Axel let the youth ramble on, pretending to pay attention. Meanwhile, his mind wandered, pondering just how much mischief they could get into. He'd already swiped a few supplies from the kitchen, Zexion's safety blanket for a beach towel, and what he could only hope was sunscreen from Vexen's chambers. He didn't care for water, but that wasn't going to keep him from having fun.
As the boy started off through the portal, the fire-wielder chose to lag behind, bringing up the end of their little field trip party.

Kaleb remembered going through the portals before, but he still hesitated a second and glanced at Axel before following Demyx. There was no helping it, even if they were going to the same beach as before he probably couldn't recall enough of it to make his own portal there. Besides, the trip through the darkness only felt like it took ages.
The little mage kept going as quickly as he dared, and was relieved to finally step out into warmth and light once he had arrived at the beach.

On the other side, Demyx had already shed his coat to the darkness. Now clad in just his swim shorts, the little sitarist grinned at the other two as they emerged from the portal.
"Kay! Sooooo, whatcha wanna do first?"
Green eyes shifted downards to eye the sand a moment before looking back to his companions.

Axel swiftly followed after the shy little mage, shedding his coat amidst the darkness as Demyx had and stepping onto the sandy beach in a pair of black and orange flame print trunks. The fire-wielder stretched lazily in the warm midmorning sun. "We should pick a spot to put our stuff down."

Kaleb blinked, it seemed as though he was the only one to come out of that portal fully clothed. With a little bit of nervous fidgeting he looked up and down the beach to spot a couple nice places to leave their belongings. The first reminded him too much of their first trip to the beach, so he opted for the second one.
"H-how about over there?" He asked, gesturing towards a sandy patch of ground not far from where they stood. It was half shaded by a nearby tree at that point, but by the time they had done a bit of swimming and wanted to warm up an dry off, it would be in full sun.

Bah, putting their stuff down was the most boring thing to do! Demyx's ears flattened back for a moment before he trudged off to lead the way to where Kaleb had pointed. Maybe if he led they'd hurry along and throw the stuff down so they could go swimming! Yeah!
The sitarist quickly arrived at the designated spot, and fidgeted around as he waited for the other two to catch up.

The elder strode over to said spot a slipped the blanket from his bag. Spreading it over the sand, he went about setting out the "sunscreen" and other such essential items for their use. The task done, Axel righted himself and looked around the beach. Not bad. It wasn't very crowded, so they could likely get away with a little fun without being noticed. The red-head smiled mischieviously and waited for the others to do as the wished.

Kaleb set down his own bag in the sand next to Axel's blanket and pulled out his own sunscreen. It didn't take him long at all to get his face and the back of his neck done, but he realized at some point he would have to take off his shirt and pants. That was the worst part of a swimming trip for the poor little healer. He was too timid and self-conscious to want to strip down to his swim shorts, but after some fidgeting he finally shrugged out of his shirt to apply sunscreen to his shoulders.

Demyx wasn't interested in their blanket for later, nor was he interested in applying sunscreen. While the others prepared, the sitarist turned and stared longingly out at ocean. True, he could probably run out their right now and not get in trouble. He -was- second in command afterall. Axel would just have to stuff it if he got annoyed and Kaleb....well he was Kaleb.
But Demyx wouldn't do that. No matter how much anxious fidgeting it caused he'd wait for his friends to be ready to play with him.

"Don't forget your sunscreen, Dem," Axel called, coming up behind him. Squirting a bit of Vexen's concoction onto one paw, he spread it over the boy's shoulders with a gentle rub. If the youth seemed alright after a few minutes, perhaps he'd try some on himself.

Kaleb was quick to finish applying his own sunscreen, and even managed to get the entirety of his tattooed back using a bit of magic. After more blushing and fidgeting he slipped out of his pants and was careful to get his tails and legs before finally feeling safe enough to go swimming. He really didn't like being so exposed, wearing only his dark blue swim shorts, but at least his large wings hid his tattoo from view.
"I-I hope the water isn't too cold today," he said, offering the other two a nervous smile.

"Axellll, I don't -need- sunscreen...."
The sitarist whined childishly even as the other spread the so called 'sunscreen' on his shoulders. Ears flat, Demyx waited impatiently for Axel to finish so they could finally go swimming.
Unfortunately, trusting anything in Vexen's lab was a rather stupid idea. For the first minute or so, the lotion did indeed seem harmless. But it wasn't too long before Demyx's once tan shoulders turned a rather interesting shade of green, which will now be referred to as 'HOLYSHITgreen'. And, unfortunately for Axel, that same lovely shade was now rubbed all over his paws.
Demyx, not one to usually look at his shoulders, didn't notice the change...yet.

Ha! Another of Vexen's duds no doubt. The red-head grinned mockingly, tossing the little bottle aside. Turning to address their nervous companion, Axel waved him over, failing to notice the lovely shade of green now decorating his paws. "One way to find out..."

Kaleb had been watching the waves, full of edgy paw-wringing and tail twitching, and trying up the nerve to actually go swimming. He turned to glance over when he heard Axel call and his eyes went wide.
"Wh-what happened to you two?" Maybe it was some kind of new sunscreen, but Kaleb had never heard of it coming in such a vibrant shade of green.

"Huh?"
Ears perking back up, Demyx turned to blink at Kaleb.
"What do you mea---"
The sitarist fell silent as his eyes focused on Axel's bright HOLYSHITgreen hands. Despite that, he wasn't putting two and two together to realize that his own fur may have suffered the same fate.
"....Axel....since...when did you have green fur?!"
