Mirko_Filipovic There hasn't BEEN any vale tudo in America (at least none as in an official organization) now if you're talking about NHB/MMA then we're talking about Royce. Now answer this question. Who has Royce fought and beat that had any skill, in the past 5 years? Haha, this is TOUGH one. Incorrect my good man, check your research.

Are we talking Vale Tudo by name, or by rules? If by name, then there may have been, if by rules, then no state atheletic commision would allow an official SANCTIONED fight.

Also, i have posted quite a big topic on Vale Tudo Vs NHB in the ABG, the ensueing arguement that you made resulted in you being kicked out. So i'm not sure if we agree on Vale Tudo.

Okay, let me make the question a bit easier, which Gracie was the first to fight in America?

First off, you are wrong if that's where you got the info, Carlos was the first to learn from Koma and he henceforth taught it to his brothers (I can prove this if you still don't believe me). Second, Algeria/Gracie was a sanctioned match, perhaps not by a specific MMA organization, but it was not an illegal/underground fight.

You never specified that they used gracie Jiu-jitsu, and i'm pretty sure that George gracie, being irish in brazil, probably got in a fight. If not his son, Gastao, who was the father of carlos, probably got into a fight too. And no Koma taught BOTH the father and Carlos, the difference being Gastao never really picked up on it.

Okay, not to argue, but Gastao Gracie was never taught JJ, Koma taught his son Carlos as an act of friendship. And about the "fight" issue, you knew what I meant so there really isn't a point in being an smart-a** about it.

Not to say he mastered it. But i'm SURE he had at least some knowledge of it.
