"I have seen those with less will than you live though worse." She looked back at the crow for a moment before shaking her head. Old legends were true. She knew of the Crow's powers and if this one was protecting the Stallion then there must have been something special about him.

"When you can stand .... there is a stream not far from here. The water would do you well."

"Moons ago... I wouldn't have had this will." Fortune, Nostalgia, Memory, Trevalyn; his makeshift 'herd', his family. They had all given him a new will to live; a brighter outlook on the life that had been forced upon him.

His body trembled under its own weight as he attempted to move, biting back any pained noises he may have been on the brink of making. "When I make it to the stream..." When, not if. He had no other choice. He had to make it there one way or another. "... I'll find a way to thank you."

Crow hopped off of the stallion, glancing at him for a moment before taking off into the sky. Someone else could watch over Draven now... It would go and find the mare with the glittering horn and the ethereal wings. They had been gone for too long and he couldn't leave the stallion's side before. He could now.

"I don't need thanks." She shook her head before she turned. Once he was standing, albeit it barely, she took a step into the air and let her body return to the size needed for her wings to carry her. It meant now she was no bigger than the Crow that had been with him previously but she could move faster this way.

"This way ..." She flitted in the direction of the stream and hung in the air a bit away from him so he could follow her.

The mare may have been able to move faster, yes... But he? He felt like a foal trying to figure out how to use his legs again. Each step, just as each initial breath, sent a wave of agony through him. His legs wobbled, nearly giving until he took a deep breath, buckling down any strength he had.

The stream, as the mare had said, wasn't far from where he'd been. He stumbled once he reached the banks, collapsing back to his knees. He lowered his head wearily, dipping his muzzle into the cool water. The water felt like heaven going down his throat, the coolness extending to every part of his body.

She had fluttered around him as he'd walked. Knowing she wasn't, even when larger, the right size to be of any help but not wanting to leave him alone in case he did fall over.

Once they were at the stream she stepped back on the dirt and leaned down to get herself a drink. She could tell the water did wonders for the Stallion and was glad that had been what he'd needed. "You know ... it's almost like this steam was placed here by the Ancestors just for this reason." Why else would a stream run so pure in a place like this?

"The Spirits work strangely." He nodde in a slow agreement as he closed his eyes, resting his head on the cool grass once more. "They've... Spared my life twice now." The first time he'd assumed that his life had been spared so that he could avenge the deaths of those he loved; both his made and their herd. He still hadn't done that... Was that why he was being spared again?

No, that couldn't be. He had accepted that, wherever she was, she wouldn't approve of his vendetta. She would have wanted him to be happy with his life, and he was. Why had his life been spared this time?

"No ... they work simply. Everyone's just too busy trying to put fanciful things into it to notice what they've done." She nodded and smiled slightly. Everything the Spirits did was simple if you looked at it from the right angle.

"I would hope that your feathered friend went to find your family? I'm sure they'll be worried about you." If he'd been in that state he must have been out here for at least a few days. If he had a family they'd want to know where he was after all this time.

"Few look upon it in such a way, Kochu'Akai." He murmured softly as he took a deep breath, releasing it slowly as he closed his eyes. It was cooler here by the stream; a relief after being so close to the plains that were heated by the sun.

"Nostalgia... Crow most likely went to find Nostalgia." He didn't want his friend to see him like this. She would worry... Nostalgia had worried about far too many things since they'd first met and he didn't want himself to be added on to that list of things. "Crow must have expected you to stay until he returns... You don't have to."

"All the more reason to believe it myself." Life wasn't complicated as long as you let things go. She'd learned that a long time ago. You had to let everything go eventually no matter how much it hurt. Shaking her head slightly to rid herself of the thoughts she looked up at him again.

"Nostalgia will help you then. I'm sure they will be able to take care of you." She should stay until his family got here. This close to where he'd been left could still be dangerous should his tormentor come back. "I will stay until i see your feathered friend return."

Some things were harder to let go than others. Slowly but surely he had been finding that out. He had been able to let some things sit behind him. Others? Others he didn't know if he would ever be able to put completely in the past. They were a part of him; a part of the life that had shaped him into the stallion now lying by the stream.

"You've already done enough, Kochu'Akai." He murmured softly as he felt himself drifting back towards sleep. Resortative sleep to help him, not the sleep of one who lingered between worlds.

The chill in the afternoon air worried Nostalgia, another thing to be anxious about, massed atop of an already large mountain of fears and worry. Having the air grow colder only meant the sun was soon to disappear across the horizon, and the lead member of her family's little herd had yet to make an appearance.

Memory had barely spoken since the run in the two of them had with the fierce looking mutant. The mare knew her daughter was upset, but it scared her that she refused to talk about it, refused to speak her feelings. They had found Trevelyn wandering among the trees when they had returned to the path, but Draven was nowhere to be seen. Nostalgia had assumed he had spent the time searching for herself and her children, but after hours of searching and no sign of the dark stallion, her anxious feelings turned into frantic worries. Perhaps the mutant had found Draven after he left them?

Leaving her children in the care of a former acquaintance, Daray, Nostalgia set out in a larger search for the stallion who had dedicated his time and effort into protecting her family. She owed so much to him already, and she couldn't call herself a friend at all if she didn't put more effort into searching for him. He had never let her down in the past, and she was determined to not let him down now.

She snorted softly as she took to the air again. Making herself no bigger than a small bird she flitted about him as he rested. She knew that leaving him alone would be horrible so she had to stay until at least the Crow came back.

If Draven had been right then the Crow would bring help and help meant that he would be safe. Resting on his shoulder, confident he wouldn't feel her, she waited out whatever time it would take.

It would be easy enough to hide when she saw the avian companion breach the horizon.

Crow swooped down through the trees, cawing as it caught sight of the ghostly mare. It landed just far enough in front of her that she wouldn't step on it if she failed to notice where the bird had landed. It cawed once more, flapping its wings to catch her attention before taking off once more, meaning to guide her through the woods towards its companion.

He slept peacefully for the first time since his attack, not noticing the small mare perched on his shoulder even if, somewhere in his subconciousness, he was greatful for her presence.

Nostalgia stepped back, startled at the arrival of the black bird.

"Crow...?" She questioned, confused as to why the bird was by its lonesome. Typically, it never left Draven's side, so seeing the feathered companion alone only heightened her worry.

"Crow, where's Draven? Do you know where he is?"

Anxious lavender eyes searched across the environment surrounding them. Perhaps since Crow was near, the stallion was as well? "If you know where he is, please take me to him!"

As she heard the caw of the bird and a voice she fluttered carefully off Draven. Finding a small patch of moss she hid herself so that neither would notice her. Once she was certain it had been another soquili that she heard she flew close to the ground and away from them.

That must have been the Nostalgia that he had spoken of and she would take care of him. She wasn't needed around any longer.
