Solo blinked at the change of topic. His... wings? Oh yeah. Them. He moved them slightly, then winced. They still hurt a lot.
"Uhm... Yeah... The second one appeared a while ago." He shrugged slightly, careful to not move his wings while he did so. "I don't really care for the second one. I used to be able to get by with sleeping on my right side, but now even that doesn't work. I have to sleep on my stomach to keep them from hurting even more than they already do."
Oh, and don't forget he'd had to get Aylee to tailor all of his clothes to fit the new wing. It was really a pain to have, no pun intended. Perhaps someday he could find a way to get rid of the damn things.

Lucien took in the wince and tilted his head, "They hurt?" He asked curiously stepping closer, looking at them andt then at his friend, a little concerned for Solo.
He listened to what he said, about it showing up then nodded, "Just appeared?" He asked curiously then nodded, "Now that sort of thing I can understand. These just appeared too." He said tracing a finger along one of the two scars that marked his face, "It wasn't until a lot later that I figured out how exactly I got them."

Solo pursed his lips slightly. Okay, they hadn't just appeared, but... Well, he didn't feel comfortable informing anyone about how he'd got them. It was a problem he had to deal with alone.
"How did you get those scars, anyway?" Solo had just assumed they had appeared when Lucien grew. He knew that markings and such tended to appear on the body when Fa'e grew. Why it happened, he had no idea. As of this point, though, Solo was miraculously mark free. And he hoped that it stayed that way.

Lucien tilted his head then smiled, "Well... at first it was weird. I have dreams sometimes, dark ones that don't make much sense or I don't remember much of. I woke up frome one of them bleeding when I was still a toddler." He told Solo then gave a little sigh, "Then... ah... just before I grew it all fell into place."
He looked away from Solo for a long moment going really quiet. Solo was the only one that he talked to openly about most of the secrets that he held about himself so he wondered if he could talk to about this, "Have you ever been stuck with a choice that you feel someone else is trying to make for you?" He asked after a moment of thought on how to word it.

Solo thought about it for a bit, silent the entire time. A choice that someone else is trying to make for him...? Well, Aylee was always trying to decide thing for him... But Solo didn't think that was what Lucien ment.
Finally he said, "I've... never had anyone other than Aylee try to dictate my actions, but I believe I know what you mean." And his own experience with dreams hadn't been like what Lucien had described, but they hadn't been exactly pleasant, either.

He nodded, "What triggered my growth, what I saw... it all was like a bunch of fingers pointing in a direction and telling me what it was that I was supposed to do... and..." He gave a bit of a laugh, "I don't want to. I don't like the idea that I'm supposed to... turn on someone that I consider a friend. To attack them..."
His missing half seemed quite insistant upon that from what he had seen, the scars he bore were from the incident that left his other half missing. Left Lucien feeling be at odds with himself.

After taking a few moments to take everything Lucien had said in, Solo nodded then sat down on a nearby rock. "In a way I can understand that... I suppose you could say that I'm really hard to get along with, and I don't make friends easily. It's more a self inflicted dislike of people, and I really am not a fan of fighting." In his head, he silently added 'Unless it's with that damn parakeet...'. He coughed slightly before continuing, "I'd like it even less if someone or something told me to attack someone I liked... If I were you I'd just try to supress these... Well, whatever was trying to tell you what to do. Just try to ignore it."
He was reminded for a second of that... 'Creator' or whatever he had called himself. From what Solo had gotten about their conversation, that a** was just looking forward to controlling Solo. Not something the kitsune found very appealing.

"Supress and ignore them." Lucien murmured as he walked over to stand near to where Solo had sat down and thought on that. He was sure that he could do that right? If he just avoided that line of thought, that person that he was supposed to go after, and his other self he should be fine right? It was a big world so he was sure that he could...
He made a face, wait the prom. Would he be there? Well they would all be in costume and Solo was planning on mostly sitting off in a corner instead of hanging out so he could just stay with him right? Out of the center of attention and away from the one that he felt fated to fight.
"Yeah. You could be right... I will do my best to ignore it." He sat down on the ground next to Solo's rock and leaned back so that he was against the kitsune's legs and gazed up at him for a long moment before risking to ask, "Even with your supreme dislike of others you deal with me. Is there any reason for that?"

Solo blinked a bit as Lucien leaned against him, and looked down at the scorpion boy, "...what?" He didn't exactly know what to say. Of course, there was the urge to shove Lucien away, but... Well, that was easily surpressed.
Why DID he like the kid, anyway? He'd never really taken the time to think about why he liked any of the people he got along with, few as they were. Perhaps because he couldn't put it into words? Maybe, but it was doubtful. Solo was really good with words.
Finally the kitsune spoke, "I don't know." He shrugged slightly, and then bit back the pain that resulted when he did so. "I just like you, okay?"

He nodded then let his eyes close, "You don't know, you just do?" He grinned, "Ok. I suppose that is as good a answer as any right." He told him then gave a little smile. He hadn't really expected an answer so he was kinda happy with the fact that Solo had given one. Moreso that he hadn't shoved him away or moved his legs to let him fall over, "I am glad that you do. You are one of my best friends." He told him quietly.

Solo twisted his two tails together and wrapped them around his waist. Best friend, huh? Well, that was first. When Solo actually thought about it, he wasn't too surprised, but... Of course, he didn't really have any other friends than Lucien. A long time ago, he'd been friends with a human boy named Eragon, then Yanisin, then Devi... But so far, all his friends had come and gone. And come to think of it, Solo hadn't actually seen anyone other than Lucien and his own family for a long time... Not since he stopped going to HQ every day.
Oh, and there were also all those brats the winged freak kept letting into the house. They didn't count.
But best friends...? Solo wasn't too sure he could even call a person a best friend, considering how long his friendships so far had tended to last, but... Well, out of all the friendships Solo'd had, his friendship with Lucien was probably the best one. "I suppose... You'd probably be my best friend as well..."

Lucien looked up at Solo for a long moment then gave a happy sound, "Am I really?" He asked, his tail started to thump against the ground as it wagged happily. He hadn't ever expected to hear words like that from Solo and now that he was he felt almost... he wasn't sure how to describe it other the the feeling of being sugar high without the sugar, "Wow." He turned around so that he had an easier time looking up at Solo from where he was sitting.
He wasn't sure what else to say at the moment and he couldn't keep from smiling like an idiot. His unease from the the problems of his life seemed to melt away not longer important for the moment.

Solo looked down at Lucien, the scorpion boy apparently extremely happy. Solo didn't see the point. But, whatever made him happy, he supposed. Finally he said, "I don't see why it matters too much. But whatever." He yawned slightly, and thought about what he should go as to the masque. He'd have to get a tuxedo somewhere, and see if he could get someone to make a mask of some kind for him... And try to keep Aylee from knowing what all of it was for. She'd try to force him into some silly costume if she found out.
"What does you costume for the Masque look like, by the way?" He wasn't sure if Lucien had decided yet, but it never hurt to ask.

"It matters to me." He said with a smile then went back to leaning against his legs and thought on it, "Lets see. I get this really fun cape that I get to run around in, I got that earlier and was having far to much fun with it." He said, "There are tall boots and pants, a thing mom called a 'tunic' which I think referred to the shirt, the mask she said would be simple and cover just the area around my eyes mostly."
He clicked his claw a little in thought, "The one I'm going as sounded like a neat character from the way that Momma described him. We are changing the colors of his outfit to more suit me though. Instead of greens and browns it will be darker colors." He looked up at Solo. He was curious as to what the foxen would go as.

"Really? Solo said. The costume sounded... Well, interesting. Solo's would probably be a lot more bland. Well, hopefully it would, anyway. Again, it hinged on his being able to keep Aylee from knowing about the prom.
Yawning slightly, he shifted his position on the rock, "Hey kid, isn't Rayne going to be worried about you? Aylee's always been used to me slipping away from her, but Rayne's probably a different story..."
