My parent's are really freakish, when it comes to any type of body alteration. My mom let me get four piercings done, two in each ear. But I'm gonna start saving, and when I finally move out I plan to get two more going up from the bottom of my ear, and one helix (up at the top) on my left ear. And for my right ear, I want one more going up from the bottom then an industrial. (that is my favorite.) I would love to get a tattoo, but it would really, really have to mean something to me. With piercings it over fast, and the pain isn't terribly long. with tattoos it is. But I would like something, small on the top of both my wrists. I sure it will be some cletic knot. I love those.

For those who do not know what an industrial is here is a picture.

My friend just get her tat two weeks ago, it's about 9 inches long. She have six piercings, 3 in her left earlobe, two in her right, and her tongue done. From what she's told me, it doesn't hurt terribly, or for very long, per se. "like catscratches" she said. This is oddly ironic as the next day, my cat falls off a bookshelf and uses me as his safety net--I recieved four scratches: 1in, 3.5in, 5in, and 9.5in in length. My first thought was "well, this isn't SO bad..." in reference to the tattooing. My parents are pretty nuts about it, especially my dad, but he feels I should be in a nunnery, or something. Mom's opinion is "it's your body, and you're going to do what you want no matter what I say", so I've gotten away with more, at least in that sense.

@ inblood_isoak: I understand about the whole paranoia about it being upside down, but from every where I've read .. to a wiccan the whole upside down pentagram isn't a big deal. Although I think so satanist might use it as their symbol and who knows what kind of conclusions non-pagans might jump to. rolleyes

@Vampyre Rin: Tattoos don't hurt that bad, well at least in certain places. I know on my tattoo, on my right side it felt like a butter knife carving into me and on the left side it was a bit like getting pinched. About getting it on your wrists .. I went wiht a friend to get a tribal scorpian tattooed around her wrist and i don't think it hurt her that bad except when the guy was working around her bones. I think where ever there are bones it hurts alot more. ^.^ but no matter how much pain there is, your brain releases endorphins and you'll always remember the experiance with a grin on your face lol

I have one piercing in each ear, and plan on keeping it that way. Also, I don't plan on getting a tattoo anytime soon. It would be cool, but my parents would kill me. It just wouldn't be worth it at this point in time.

pericings are addictive....
Im a addictive to them... I have six (three each ear) and want to get them done again, but im not alowed sad I would like my nose periced too

Nose piercings are supposed to be the hardest to care for--at least up there, anyway. I was gonna get mine done, but 1) my parents would be furious, 2) I have bad allergies, 3) I have a decent sized freckle right where it would be, anyway xd

I'm getting my 6th (3rd in right ear) this fall, and want to get the cartilage done there, too. Then *crosses fingers* I'm done. hehehe....

....and I also used to take them out to do ritual stuffs, but now I wear ritual-esque jewelry, instead. ^^

omg, the nose percing
1. my mum would be mad.... very
2. i have had past allergic reactions to some metals, espically cheap junk stuff (kinda the say as allergies..??)
3. I have a freckle too!!!!!!!! on my nose in the spot i would get peirced, yet its on the wrong side...... I hate it but jusitn loves it.....

The cartlige is ok. Now, MOST told me to get it done wiht the needle, but I got it done wiht the gun, It didn't jurt much. But u have to look after it... AND keep the earing in for the minimum amount of time it says..... be careful that the cartiledge doesn't split.... so my best advice is to go to a peircer, not a hairdresser

My 6 are..
2 bottom of each ear...
1 top of left (cartliedge)
1, middle of right...
*cough* i'll be quite now

If my dad thought he had even the slightest chance, he'd alreadly have me IN the nunnery. I've really wanted my tongue pierced. I love how it looks. But, my mom about had a heart attack when I mentioned it. And she was driving at the time. Yeah, not the smartest on my part. biggrin Oh well she got over it. But I still want it.

Yeah, I'd go to a piercer...Hairdressers do it? o.O;;

The cartilage splitting thing freaks me out a little...

Wow there are alot of great ideas for this type of stuff. I think I'm going to go to one of my friend's Moms to do my tatoo. I'm not sure yet of what it will be but I'm going to have atleast one part be a pheonix and moon intwined. I'll be drawing the thing myself so I'll feel much more closer to it ^-^. I'm not sure about peircings yet...o.o;; knowing me I'd get caught on something sweatdrop

I've technically got one peircing in each ear...but a few years ago I just got sick of having my ears pierced and stopped wearing earrings, so now I really don't have the holes to wear earrings anymore even if I wanted to. (Which I really don't anymore, they're just not my thing. sweatdrop )

When I get older, I do intend of getting a tatoo or two...I just like 'em a lot. sweatdrop But it would have to be something I am really passionate about and would never want to get rid of...like I've wanted to get wings tatooed on my back...but who knows if I'd want them when I'm in my 50s? Like I want something wolfy...I'm not sure what yet, but I've got years to figure it out. ^^

I know my mom would be fine with it when I'm older because she was thinking about getting one where she has this scar from a motorcycle accident she was in years ago, and her sister has like a hundred...seriously, her and her boyfriend are covered.

I also want something I can see, so that'll be what I get, first. My mother, however, is against it completely, so when I go to get mine, I'm going alone--I don't have a choice. I totally agree with you, though, on choice--I've been poring over books so as to find my "perfect" representation. Mom says that I shouldn't do it b/c it's so permanent, but to me, it really isn't. I mean, the physical body only lasts so long. To me, it's temporary. So, I've been looking hard to find something that will represent me, good and bad, and show the characteristics I feel are important to remember and cherish.

I have the basic ear piercings...three in left, two in right. And I've got a tatoo of an Okanawan triskelle that I got when I got my black belt in Shin Keichu Ryu. It means a lot to me not only because of the practice, but because of how many things come in three (goddess, for example). I hope to, eventually, get a tripple moon on the back of my neck, very small...probably only about an inch wide and half inch tall, in either white or light blue. Something that my hair can hide, since I'm a teacher.

I find tatoos beautiful, though I'm somewhat hypocritical about them. I have one, but a lot of times I disagree with their use. I think they should have deep meaning for the person getting them, and be placed specifically, not "oh, I got drunk one night and got a faery on my butt." I waited for my triskelle for close to eight years, and I'm going to wait a long time before I get my moons, because I don't want, like Starlock said, to not want it after I've gotten it. And the back of the neck and heel don't wrinkle that much, so I'm not too worried about that.

I am planning on getting a tattoo after I turn 18, though. It's going to be a Welsh Red Dragon, in the small of my back.

Oh just remember that if you get a tat on the small of your back you can't get that hardcore pain killer shot when giving birth without messing up the beloved tattoo!

I wasn't planning on getting the pain killer shot anyway. xd That just seems like the perfect place for the tattoo I want, so I'm going to stick with it.

I have two in each ear, and I used to have the cartilage on my left ear, but I had to keep taking it out for dance practice and eventually, I forgot to put it back in and the hole closed up. gonk
I'm not sure if I want a tattoo. With piercings, you can just remove the jewelry and the hole's almost invisible, but with tattoos, they're always visible and the only way to cover them up is with clothing.. or a lot of make up, but no one does that. Lolz. Body ornamentation is addicting though sweatdrop
The way I see it, I kind of even regret my piercings, because the body is beautiful the way it is. But if I do get a tattoo, it will be very small and somewhere easily covered. It won't be something to show off, it will be something just for me, to remind me of something. Perhaps a pentacle, or a symbol of my own.
