so much in real life.
I'm not going to try to guess why the creator choose to include them. I do know that he's stated that Sensui was gay and it wasn't a one sided relationship.
