There really isn't concrete evidence for any theories.

Agent Manketsu Twizted Child Eve Hmmm... he could have immunity to light. It's an interesting theory. *Gasp* Day Walkers!? They could be Darren Shan vampires. Totally unlike classical vampire legends. ;D

I would think that Gaia would try to adhere to old superstitions when it comes to Vampires.
Anything else would require originality, and everyone knows that repetition and parody are the backbones of Gaia. (Multiple backbones?)

Anything else would require originality, and everyone knows that repetition and parody are the backbones of Gaia. (Multiple backbones?) Vertebrae (spelling?) of the backbone of Gaia. But yes, I suppose you're right. Maybe Ian is a vampire and Rufus is impersonating him because they're shapeshifters. Rufus (when in Ian form) has his face covered because he still looks slightly feline. ;D

Rufus (when in Ian form) has his face covered because he still looks slightly feline. ;D So Rufus is hiding his face because he's impersonating a vampire but also hiding his face because he might be recognized. So the Ian we see isn't actually a vampire, but a cat impersonating a vampire. The vampire Ian is somewhere else, or dead (or undead).
My brain just exploded. Again (Yes, my brain has exploded multiple times. The inside of my skull looks like the inside of a microwave after chili was cooked for too long (I know from experience)).

His cat is actually an alien shapeshifter who prefers the shape of the cat, and the amount of time he spends in that form makes it more difficult to change completely.
