Um, I had a really weird dream a few nights ago, and it really disturbs me for some reason. I do have nightmares all the time, but this was different because it didn't scare me, it was just weird.

I live beside a wheat field, and in my dream that field is soaked with blood. Animal carcasses and butchered raw meat line the outside of the field, and I can actually smell the blood and the decaying animals. There's another smell mixed in that I found really weird, and that's of dog. You're not really supposed to be able to smell things in dreams, are you?
There's another part this dream where I'm in my bathroom plucking my eyebrows, and my friend is calling for me to hurry up and telling me that I don't need to do that because I look fine without. Next thing I know, I've plucked out every hair and am left eyebrow-less. My friend doesn't react to my lack of eyebrows, and we just go outside and sit by the bloody wheat field.

Does it mean anything? Or am I paranoid?

I don't know.

But I do know I can smell/feel in dreams.

I don't know.

But I do know I can smell/feel in dreams.
Only about 2% of people have tactile and/or olfactory perception in dreams.
The most common sensations in dreams are visual, audio, and body positioning, in that order.
Even rarer are those dreams where dreamers experience the sensation of taste.

I slice meat all day in a deli, and let me tell you... newly decaying meat smells very similar to that of wet dog. It is odd that you experienced that sensation, since you might not have known that.
I would say this dream could possibly stem from your feelings of self-esteem and the pressure to (as some of my feminist books have put it) "prostrate yourself before the beauty myth".

I don't know if you read my earlier post in this thread, but I have very unique dreams...I've yet to find an explanation for them.

Nope, didn't know that...
I dunno, I did just go through a rather messy break-up before this. The relationship itself was even messier, so maybe that had something to do with it?

I know how weird this sounds, but I've been having this re-occurring nightmare for the past few weeks. Its always about this woman who has (or had) two kids and she somehow landed herself into a mental ward (not really sure how). So, she's sitting in a dimly lit white room, crying because she's worried about her husband and her kids. Eventually, she's released from the ward and goes home to find her best friend died the other day. She starts going over her friend's death and figures out that her friend commited suicide after killing someone. The woman goes to this little guest house she has outside and opens the door, because her best friend used to stay there sometimes. The door opens, she screams and everything goes black. The dream shows the aftermath that night and there is blood everywhere, but there is no body. That's when I wake up, either screaming or crying and I can never get the story or the screams out of my brain.
Why am I having this nightmare? Is it possible that my imagination is too active or is it something worse? And, how do I make it stop? Thanks in advance.

I usually don't remember dreams, but in august this year during summer holidays I had two dreams, one on the 26th and the other one on the 27th.
I usually don't remember these kind of dreams, so that is why I coudn't stop thinking about the dreams. I'll write them now:

-Dream of the night of the 26/8/2009

I had moved with my family to a new house. That night I discovered that I could transform ito a demon (black feathery wings, horns...). I could "chose" when to transform and when I did my material body was left behind and my soul with the resemblance of a demon just walked around and no one could see me. The next days I continually "transformed" and at the end of the dream something killed my family and started to chase me in my demon form around the house. (It wasn't a nightmare and I had no fear except in the part where they chased me. I don't remember much about this dream)

-Dream of the night of the 27/8/2009

Someone kidnaped me in the house my family and I stay in when we go to visit my grandmother or in the house I had dreamed the last night, I can't really remember that). The kidnapers then took me somewhere and they decided to let me go to buy somethings. Two other friends were also with me as they had also been kidnaped. I was very scared. I used that opportunity to escape from the kidnappers. (From this point on I am not scared) When I arrived home I discovered that I had been missing for two days, but my paerents hadn't noticed that I was missing. My mother then gave me a book she had buyed for me. It was titled something like "ekklesia" or something starting with "ek-". Then the dream changed as if I was in the book and I was in a place very pretty and green full of trees. I was walking through there when I fell into a deep hole. On the bottom there is a portal and something makes me go through it or I go though it alone, this I don't remember. There I see many other demons (there was also there the "king of the demons") and I discover that I am a demon ("full time demon" just to say it like that"). Also a very good friend of mine is also there and is also a demon. The demon of the "la muerte de la esperaza" (the death of hope). I also had a phrase like that one but I didn't remember it when I woke up. We then go out of the "Demon base" through the portal flying and we arrive at the beautiful place I had been at earlier. Suddenly some angels appear (many angels) and start chasing us. We went to the portal and we appeared again in the "Demon base", but there was no one there. The angles also appeared there and started chasing us through the corridors there was. I felt nervous and scared again for the second time in the dream. To try and hide we "possessed" (hided in) some objects we found, but they always found us. My friend then entered a room and I did the same and "possessed" a bed. The other angels then continued running through the corridors, not nowing where we were, but then an algel entered the room I was in and lied on the bed, knowing that I was hiding there. We started to talk with each other as if we were friends and I remember thinking "he is really good looking", but I don't remember his appaerance.

Sorry this was so long, but I have got these two dreams stuck in my mind. What do they mean??

Sound very much like a dream on change. Death in dreams normally mean change that is happening in your life. This is just a guess but it could mean that there is change happening in your life and you're not happy about it. So you're running from it but it's going to happen anyway.

Looking up a site on dreams (sorry I don't know any) might help farther.

I often have reocurring dreams or dreams that leave me thinking about them. I used to have many that ended in different ways due to the fact that I knew I was dreaming the second time. Like this one:

I can't remember how this dream started, but it ended the first time with me and some other kids being in my cousin's bedroom (my cousin wasn't there) and their mum comes in. She lines them up eyeing each one suspiciously and there's some weird low strings music in the background. When she gets to the third kid (a little girl) it shows her face has splatters of blood on it and the famous 'psycho' theme is playing loudly. Her mum screams and I wake up. That music really scares me, so when the dream happened the second time I recognised the lower music just in time and hid under the covers of my cousins bed to try and drown the sound out. Unfortunately it doesn't work sweatdrop so I still hear the freaky music and that woman's scream.

I also had a dream last night that caused me to wake up early in the morning. The dream might have come out of wanting to see SAW, but I know that I haven't been thinking about that film all week. It started with me in my house with my family starting to watch a DVD. I figured it must have been some weird version of SAW because that Jigsaw puppet came on sitting in a chair surrounded by fog (like those cheesy old shows where an old man would tell you a scary story and say something like "The following episode may shock you, scare you, or even horrify youuu!"). I remember saying a couple of times that my 13 year old sister who hates horror films shouldn't be watching this, but she ignored me. Then I was suddenly a character in the film (and in a way, i must not have realised I was in a movie because it felt so real) and I took off a blindfold to find I was sitting on a hospital gurney on a platform in the middle of a swimming pool. Instead of Jigsaw, I could hear a female voice saying "Hello Hatter, it's time to play a game." Some older teens were standing on the side of the pool looking down at the water. I was like "What? Do I swim across?" but looking at the way the water was frothing, I realised it was acid. Basically the only way to survive was to find a way across. I suddenly found I had regained a previous dream's ability to fly like peter pan and made it to the group in a few seconds, but somehow, like in many horrors, a girl from the group had managed to fall in. Usually in horror films that I watch, someone always manages to get pulled into a trap or accidentally fall into somewhere dangerous! BUT she hadn't been dissolved! So I felt this huge urge to save her and make sure nobody slipped again. I pulled her out (altho her clothes had disappeared suddenly) and started pulling her by the arm towards the exit while telling eveyone to follow, but then something weird happened. It's what scared me the most for some reason. A nerdy secretary-looking woman sitting at a desk in the shadows was speaking into an intercom trying to contact the person in charge (the voice from earlier) and she seemed very distant. "Ma'am? Something's wrong. The disc is jammed... it isn't safe... it isn't safe we have to get out..." She kept repeating it over and over like a stuck record. I think she meant the DVD was damaged and being in the film was no longer safe. I somehow figured that out by thinking about The Matrix when they experienced deja-vu, but I still don't know why it scared me so much. It just did. I woke up after that.

Anyone know what these dreams mean? Sorry that this post is so long, it's just I don't want to leave anything out.

Been starting to have 'dream' issues. Not sure what it is but the only theory i have is so unlikely to be possible it's stupid.

Recently my dreams have suddenly become extremely realistic. To the point that when in the dream, I can feel physical things, and have actual emotions.

At the same time every time I wake up, I am suddenly in a LOT of pain. not like, muscles are stiff, or kinda cramped pain, I mean head to toe total pain, seems impossible to get out of bed, and even just rolling over is hell kind of pain. This happens not only during whole night sleep; but also if i fall asleep sitting around for a few moments, waking up puts me into a ton of pain.

Last night's dream specifically was about me slipping into an alternate reality, in which another me was helping me out by letting me stay with him and trying to help me get used to this reality while I try to get back to mine.

That caused me to wonder if that's actually possible in some level; I recall reading an article about phasing, an 'ability' to move through solid objects and the person writing about it who experienced it said it was extremely painful. Perhaps partially phasing into another reality or into the astral plane in my sleep might cause that sort of pain and explain why it all seems so real, but that also seems so intense and unlikely that it's really kind of stupid.

Do any of you have any idea of what it might be? I already tried searching for any medical explanations for waking in full body pain but all i can find on any sort of full body pain is more consistent rather than just after waking up.

Does this only happen immediately after you've woken up?
