So.. apparently all of these things that Ness had on her made her cool. He just watched as she pointed to spots here and there, and he was dazed at why such simple things made someone 'cool.' He seriously needed to research this term more, it made him feel so out of the loop.
"Does a butterfly tattoo mean you have fun?" He wasn't sure whether to put two and two together, so he just idly stared at her as she talked about herself. "When I see butterflies bouncing around, they usually look happy so, is that what that signifies?" He never really understood tatoos, but he wondered if the markings on his body would constitute as a similar thing.
"What kinds of things do you do for fun, since you like to have fun?" Again he was curious, but a part of him also felt lame at the fact that he really didn't do half of the things she did.

A coffee who would actually have conversation with her. She felt pleased to know her inner convictions were correct. She also felt extremely pleased that he was willing to learn things about her. What a guy!
Ness chilled out with her putting on heirs for him. Some of them were seemingly lost on him. She would have to get to know him better.. or have him know her better before he'd realize the things she felt made her so /cool/. "My butterfly tattoo does sort of relate to my fun-loving nature, but it also represents that I am a free spirit. I don't like to conform to predetermined ideas about me. I just want to be free to be who I am. It bothers me that people say.. 'you're a girl. so you can't swim' or... 'you're a candy.. so i'm not gonna be your friend or tell you're cool. be happy i tolerate your skinny a**...' and stuff like that. I do a lot of random flying about.. and random wandering. I like to think of myself as a real 'fly-by the seat of my pants' kind of girl."
Ness sat up smiling, trying really hard to give him enough personal space... even though she was so used to closer proximities.. it was taking some effort.

She seemed to know herself well, and Kitsune only snorted, having THOSE exact thoughts on females. "Well, maybe you are an exception but, many females I have noticed can't do any of those things- like swimming or whatever." He sighed, females weren't good competition for anything. Their capacities and body structures were waaay different then males, so there was no point in fighting them. Other males seemed to like them for something, but Kitsune would never understand it.
She talked so much that he was definitely confused, so he only watched her with his usual blinking eyes. "I don't really do all of this stuff you speak of so its hard for me to understand a lot of it.." When one was lurky and creepy all day, they usually avoided anything fun like Ness did.
"So if you are this carefree do you have many friends in this land?" Did carefree mean to having friends? Kitsune didn't want friends, they were too much effort and all. He just wondered, since everything was so complicated.

Ness laid there on her belly with her paws out in front of her watching him, her tail rolling here and there behind her. "If you want to call them friends. Well, honestly.. I have two very good friends.. and a few people I hope will be my very good friends..." Her smile faded a little at this talk.
Ness didn't like to talk about friends. Friends and friendships were almost sacred to her, and the ones she had were special to her. Though she didn't have very many, there were still other numas who she did like very much.
Ness looked up at him. "Well.. maybe if you ever drop by and visit me at my house.. You can try some of this stuff. It may be that you won't like it.. if you just like hiding in the swamps. but it could be fun.. in fact, my DDR games.. it's dancing.. but... it takes a LOT of energy. I mean... only someone who is fit and ready for a good challenge can play that with me.. but you know.. not too many in these parts who feel like having said challenges with me..." She moved her eyes away from him and held a paw up towards her eyes to look at it to see if it got dirty from the swamp turf.

The topic of friends was changed quickly, but Kitsune was more happy about it as well. Besides, he didn't need friends, or want them. He was just curious how things worked with other numas, but it seemed Ness had some of course. But maybe it was complicated, yes he knew friends were complicated.
"I don't really venture out that much but thanks for the invite." He nodded as pollitely as he could, and fluffed his hair out of his eyes. Of course the thought of a challenge always sounded appealing, but he had to remember who he was talking to, and of course that whatever DDR was, didn't involve the harsh physcial contact he loved. "I am sure you can find challenges somewhere." It was possible, one just needed to take the time to venture around.
Lurking around the swamp was fufilling for Kitsune, and training in it also kept him fit enough for fighting. It was such a strange enviornment, that he was able to keep busy all day. He watched Ness look at her paw and only frowned, he didn't care about getting dirty, but that gesture showed the differences in where they lived. "Well," he looked away from her, only because it was time for him to admit one thing. "I don't know what really to ask you, I've asked you as many questions as I know." Heh, sadly but surely true. There were only a few types of conversation he could use, and after that, Kitsune was empty!

When he refused the ddr challenge, she just smiled and nodded. She hadn't really hadn't been suffering from the lack of people to play with her. That was one of her activities she was fine to do on her own. She had more been trying just to see if he would follow her or not. Apparently, he wasn't overly impressed with her yet.
She sat up looking him over. "Am I making you uncomfortable? Does that question mean you want me to leave?" She looked at him. She would leave... if that's really what he wanted. But, now she knew him. She knew he was a swamp dweller.

"All girls make me uncomfortable, that's just the way it is." He tilted his head, almost confused at her question, merely in shock that she should have known that already. "I just don't have many more words to use for discussion. I don't talk a lot, so this is awkward for me. I am just being honest." He rolled his eyes and stood up, shaking his fur out a bit.
Girls girls girls, so friggan complicated all of the time. It just wasn't his taste, his effort was limited to most things and girls was one of them. "Why, do you want me to leave?" She had given him another question to ask her, and he almost stored the information in robotically. The meaning of the question didn't appear in his mind, and he couldn't grasp on to the meaning of the words.

"Why would I want you to leave?" She looked at him with a friendly smile. "Well.. it isn't unusual for me to overwhelm other numas. My one friend in fact gets embarrassed if i'm too overly affectionate with him. Usually I hardly realize I'm overdoing it."
She then stretched out her legs and arms each one at a time, starting to feel a little bored. "It's ok if you don't talk a lot. Just because I'm here.. you don't have to feel obligated to talk a lot for me. I appreciate your willingness though. I just like meeting new numas.And.. You don't seem too easily impressed with me in ways others are... so I will have to try harder next time." When she said 'next time', her eyes got a glint in them as she looked up at him as she finished stretching.

"Who said I was overwhelmed?" Once again he gave her a defensive face, wondering why should would imply that. "Affection is strange, so that's probably why your friend doesn't like it." He nodded, very one-way on the subject. "You should be more careful, a lot don't like affection like females do."
Impressed? Was he supposed to be impressed? She was a female, there was nothing impressive about females. "I didn't mind talking before, I am glad you stopped over. But, how are others impressed with you? That statement you said confuses me." He gave out a slight chuckle, and looked at her sharply. "Your games sound very interesting but, they are something I just don't do. But I am sure when you meet others they enjoy those games as well." Everything Ness did seemed more normal anyhow, so she shouldn't have a problem meeting Numas. Others that Kitsune had met before like those kinds of hobbies, so he was not suprised. But man, that stuff was just tooo complicating for his taste, and too exhausting.

"You didn't say you were overwhelmed, but you just seem rather frustrated with me. Usually when that happens... it's because I'm being overbearing."
Ness hung her head down with a sigh. Man.. He just wasn't gonna make it easy on her. It could easily be said of Ness that she had been developing a /taste/ for the coffee males. That wouldn't have been a stretch. Then again, Ness just liked boys in general.
Then, the thought came to Ness. Some of the boys in candyland and the swamps didn't like girls at all. They preferred the boys. When she considered this, she realized no matter what she did or said for him. He wouldn't be too overly taken in with her. That was ok she supposed. Still, she wondered if she were waisting both of their time.
Finally, she gave a meek smile. "Well... I'm not really sure what to say for myself. I guess I feel like I am starting to trouble you or be a bother. And.. I can't stand to be like that for anyone. If I am cramping your style or holding you up from something more important.. you're more than welcome to go.. or ask me to leave..." Her eyes looked off to the side, and she sat kind of quietly. She wasn't usually this quiet.

Kitsune yawned and looked at the female carefully. It would probably be unwise to state that any female was of little importance to him, so he pondered what the kindest possible thing he could think of was. "I have training to do, so my mind is probably taken over by those thoughts." He nodded, trying hard to explain in the correct wording. "You haven't been a trouble don't worry, I just become focused on other things."
He gave her a dim smile and stood up on his legs. Kitsune was so one-way about certain issues, that he didn't understand what the female's emotions were at all. "But its ok, you probably have games and stuff to do too. We are both busy individuals." He snagged his sword in his hand and gave out a quick stretch before looking her in the eye again. He had to think for a moment what the correct pollite action was, and when he thought of it he was ready to go. "You have a good rest of the day." He put his head down slightly, and then turned his body to dash off, in his usual nervous and quick manner.
Ahh yes, the social complications were over for now, and he could focus on himself again for awhile.
(( Told ya he was a weirdo XD But I am glad he lasted this long!! <3 ))

Ness did have things do and numas to see; but there weren't quite so pressing. Still, a certain coffee boy was in her mind. She figured to go see him while she still had her nerve up to be in the swamps anyways. She watched him put distance between them. She really wished she had known what to say.
In any case, it had been a learning experience. Not everyone would be wow'ed with how bodacious and extreme she thought she was. Not everyone would be taken in by her pretty fur... or fun loving ways. Still, she had little in common with Kitsune. It could require numerous encounters for them to know one another well enough to be friends.. if friends were even something he would be willing to have.
