Well there went one idea out the window.. Not that it had been an especially friendly or openly sweet idea in the first place. “Well.. I’ll be sure to ask Azariel about the next time I meet up with her. I think my children would have fun with hers.”
“Oh no.. He was fussing the whole time because he wants to be with her.” The stallion needed a booth of soothing just be sure of who Caelen was to Az.. Or at least she assumed he did. “Now that she’s his and he’s hers.. Caelen will wander through hell itself if it’ll please his mate.”
The very black stallion seemed to be thinking on something and it made Lovey want to give him a hug.. If such a thing was possible. Children were obviously a sore spot for him… Was it Az’s mother? She’d not ask, even Lovey had more manners than that.
“Oh yes… I’m hoping that all of them will be able to play happily together.” Caelen would probably have loud and rowdy youngsters and hers would probably be normal physically with her tendency to back-talk. Biscuit had been a frisky colt also if she remembered correctly.

Kale nodded once, "I'm sure she'd be glad to see you again, and with children to watch over together, perhaps it will be an even more interesting conversation." A flick of his braided tail, and he wondered if that was all they were going to dicuss this meeting. He didn't mind it overly much--(what else was there to speak of?)--but others...blech, what did he care?
ha nice thought; it's more than anything I ever got out of my mate." Oops, had he let that slip out? How could he take that back? It was a private family matter...one usually handled quietly by Kale so Azariel wouldn't go tearing off and slaughter her mother.
A laugh escaped him, "I would hope so," How many would the both of them have? Both of the mares were too early to really tell. Would Az have three? It ran in their family--but so did two if he thought about it. Glancing at Lovey surreptitiously, he wondered if she would have two or three. Until they were brown--who could know?

The idea of having children at the same time and raising them together with a filly that Lovey herself had played a very small part in helping to raise. Really, it had been a cameo appearance.. But still. The topic of children was interesting enough but all of this was getting a bit too awkward with the more details that her brain managed to put into what had happened and what would happen.
“Oh dear..” The poor fellow had lost his mate for sure and for certain. Her bright green eyes narrowed in concern and on what she could say properly, “I know this will probably just sound trite.. But I think all I can say to you is that I’m sorry?”
Lovey’s side ached most of the time anymore, she was farther along than she realized most likely because of the fact that she wasn’t the slim-slender beauty that most mares prided themselves upon being. Her eyeas danced back and forth slightly, “What brings you out here Kale?”

Kale shook his head. "It's not your fault and it's not her fault either. I'm not sure what happened..." He shrugged, "But she and her two-legger have been gone for quite a while and it doesn't seem like they're coming back so..." He shrugged again, "I'm trying to move on for everyone."
He blinked in mild surprise at her question, "Out here? I wanted to think...and mope a bit, I suppose you could say." He smiled sheepishly, "Other than that, there's really no reason." Canting his head to the side slightly her offered the same question in return, "And what brings you here, Lovey?"

Lovey just smiled up at the stallion gently. She’d not argue with what the stallion wanted to say because he was the only one that really know how her felt. The poor thing.. Why would a mare leave her mate? “You’re doing what’s best for you then and that’s what’s important.. Nothing else matters.” She hoped.
“Well.. This is decently close to Caelen and Azariel’s home is it not?” Her ears pricked forward keenly at him. Caelen had promised to come to her before the babies were born but that would mean leaving Azariel for awhile. If the spunky filly was anything like she was in the past that wouldn’t be a great idea, “I’m coming closer so Caelen doesn’t have an absolute fit.”

Kale chuckled softly, "It's more of I'm moving on so I don't hurt my children anymore. I can't keep moping around knowing that Im hurting Az with every look I give her." A sigh and a kshrug, "But talking about it doesn't seem to help much. Not that I have very many people to talk to." Another chuckle and shake of his head, "And now I'm just complaining aren't I?"
"Ah, so it will be easier for the all of you to get together then? Less worry for everyone in the long run." He raised an eyebrow, "But wouldn't it be even easier if you all joined each other at the teepee? I'm sure Az won't mind, though, I'm sure you'll still have to ask her though." A sheepish smile, "I can't really say much more about her though, she could get angry." A mental wince and laugh, Az was interestig when she became angry.

Lovey smiled easily back up the black stallion. He seemed like a nice friend to have. “Since we’re changing the subject I simply won’t comment.” Anything trite or useless or maybe even helpful that she could say to him was canned up because she didn’t want to step on his hooves or make the memories more pungent than they may already have become.
“I don’t think I want to intrude on others that much.” Her ears were moving back in forth just to keep from holding completely still. “Oh.. I think that the four or five or how many children that the your daughter and I have will want to be separate sometimes.” It would make the time spent visiting much sweeter she figured. Lovey grinned a bit, “If Azariel gives birth soon then he’ll want to check on me.. And as-is I’m less than a day away from him I think.”

A gentle smile and he complied with her words, leaving the previous subjet behind with the most grace he could muster. Such subjects could be swept away to be looked at on another day.
"If you insist," He replied, nodding. In reality, that was probably a good idea. Eventually, someone would get tired of the other's company and the result conflicts would not be pretty, espeially if a hormonal Azariel was involved.
Eyebrow's raised for a moment at her statement, but was quickly dismissed by the fact that any stallion would want to check on the mares of ther "herd" to see if they were alright, especially if both mate and herdmate were both expecting. "That's very smart of you, isn't it?" He replied, smiling, "It will help out everyone in the end." Hs white tail flicked to brush away a few flies.
He passed, glancing up to look at the sky. The sun was rising and so was the temperature, soon Kale would have to apologize and leave, dark coats were not good in bright sunlight in the summer months and he should go check on Azariel and her mate. He was going to be a doting father to her.

Lovey managed to smile at the stallion as he let go of the topic. It was something that would have taken her a few moments to do so he probably needed the same amount of time. He seemed too gentle to handle hurt very well, poor guy.
“I have no idea how your Azariel takes to company, but in truth I think Caelen can be rather private. Not for himself.. But he’d hate to need to punish his little ones and to have two or three others watching wouldn’t be good for them.” Family-wise she figured that both Azariel and Caelen enjoyed company.
Her own tail slashed a bit at his talking. Was he mocking her? No one had ever called her smart before and she wasn’t sure if it was said in a truthful way or mocking. It plagued her mind for a bit while she thought of other things she had been in the past. Lovey was always the one with pretty hair, glamorous, interesting to look at, essentially.. Eye-candy. Now smart… It made her feel a bit out of sorts.
Lovey began looking around for shade to excuse herself to. After all it was going to be getting hot soon and for the love of god, she had just now learned and accepted that she was indeed pregnant. The stallion would probably get hot anyway. Anyways, Kale was looking as if he might be thinking the same thing too soon.

A blink of green eyes and a chuckle, "Ah, I see," He shook his head, "It seems I've been out of the parenting loop for quite somke time, haven't I?" A sigh and flick of his braided tail, "I honestly didn't think of something like that." Granted, I didn't have very many children to deal with at the time either.
Her silence made him a bit uncomfortable, but he wasn't sure over what direction they could go with the conversation. He shifted, wanting to get out of the sun quickly, or at least into the water or some other cooler place.
"Do you..." He coughed, searching for something that would be entertaining for the both of them, "Want to go for a bit of a swim? Or find someplace in the shade to get comfortable?" What had he done with Marina? No, his memories of that would be useless, she had been pregnant through the winter, not the summer.

How old was Kale again? Oh yes, it took Lovey a moment to remember just because having a conversation with most people didn’t require too much knowledge on their age. Azariel really wasn’t that old was she? I mean.. Kale wasn’t that old of a father… Gah.. Questions that she would never in a million years ask.
Lovey just blinked her lime green eyes at the stallion. She was fine with not talking but after awhile it was either time to talk more or to do something. Looks like it was time to do something, fun times.
A soft smile spread on her features at the suggestion, “That sounds nice.. I’m new to this area obviously.. Do you know any nearby streams?” She wouldn’t really swim so much as wade into the water for awhile to get her system feeling nice and cooled off. Yes.. Water was lovely in this high heat.

Kale nodded, "Yes, there's a few in the forest nearby. Would you like me to show you them?" He shifted slightly and moved forward towards the forest. Ah, it was one of the few places the offered both shade and water at once if you knew where to look.
"Are you coming?" He asked, looking back at her from the few steps away that he had taken. He was feeling a bit over-heated and he might as well go for a swim himself.

Wonderful. She was rather glad that the stallion knew where they would be going. “Yes.. Please do.” As she said that and he began to move away for whatever reason Lovey just stayed for a moment. Perhaps her brain had shut off in the heat. Wouldn’t the just be adorable? Ha.
His words jolted her back into reality and Lovey pranced forward a couple of steps before taking a calm pace beside him. Now they were on their way to something that ought to be amusing or at least refreshing. And she was pregnant. Oi.

Kale chewed on his own thoughts as he led the way to the small stream. Silence and himself came together like the sun and heat, but when one was with another...and particularly a female, one should be expected to talk and provide conversation. But what could they talk about?
"...So is there any particular number of children you'd like?" He asked finally and could have smacked himself. Had he really just asked that to a mare who had only now found out she was pregnant? Yes and he was a fool for doing such! Honestly, how stupid could a stallion get?

Lovey just blinked her eyes lazily and focused on what Kale said to her, personally it was almost too hot to have a really exciting conversation.. But a sedate one would work just as well for her. The water up ahead was beginning to come more clearly into her ears.. Excellent, it’d be much cooler soon.
The question made her eyes widen for a moment, and some mares probably would’ve been huffy at the question, but not her. She loved children and so having her own truly was a blessing. “Oh.. Well honestly I’d love as many as I can have.” Of course, once they were born she’d probably be going “oh crap not that many” but… for now she just smiled, “I’d love at least one little girl.. But a boy too hopefully.. Maybe..”
