I believe that god made the world, but only as a primitive world, knowing that it would evolve the exact way that it did. The other day I realized how much of a coincidence the world would have to be if it was completely scientific- like how conveniently the sun revolves, giving us enough time to sleep, and enough time for plants to grow, ect.
so a bit of both.
@demoniclan- we are like 90% the same as monkies DNA wise. so yep. oo oo aa aa XD

And for this, I believe that the earth was formed by a vaccum of space. It gathered microscopic dust over the years and continually compacted until it was large enough for gravity, then the rest worked out.
And the convenience thing, we made it convenient for us. It could have just as easily been Mars who got the inhabitable planet, but Earth was the only one livable, because of the way it formed naturally. Though studies are starting to show that Mars was once an inhabitable planet, and could have just evolved before us to the point where life burned out before Earth had any intelligent beings.
And for the enough time for us to sleep, you're only saying this because you live away from the poles. People in Alaska have three hours of sunlight during the winter and three hours of darkess during the summer.
Explain that.

Very good points. And I don't disagree with the parts about us evolving, but unless you had some great proof to show that we really did evolve from primeapes, there's no real way to tell. You can't depend fully on technology. We have no way of finding out the truth, or finding out if what we're gaining from technology is any where near the truth of what really happened. The only way I see it is, if we evolved from animals, and weren't created, then what are you going to lose by believing in something as creationism? Wouldn't hurt to have something, just incase technology proves to be a bunch of crap, and you're forced to stand at the gates of judgement of whichever religion holds up.

What you're saying may have some point to it, but only a few religions actually believe that there are 'Gates of Judgement'. Most believe in reincarnation, or that you just stay on earth as energy. So, your point is mostly directed toward Christianity and Catholicism (which is just an offset of Christianity anyways), and what happens if the 'True religion' ends up being a pagan religion?

Your point only exists if there actually is a 'Gates of Judgement'. So, what you're saying is you believe in Christianity (or some similar religion). So what you're saying isn't even valid (for the most part.)

My point exactly.

Yeah, Bush is ruining the country in my opinion. I can't wait for him to be gone. Hopefully the next person will be able to fix his mistakes.
(Just as a side note, how old are you guys?)

I'm 19, and did you know he wasn't even voted into office? The electoral collage(Sp?) Decided we the voters were wrong and put him into Office!

Poy, our votes don't even matter.

Its up to our Generation to change the way our country is ran.

If you look all over the internet at the right sites, it says the 5th amendment was abolished just the other day.

Plus, if theres a state that declares an state wide emergency, Bush has Dictator like powers.

Gotta love the US of A eh?

Anyways.

I see there are beliefs being posted here.

Here is mine, since I was raised Pagan and Atheist by my mother, I beleive there are more than one god or goddess.

However, I also think the Christian bible is just a bedtime story some fat guy wrote to get children to sleep.

Kind of like the boogieman that kids are told that hide under their beds and grab their feet if they dont sleep at night.

You're not the only one who agree's.

I agree. I'm trying not to put too much of my beliefs (though I do put some of them in there) into the conversation. I was raised catholic, but recently converted to pagan believes. So, I know all about the BS that is called the bible. (8 years of CCD will do that to you)

I'm not much for politics, so I'm usually behind on news (which would explain why I don't know what the 5th amendment is, or that it was abolished), but I did know that most of the voters voted against Bush.

I'm 16, by the way.
