It would be wrong to say that Papina hadn't slid down next to Isdra and was clinging to Isdra just as much. She turned Isdra to face her and actually shook Isdra for a second before she got hold of herself and stared Isdra in the eye. "Have you ever thought that this 'one person' is having as tough a time, if not harder, trying to deal with this as you are? And that the only way they can deal with it is to 'leave' you? Damn it, Isdra," There were tears in Papina's eyes. It was tough to say, but someone had to say it. "If you're so damn independent," she spat the word out forcefully, like it was a curse, "and wanting to do this on your own, why are you here? Why did you try to tell Halcyon? Why are you telling me?" Her voice broke at a shriek.

Wailing erupted from down the hall, emanating from Luna's room. The two of them yelling had finally woken the toddler. Papina swore, but didn't let go of Isdra. She continued to keep a death grip on Isdra as she glared at the other teen, who seemed hellbent on killing herself. There was some mild swearing and shuffling sounds as Alarai moved around to get to Luna and try and quiet her.

Papina didn't speak until the wailing had died down, and then she spoke in a cold, calm, quiet voice, her eyes gazing at Isdra as if to look into her very soul, "If you honestly don't want help, fine. I'd accept that, except that you keep coming to people, telling them, or at least trying to tell them, what happened to you." She shook Isdra with each emphasis, attempting to get through to her, "But you cannot tell someone and expect them to not want to help you!" Papina was trying very hard not to cry, and was sounding bitter as a result. She was also panting heavily by this point, wrought with emotion. She wasn't going to let Isdra go. Not like this. If she couldn't reason with Isdra, perhaps she could shock her into action. Productive action.

It was a shock to Isdra that Papina was yelling at her. Papina never yelled at anyone and no one ever really yelled at her. It made her cry worse to have to stare Papina in the eye as she was telling her the blunt truth of the situation. "Because I want help! I need help, Papina! Is that what you want to hear from me?! I want help!" There was nothing she could think to do but cry, nothing for her to do but admit her wrongs.

"I've never needed help before! For anything! In school, at home, anything! Now all of the sudden I need it for everything!" her yelling was quieter, but her mind wasn't really there. It wasn't really anywhere. It'd gotten to the point of her worring about everyone before herself, to not worrying about anyone but herself. There seemed to be no happy middle ground for her. "How am I sposta ask for that?! I've never known how to ask! It's like teaching a old dog new tricks. Really ******** hard. I tried asking! In my own way, I attempted to ask, but... No one knew how to answer my attempts..."

Papina was quiet for a moment, fighting with her own emotions. The only signs that betrayed that fact was that her grip randomly tightened and loosened on Isdra and that the leaves on her head were shaking bad enough that they threatened to break the stem attaching them to her skull.

... Being calm would get the two of them farther then yelling would right now. Everything slowed to a stop. Papina paused before she took a deep steadying breath.

"... Well," she started slowly, her voice falsely pleasant and calm, pretending they hadn't just yelled at each other and that everything was just dandy. At least Isdra had admitted out loud that she needed help. "You can start by not turning down offers for help. Normally when someone says 'no', they tend to mean it." She tilted her head to one side and cocked an eyebrow at Isdra. "So when you say 'no', we're taught to back down... and I'll admit it's tough to answer your attempts correctly, but what makes you think we haven't even been attempting to answer?" Her voice was starting to rise as she tightened her grip on Isdra, and she visibly struggled with herself for a moment before started again, going so far as to duck her head until she could speak quietly once more. Her hands flexed before relaxing, having become sore from gripping Isdra so tightly before she lifted her head to look at Isdra eye to eye again. "And it's deceptively simple to ask. Start with 'Help me.' It varies from there, but it's a start." Her whole expression was grim. The leaves on her head trembled violently with a mix of anger, fear, and exasperation.

"Because simply put, I personally feel that if you continue on this path of refusing help... you're going to wind up killing yourself. It's suicide." There. She said it.

Her teeth were slammed together so hard that it hurt, rubbing her eyes only made them burn worse, and goddamn it, Papina's voice would not get out of her head long enough for her to think. Unlike the rest of her body that was shaking, her head was pounding and it hurt so bad. It made her cry more just from the pain of it. How was she sposta come up with a logical answer and a question if she couldn't even think about the question with out pain shoting through her body? "I know. I'm not blaming anyone... It's my fault, I know that." Her sheild had go down and she had been struck in the side. And there was nothing to answer for the question she was asked. 'Why?' "I know. I have no excuse... None... I don't even know why I do what I do. It's just who I am. I've always acted like that. Always."

"Papina, tell me, if you were forced to be completely different, say... Rude and sarcastic to everyone, like me, would we be able to do it straight of the bat? No. It'd take time to learn." She paused, now getting a little mad, and glared at Papina, "It's taking me time to learn. But I don't have time to learn. So I'm trying the best damn why I can. The only ******** way I know." She almost spat the words at Papina. She didn't mean to be mean, it wasn't the reason she came. It was just her way of trying to tell Papina why she had done things the way she had.

(("We can't let this get away.
Let it out, let it out.

Don't get caught up in yourself.
Let it out."

I think we're letting it out... ;>> And dang is the process scary...))

Papina elbows snapped straight as her arms went ridged, automatically shoving Isdra against the chair-back as she herself leaned back from the sheer force of Isdra's words and emotion. Oh hell... she thought. Luna started to wail again before going quiet again after a few minutes. Papina realized what she was doing and let go of Isdra like she was on fire and leapt up before crossing her arms and spinning around to show Isdra her back. She was trembling all over. She was quiet for a few minutes before asking, rather randomly, "Would you like something to eat?" Her voice trembled. She had to break the mood. She couldn't really answer Isdra's questions. Not without starting the next world war, anyways. Besides, her stomach was doing flip-flops, and from the sounds of it, so was Isdra's. They both needed to do something to calm down. She spun to face Isdra again, letting her hands dangle at her sides, her face a map of emotions. Her hands were clenched into fists. She attempted a smile, but quickly aborted it after it was clear that she couldn't hold it without it trembling like the rest of her.

She turned her head away from Isdra, eyes half shut, suddenly tense all over. She clasped her hands together behind her back and shyly put one foot behind the other. Over all, Papina looked quite forlorn, almost... lost. Her lips barely moved.

"... I'm serious, though, about offering to move in with you to help you with whatever you need helping with," she said softly, her voice almost at a non-whisper. "... I'm sure my mom would let me, and may even help out with the moving." A corner of her mouth twitched upwards in a wry grin. "She may even be glad to see me finally move out."

The jerk and push went bluntly unnoticed as Isdra tried to figure out what to do. It was to the point where she just didn't know which what to go. There were so many different options running through her head. Run out the front door; apologize for everything; start crying again; yell; scream; lose herself; or the option she choose. Sit quietly and answer Papina's question like a civil being. "Do... Do you have tea?" It was hard for her to say it in a nice tone. A polite tone. A tone that didn't say 'I'm so ******** pissed at you'. It was just as hard to keep her balled fists from socking her friend across the face.

When the help reared its ugly, caniving, really, really mean head again, Isdra actually managed to answer in a way she wanted to. "To be truthful... Bluntly truthful. I have no clue. But, I don't want to say that. I know that I'll regret it later and that I'm gonna need help. So I'm going to say this." A brief pause was given to collect her thoughts into a reasonable sentance, "I'm not sure what I'm doing about my living situation yet, but I will keep you in mind. Thank you very much for the offer. It...It'll help."

"Tea?" Papina blinked, ignoring the undertones of Isdra's voice during the request as she considered before she started to drift towards the kitchen to put the water on to heat. "Any particular flavor?" They had several; little boxes with several packets in each, each box contained different flavors. She nodded at Isdra's answer for help; it was the best she could honestly, realistically hope for at the moment. "As long as you say it helps, I'll feel like I'm able to do something, instead of feeling helpless about this." She paused to give Isdra a sad look. "Having to stand by while my friends are in trouble always tears at my insides..." She went back to moving towards the kitchen and shuffled about inside, finally getting water into a kettle and putting it on the stove to heat. She came back towards the doorway between kitchen and living room, leaning on the doorframe between the rooms, crossing her arms over one another as she kept Isdra company while keeping a watch on the kettle.

"Not really. Anything is fine." Calm had finally come and let her settle a bit. Leaning on the arm of the couch she sighed deeply. It was really quite tiring to be so emotional, not that she wanted to be. But now that she wasn't shaking anymore, all that adrenaline had taken every bit of strength she had out of her. "Sugar is always good, too..." Isdra added as she woke herself back up for almost passing out. Pausing to listen to Papina, she sighed and twisted into a more comfortable, unnatural postion to sit in. One that made her feel more secure. "I'm sorry... It's... Very difficult for me. Please understand that." There wasn't much more she could say in response other than that.

((From chair to sofa, huh? blaugh ))

Papina nodded to herself and picked out a flavor at random for Isdra, paused, then got a certain flavor for herself. She picked out two mugs, made sure they were clean, then set them up so they would be ready to get water poured in. "Lots of sugar, or little?" She generally put honey in hers, actually...

She winced when Isdra said she was sorry and actually froze for a moment before she managed to get herself moving again. The water was hot by this point, so she put water in both mugs, placed a tea packet and a spoon in each, tucked a small sugar container under one arm, and brought both mugs out. "I understand," she whispered softly in response to Isdra's explanation, offering one mug to Isdra and bringing the sugar out once Isdra had taken the mug before carefully sitting down next to Isdra.

(Shhhh.... They'll never notice! ninja )

Watching Papina walk back into the kitchen, it reminded her of the one thing she hadn't told Papina about. Even if her friend doesn't believe her when she tells this, the kitchen made it refuse to leave her mind. "A little please..," the question was almost missed because Isdra was so wrapped up in the thought. It was a horrible thought, too. In reality she wished it'd go away the most out of anything.

It took her a minute to respond, but Isdra took the mug from Papina. She stared into the tea, swishing and swirling it. Everything that used to be vivid was dull now. "Papina... There is another reason I couldn't take Halcyon's help..," pausing, she really wondered if she should tell her about this, but she knew she had to. That was the only way they could make up, the only way they could truly be good friends. "Halcyon.... He... He had a breakdown when I was over there..." The comment was barely over a whisper, not to mention the fact she had said it into the tea, but it could still be heard.

Papina used her spoon to scoop a generous amount of sugar into her mug before handing the sugar over to Isdra. "Another reason?" she prompted when Isdra paused after saying she couldn't take Halcyon's help. Her blood seemed to chill just a tad when Isdra continued. "A... breakdown? But..." Papina struggled to explain why that was shocking to her, and thought for a moment about the Halcyon she knew. "Halcyon..." she started hesitantly, more to herself than Isdra, "... He just... doesn't seem like the type... to have a breakdown..."

She mused to herself for a moment, thinking back about what Isdra said earlier. There was a question she really wanted answered, one that had been bothering her for awhile. "You said... that your past life was coming back... How? How does it come back?" She hadn't had any obvious signs of her past life come back to her, and...

It was soft, almost beyond hearing range. "... What do I look for? What should I look for?"

When even Papina, who was less impulse and more thought then the other two teen girls, said that she didn't expect something, that's when you know that it's a shock. For Isdra it was a very, very hard shock to deal with. A slight nod was all she could give for an answer for a second until she got her nerves under control again, "I... I never thought he would either... But... Godammit..." All her energy was gone. There wasn't even enough for her to be angry.

Looking over the teen beside her, she sighed. She felt bad for Papina, not knowing her past life, but at the same time was incredibly angry at her for the fact she didn't. Currently, it seemed that all their past lives did was add to there list of problems. At least for Halcyon and her it did. "For me they appear as dreams... Halcyon has dreams and visions, I believe. I just started remembering... Personally Papina," at this point she paused and put a hand on Papina's shoulder. It was an attempt to comfort her, "I think you're lucky. All it's done for me is cause pain. I can't look at my siblings without thinking about what happened in my past life... It hurts a part of me I never knew existed."

Papina absently took a sip of her tea before she gave Isdra a wry look. "At least you remember what you did in your past life. For all I know, I could have been anything from a serial killer to an assassin to a... a... well, whatever! And if I had interacted badly with one of the other scroll kids in the past life and they remembered, and wanted to get back at me, how am I to know what I had done to them?" She sighed, fiddling with her mug for a moment before giving Isdra a rather guilty look. "Sorry, didn't mean to explode at you like that... I just..." she stared at her mug sheepishly before continuing, "I feel bad that I seem to be the only one who can't remember..." She seemed to be frustrated that she couldn't remember.

"I doubt that would happen, Papina. I think we're all from different places..." She paused as she thought of the omnious dreams. There was always so much sand, so much dry and always a blistering sun. "I'm pretty sure I'm from a desert area... I don't know about you, but I'm doubting someone like you could ever live with that much sun." Isdra chuckled slightly, trying to lighten the mood abit. Her day had been filled with bad and she really didn't want this meeting to end that way, too. "And Papina, hunny, it's a past life. If Halcyon had.... done horrible things to me in a past life, I won't want to be with him any less. He'd still be the Halcyon I knew." Taking another sip of her tea, she attempted to convince her friend it wasn't as horrible as it seemed. "And it's fine. I'm used to exploding, after our earlier... argument."

"I suppose..." Papina didn't sound very convinced about them all being from different places, but she mentally agreed with Isdra about being able to live with a sun that could set you on fire. She quickly took a sip of tea before her mouth could go completely dry at that thought. "Past life or not, I feel somewhat obligated to remember..." she sighed, "... but I see your point." One corner of her mouth twitched upwards in a smile as Isdra attempted to convince her it wasn't as bad as it might seem. "I'm not so used to exploding, but I think I know what you mean." She looked at Isdra as her lips curled up into a wry grin. "I'd rather not repeat the experience, if that's what exploding is like." She snorted before sighing, both sounding and looking wiped out. "It just leaves you feeling empty and tired afterwards..." Papina didn't sound very convinced over all, but she was willing to drop that entire line of conversation of Isdra was.

More than willing actually. She mentally searched for another topic while she took a few sips of tea. About the only thing that came up was the fact that Isdra had a boyfriend, but Papina really didn't want to risk Isdra getting mad again. Well... she was out of ideas. She glanced at Isdra to try and catch a clue of just what the other teen wanted to talk about next.
