I've been getting a lot of interesting feedback about my animal choice. It seems that several different people question why I've gone with hippopotamus as my base creature. They point to Anthony's imaginative nature and say, "why hippo?"
The fact of the matter is that Anthony, is imaginative, but how you communicate and get along with others says a lot about your personality too. Anthony is very aggressive, regardless of his imagination. While his angst is largely created by his peers rejecting him and his imaginary friend, I feel it cannot be ignored. He will have to deal with it, for sure, but I truly feels it is large enough in his life to cause his transformation.
Additionally, I'm not looking for a 'typical' myth creature. If you think about it, most animalistic creatures could be found within the categories of canine, feline, equine, bird, snake, or fish. At least for Anthony, I really don't like the idea of playing one of those. For a future character, sure, but not Mr. Watson.
So, can people tell me whether or not I'm crazy to consider this?
