Intombi was the queen of avoiding conflict. She hated it, more so than the leopards seemed to hate the lions. Conflict in any shape or form made her uneasy, and she tended to completely drop her opinions if a conversation was leading down that road. Not the best way to handle the situation, but it had kept her from getting into a heated arguement her entire life, which was exactly what she wanted.
"Well that's no fun. You've got to explore." She immediately stood up. "There are lots of good places to go around here. It just depends on what you like. Water holes, Pride Rock..." She trailed off, her gaze switching from Janja to the pride territory. "Do you like swimming or sight seeing or what?" Hopefully, the black lioness wouldn't say swimming. Intombi would show the other where a water hole was, but she wouldn't go in.I It would be more enjoyable if they went sight seeing, but she'd leave it up to her new company. After all, she'd seen pretty much all of the Pridelands. It was nothing new for her.

"Oh?" Janja perked up with interest when Intombi declared the need to explore, and how there were certain interesting spots to go to if she knew what she wanted to find. Honestly, Janja had not considered exactly what she wanted to find when she was here, only that she wanted to do something other than sit around idly any longer. She took her time answering the questions that the juvenile posed.
"I like it all, but sight-seeing sounds most appealing," she said finally, grinning and tearing her glance from the lands behind Intombi to the the lioness herself, "I just figured I would take a look around at what I could without being gone too long. Is there anything worth seeing near here?"

Intombi was mildly relieved that Janja simply wanted to sight see. That meant she'd have a lot more fun with the day. As to what to show her... she was at a loss. There wasn't really too much nearby. Well, there were the termite mounds. Those were probablly the closest, but they might not be as interesting as, say, Pride Rock. It could be a pretty fun place, though. Intombi had been there once and had climbed the tallest mound with a bit of difficulty. Once she had reached the top, several termites flew out of the hole and into her face. She had ended up falling backwards, but had enjoyed every second of it.
"Well... The closest thing is the termite mounds." Her eyes focused on the older lioness. "Pride Rock is a little bit of a walk, but it's pretty awesome to see up close. It's huge." She nodded enthusiastically. The first time she had seen the large rock up close, she had been shocked at just how massive it was. "If you're worried about time, though, probablly the termite mounds are the best bet. It doesn't sound great, but it's better once you're there." She gave a half-hearted smile. it was quite possible that Janja had seen her air share of termite mounds on the journey here from the Jungle, and there might even be some in the trees she called home. They were still pretty impressive, though, if you didn't have a fear of large bugs.

"I shouldn't go too far," she said reluctantly, for while Janja had taken charge for herself and gone off to look for something to do or something to see, she wasn't sure how pleased her parents would be, or how gracefully she would handle if she accidentally found a relative of hers. The mention of the termite mounds seemed to interest the young lioness nicely, she'd never seen such a thing and that always made things more inviting.
"That's sounds fantastic, I'd love to see the termite mounds," Janja said brightly, "Which way?"

At the question of which way, Intombi looked a little bit like an antelope caught in a lion's gaze. Which way were the termite mounds? She looked around her for a few moments, sniffed the air, and then looked back at Janja uneasily. "Uh... haha, funny you should ask that. They're, uhmm, this way!" She trotted off towards the west, going with her gut instinct. If Pride Rock was that-a-way, that had to mean that the termites were this-a-way. Or at least, that's th way she figured it.
While she padded along through the savannah grass, she figured the conversation might as well keep going. "Soo.. Do you like it here?" She turned her gaze to the other lion. The Jungle sounded quite nice, but there was just something about the Pridelands... In her opinion, at least. "I pretty much love it."

Janja had to smile and hold back a laugh at the look Intombi got on her face when asked which way it was to the termite mounds. She waited patiently for Intombi to figure it out, and easily trusted the direction she finally announced it to be in. Worst case scenario, they went the wrong way and ended up exploring a different area of the Pridelands. With a confident nod, Janja got to her feet and followed after Intombi as she led the way to the termite mounds.
"I like it here so far, but I haven't seen a great deal of it," she commented, taking a look at their surroundings, "It's hugely different from the Jungle, but I'll get used to it the longer we're here."

The young lioness nodded her understanding as she padded along. For her, the Pridelands had been an instant fascination and quick love. When she was a small cub, she had begun leaving the den and exploring. It wasn't long at all before she started entering the territory unknowningly, and not much longer until she started meeting Pridelanders. Everything had seemed mystical here, and as she grew older she started enjoying the social stimulus she received when in the Pridelands as opposed to meandering about the rogue area. It became apparent after a short while that this was the place she had to live when she was old enough to leave behind her mother forever. That day grew closer with every passing hour, and she was really looking forward to it. There was a little bit of a jittery feeling at the thought of cutting ties with family, but it was still quite exciting.
After a short walk, they came to the termite mounds. Intombi was honestly releived, and that emotion came through vividly on her features. "Ahhh, here they are. The termite mounds." Large sand castle like structures rose from the ground around them. Some were as tall as trees, so it seemed, and others were only as tall as Intombi's shoulders. It was quite the sight.

Janja followed closely after the younger lioness, keen on seeing whatever it was that they would find. She knew the risk she took going in a strange direction with someone who didn't seem entirely sure where she was going, but she was more than willing to go along with it- she would know how to find her way back if she had to. Any relief Intombi showed when they arrived at the termite mounds went unnoticed as Janja's eyes went right to the giant hills all around them.
"Wow," she murmured, sounding and looking very impressed at the distance they were at. She took a moment to admire them distantly before taking the lead for herself and jogging closer to get a better look.

Intombi smiled proudly at the look on Janja's face. Sure, it wasn't her birthplace or her technical home that was aweing the other lioness, but it was the place where she felt most at home, and that had to go for something. She stood behind for a moment or so as the other took the lead, looking around at the tall towers of dirt herself. They really were quite impressive. "To think, little bugs smaller than my claw made these, y'know?" There was a tone of respect in the juvenile's voice. She was certain she could never make anything this large, and she was at least several thousand times large than these little work horses.
Taking a couple of strides as to be next to Janja and in front of one of the smaller towers, she smirked a little. "Watch this." With all of her weight, she crashed onto the side of one of the mounds. It didn't even crack the fortress, but the sound she made vibrated through the tunnels and shafts inside. She took a few steps back to watch the show. With in the second, thousands of flying bugs flew upward into the sky, their wings glittering in the sunlight.

Janja stepped as close as she dared to the giant termite mounds, unsure of their stability or how much of a disturbance she might present by getting too close. She didn't want to disturb them, but she'd never really seen anything like this before and wasn't sure she'd seen a termite up close either. It was very intriguing!
She murmured in agreement at Intombi's comment, stepping closer and closer to one particular mound and pawing at it gently to test it out. Janja's experimenting was interrupted by Intombi's call, and as soon as Janja looked up she saw the other lioness lunge at one of the amazing structures. Janja couldn't help but wince, worried that it might be knocked over, but quickly realized it was tougher than it looked.
"Wow," she mumbled, though it was premature and she was left speechless at the flutter of glittering insects that flew skyward. It was truly something to see.

Though she had seen the show before, Intombi was also a little awe struck by the display. She wasn't neccesarily a fan of the creepy crawlies, but everything in the savannah had a light in which they were beautiful. Maybe not as stunning as some of the other creatures out there, but there was definately a chance for everything to shine. Even the termites, when they swarmed like this, glittered. With thoughts like that, how could anyone be unhappy? In truth, the juve had never come across a truthfully unpleasant or depressed individual, and there for naively assumed that every lion, especially in the Pridelands, was jolly and easy going. Of course, that wasn't reality, but it was easy to believe if even a termite could be attractive.
For a while, the young lionesss simply gazed around them, almost in a trance like state. Her eyes seemed happy yet slightly glazed over, her mind far off from their location. At least, sort of far off. Really, her mind was on Pride Rock, and how she should be visiting the place sooner rather than later. Now that she knew her friend Zu was royalty, maybe she should pay a visit to the brown cub and ask about where to find the queen. Coming out of her daze somewhat, she turned to look at Janja with an amused grin. "It's really neat here, isn't it? Never would've thought a bug could be so pretty."

Janja was mesmerized by the glittery fly-aways. This was certainly not something you saw everyday when you lived in the Jungle. Even if something like this was there, it wouldn't be so amazing because of the thick surrounding of trees. The trees were the most obvious difference between Janja's home then and now, and it was hard to argue with Intombi's comment.
"It's amazing," she agreed quietly, "Nothing quite like this in the Jungle." The dark lioness glanced over her shoulder, wondering if either of her sisters would be interested in seeing this. Or even if her parents would- maybe mom had seen it, but had dad? She did hope they had some interest in these things.

The last thing on Intombi's mind was if her family would enjoy the show. Much to her surprise, her thoughts drifted to a certain yellow lion she had met not so long ago. She wondered if he had been to the termite mounds and seen them in their glory. Surely he'd have already, since he was raised in the Pridelands. If she ever ran into him again, which she certainly hoped happened sooner rather than later, she'd have to remember to ask. He had seemed to know quite a bit about the Pridelands when they had chatted, so there was was a very good chance he knew all about the bugs and how pretty they looked in the sunlight, but it was worth asking.
It seemed that she had once again slipped off into her own little world, and this time she felt somewhat guilty about it. She really did need to try to keep in one place with her mind when she was with company. "I figure the Jungle has it's own beauty, though." She nodded solemnly. From what Karama had said of it, it was a paradise of sorts. Intombi doubted she'd ever actually go there, but hearing about it from time to time helped her imagine. Of course, her mind had cooked up something a bit unearthly, but it really didn't matter much. "And probably loads more bugs." At that, she giggled almost to the point of sounding younger than she was. She was just a juve, after all, and was at that inbetween point of being cub and being mature.

Janja took the moment she had her eyes turned away from the insects to look over at Intombi. She looked like she was a little distracted, and the older lioness smiled a little at her for it. It was certainly not unwelcome when Intombi commented on the Jungle, for Janja had spent her youth there and had done her very best to find out as much as she could while she was there!
"The Jungle is very beautiful, the flower around my neck is from the jungle," Janja explained, stepping closer to Intombi and holding her head up so the flower necklace she wore was visible. She remembered when she'd found a strange little leopard who was so good at making things out of flowers. "And there are a lot of other bugs, but I've never seen them like this."
She looked over towards the mounds again only to find that the rush had started to settle down as she and Intombi thought and talked more. It was too bad, but certainly had been exciting enough! Not expecting a second attempt to be so rewarding or appreciated, she didn't move to start a second show.
"It's calmed down," she pointed out.

The juve admired Janja's necklace for a few moments, gasping a little in awe. "It's stunning!" She had never seen a flower like that before. The only flowers she had ever seen were quite small and lived amoungst the savannah grasses. For a few moments, she wanted to walk straight to the jungle and hunt down a few flowers to make a necklace of her own. The fantasy faded, however, when she realized that would mean leaving her beloved Pridelands. Though she wasn't really a member yet, she couldn't help but feel like this place was home. Even though she was born a rogue, she had never been one for traveling. Sure, she had wandered quite a bit as a young cub, but she had had nothing better to do. Mom was always and her brother wasn't all that entertaining. Now that she was here, she liked the idea of staying for the rest of forever. It was like a happy ending to some magical tale.
"Well, these bugs are really only nice for one thing. Although one time I saw some weird critter eating them... I can't imagine eating bugs." She stuck her tongue out and shuddered a little at the thought. "It has calmed down quite a bit. I'd whack the mound again, but I think most of them left the first time." She shrgugged a little, staring up at the large dirt mound. It was incredible how something so small could make something so very big. She felt small next to it, though she really was small next to most things. "Do the bugs in the Jungle build things like this?"
