Dear Diary:
I’m not much of a writer, and it’s hard trying to tell what I feel to a piece of paper. . . But somehow I think things will be better if I record my feelings. So how do I begin? Oh, yeah. . . .
I’m pregnant.
Yes, pregnant. Knocked up. With child.
Without my permission. Without knowing even. Yes, I know that must sound funny. How can you get pregnant without knowing it? Don't you usually have to be. . . er. . . involved for that to happen?
Ha. Never underestimate the powers of a stubborn Djinn male.
Needless to say, I’m not all that happy. Yes, I loved Trent. With all my heart I loved him. But that still gives him no excuse to impregnate me without my permission. Anyway, if there’s one thing I learned in Djinn 101 it’s that they are eternal, powerful, and sterile. Djinn. Do. Not. Reproduce.
But apparently they can. . . imagine if the Wardens found out about this. They’re be breeding Djinn like bunnies . . . if that’s possible. Needless to say, I won’t be telling the Wardens about my pregnancy.
My thoughts are so random and incoherent at the moment. . . It’s bad enough to have to go through a whole race change, but a pregnancy on top of that is making my body work overtime. . . I’m tired now. So I’ll stop writing.

[Big Girls Don't Cry] - - Private RP with Alexis (Haruko-chan)Eden was breathless and she hurried down the crowded streets Barton Town to the tiny dinner. How in the world had she forgotten her lunch date with Alexis? It was a weekly tradition she’d managed to keep almost every week for the past three years, come hell or high water.
As she entered the crowded dinner, the scent of frying ham and potatoes assaulted her senses. Her stomach churned as she lunged toward the back of the building and the bathrooms. . . Dammed morning sickness. Alexis strode casually down the streets of Barton Town, amusing herself but alighting small fires on bushes, flowers, and the occasional skirt or T-shirt of some hapless, overly-preppy bystander that might have happened to slight her in some way. Being a Fire Warden had some advantages, the punky goth thought with a grin. It suited the rest of her style. This week, her hair, naturally a deep auburn color, was striped in black highlights, resembling tiger fur that hung down just past her shoulders. She changed her hair almost as often as she changed her clothes. Alexis went "casual" for her weekly lunch date with her best friend- which meant a dark black shirt with a picture of Captain Jack Sparrow (in honor of her favorite pirate), long red fishnet gloves that went up to her elbow, a red-and-black plaid skirt that barely saved her dignity, and knee-length stiletto boots. And, of course, no self-respecting goth can leave the house without a generous helping of eyeliner and mascara.
"A diner..." she thought aloud she a shake of her head. A vegetarian's nightmare, Alexis mused to herself. But that didn't particularly matter- she'd only been a vegetarian for two and a half days now. She was already considering forgetting about it; vegetarianism was such an Earth Warden thing.
Alexis poked her head through the door, trying to catch a glimpse of Eden and be able to meander all goth-like to her without the embarrassment of wandering around like an idiot. But she was nowhere to be seen. Alexis was usually late for things, as a habit- but not Eden. With a shrug, and a thought considering she might have gotten the wrong diner, she seated herself in the back, in a corner, so as to more effectively glare at any overly perky waitress that might think of taking her order.Washing up in the bathroom, Eden took a moment to take inventory of herself. Her long hair was neatly brushed and pulled back with an ivory ribbon. Her blouse, which had just barely survived her near miss into the toilet, was clean and wrinkle-free. She didn't look stressed. She didn't look fat. And most importantly of all she didn't look pregnant.
She looked like her normal self.
Hopefully, that would be enough to fool Alexis; who had a weird way of telling when something was wrong. She sighed, tugged the edge of her blouse once more in a nervous twitch and exited the restrooms to find her friend. Alexis had been amusing herself by juggling small flames on her fingertips (making sure no one was looking, of course), while every now and then scanning the tiny, cramped diner for her absent friend. Finally, after one glance, she saw Eden emerge from the back in what she assumed must have been an oh-so-sanitary bathroom. Upon seeing Eden, one of her closest (and understandably few) friends, all her gothic, antisocial pretenses were shattered by her real personality.
"Eeeeedeeeennn!!!" she squealed, running up and embracing her friend (which, with the kind of boots she was wearing, took considerable skill to not fall over). "I was wondering when you'd show. These pink-skirted little Barbie dolls were grating on my nerves," she said with a very un-goth giggle, not even bothering to lower her voice, much to the irritation of the many waitresses flitting around. Taking Eden by the arm, she lead her to her claimed table, now not bothering to ward off the "pink-skirted Barbies" with her evil glare as she focused on her friend. "So, whatcha been up to, E?"Noticing the waitresses’ glares as Alexis drug her back to the table, Eden stifled a giggle. God, people used to call her hyper . . . but Alexis could match her for energy any day of the week.
“I’m fine!” She told her friend more brightly than she felt, as they took their seats on the less-than-comfortable vinyl chairs. “Enjoying ‘retirement’,” Inserting little finger quotation marks on the word. “and trying to find ways to keep myself out of trouble.” She made her attempt to sound neutral and upbeat, but found it was more difficult than she realized. Alexis raised an eyebrow, noticing a tiny strain in her friend's cheery demeanor. She was good about picking up stuff like that. But, for the moment, she let it slide. She lit a finger on fire and casually rolled the flame around on her palm, careful about the fishnets covering her arm. It was almost a requirement for Fire Wardens to be severe pyromaniacs. "That all? Why, I expected mass chaos, cities burning in your wake, people cowering at the sound of your name! So what if the Wardens are so iffy about 'retirees' not using their powers? I'd go crazy if I couldn't." She accentuated this point by letting the fire in her palm grow, snuffing it out just as a waitress with a painfully forced smile and a demeanor that said she lost a bet to wait on the pair pranced over. "So, what can I get ya'll?" She said a little too sweetly for Alexis' likely.
A Southern accent... she thought ruefully. How much more stereotypical do you get? "Nothing for me. It seems this place only has fried, well, everything, and it looks like no vegetable is left untouched. No thanks." She smiled sweetly in an attempt to take the sting out of her words, but she was sure it came out looking condescending. In fact, the main reason she didn't order anything was she couldn’t be sure the cooks wouldn't spit in or otherwise defile her meal. "You, E?""Uh-um. . .Water, and a salad." She said; naming off the only thing the dinner was likely to have that wasn't deep fried. She was trying to avoid massive amounts of fat, and her insides went funny when she drank caffeine these days.
After misses perky disappeared, no doubt to tell the cook to burn the salad somehow, Eden turned back to her friend.
“Quitting is hard. . . especially if you’re at the level of you and I. . . and I get so frustrated when I want to use my powers and remember I can’t.” She looked annoyed for a brief moment, then grimaced. “Then again I don’t want to get neutered, and I’m amazed they let me out without doing it anyway.”"Yeah... true. But with your kind of powers, neutering is pretty much equal to death, don't you think? Besides, with you being part Djinn and all, could they really take away all your fire powers?" She inspecting her black-painted fingernails with tiny intricate patterns of skulls painted on top in red. "Anyway! Off the nasty topic of the Wardens, eh? Any new conquests to share?" Alexis asked, her cat-eye contacts gleaming with interest and leaving no question to what she meant by "conquest". "You can't say there's no new men in your life, E! I mean, other than that Trent guy... whatever happened to him? You used to talk about him all the time, and now, poof! C'mon, my Warden life is a literal hell of firebombs and paperwork. I need some new gossip! You wouldn't believe how straight-laced the busybodies I work with are. Haha, some even still openly flinch when they see how I dress. It's all rather amusing." She added with grin."Alexis, I sometimes flinch when I see how you dress. . . Need I remind you of last Halloween?” Eden mocked, attempting to direct the conversation away from the dreaded topics of Trent, the Wardens, and djinn in general. "Ohh, come on, you can't deny it was funny! Pirate wenches were totally in that year!" Realizing she sounded a lot peppier than she intended, she added, "Just because those two ladies who run the district office fainted upon seeing me doesn't mean it was a bad costume. And hey, stop trying to distract me!" She added, realizing her friend was dodging the question. "My attention span may be as short as a hamster's, but I know a question avoidance when I see one! Or hear one, for that matter." She raised an eyebrow. "What, did you really find some hot guy and just don't wanna tell me about it! C'mon, spill! It can't be that embarrassing!" Alexis prodded with a grin, oblivious to her friend's discomfort.“Ohhhh yes.” Eden said, discomfort now turning to annoince. “I’ve lost the only job I’ve ever been trained in life to do outside of flipping burgers. Switched races to an all-powerful mystical creature. Managed to get the only man I’ve ever loved killed before I knew it. And yet, somehow, have found the time to hook up with some hot young thing.” Her voice was laced with a deep, bitter sarcasm, as here eyes flashed with pent-up anger.Alexis suddenly busied herself studying the patterns on the rickety plastic table. She didn't realize what had been going on with her friend... just last week, everything seemed fine and dandy... how could she know her friend was going through all this? "Oh Eden... I'm sorry. I... didn't realize..." She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself under Eden's heated glare. "Hey... you wanna talk about it? I mean, I understand if you don't, but... well..." Realizing she was babbling, she gave up with a shake of her head.Eden sighed, it was no use. Alexis was one of the few friends she had left in the world, not now she had snapped at her and been a royal b***h; she felt like crap.
“I’m sorry Al. . .” She said, staring at her hands. “I’m a mess right now. I can’t control this whole half-djinn thing, and it doesn’t exactly come with a manual, on top of that I’m alone, afraid, and bitchy. And on top of that. . .” She took a deep breath. “I’m pregnant. Trent managed to knock me up, somehow, before he died.”Alexis' eyes grew wide. "Oh, E..." she leaned across the table and hugged Eden the best she could. "I don't know what to say, dear..." She sat back in her seat, noticing the waitress was back with Eden's salad and water, and giving Alexis an odd look, which she returned with a scowl that didn't disappear until the woman put down the order and hurried away. Her look returned to sympathetic. "You know I'm here for you, if there's anything I could do to help. I mean, are you happy about this? Or is it too stressful, or what?" She asked cautiously, trying to gauge her friend's reaction to her pregnancy so she could know what kind of mood she should respond with in kind."I'm. . . Scared as hell." Eden responded, not even noticing the interaction between Alexis and the waitress. “And worried. . . I mean, I can’t be a mother. I know nothing about kids. And my parents were very not there growing up because of my powers. I was too weird for their world; what if I screw up the way they did?” She sighed deeply and frowned into her plate of limp lettuce and scanty dressing.
“I shouldn’t be putting this on you. . . Mystical pregnancies of half-god people so fall outside the realm of best friend burdens.”"Nu-uh, that's where your wrong. I'd say in cases liek this, a best friend is exactly what you need. Look, you won't be like your parents. They had no idea they were gonna have a kid with weird powers, and it was their own damn mistake for being afraid of you for it. You're savy on the weirdness of all this, at least more so than your average run-of-the-mill human, and you'll do an amazing job raising your kid. I'll be there to make sure of it," she added with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood if at all possible. Holding back her tears, Eden stood and walked around the table to embrace her best friend.
“Okay. . . maybe, with you backing me I won’t make a huge mess of this.” She smiled mildly. “But for the little messes you’ll be there to help clean them up!She grinned back, returning the huge ferverently. "Of course. You know, gal. I'll be here for you and the little poo-flinger... even if it is a magical poo-flinger." Alexis added with a snicker.

Dear Diary:
Yeah, still having trouble with this whole piece of paper thing, but I’m getting better.
Yesterday I was thinking I needed to start looking for a doctor . . . you know one of ‘those’ doctors who helps women through pregnancies. So I started looking. I tried the Gaia phone directory first, and came up with a few promising sounding places, but my phone interviews with the staff seemed all wrong.
I don’t know why, but I managed to find fault in almost all of them, and the rest I just had a gut feeling about. I mean these people are supposed to be helping me though the most trying time in my adult life, I want to be able to trust them.
So I turned to the next best resource I had, the interweb.
After searching for area clinics for a good half an hour, I think I may have found the place. It’s called (appropriately enough) The Gaian Maternity & Fertility Clinic. Apparently, they cater to parents with special needs/circumstances as well as perfectly normal families. Even better, they’re also pediatricians who stick with you and your child from conception to adulthood!
It’s funny, but while I was reading up on the place a little voice was whispering in my head going, “This one. . . this one!” So I booked an appointment online, and received a confirmation all from the clinic’s receptionist.
I go in for my appointment to meet with the doctor latter today; I’m nervous but excited too. I think it’s finally staring to sink in that I’m going to have a baby. . .

[A Magician Never Reveals His Tricks] - - Meeting Keith in the ClinicKeithDevlin He was sitting on the floor by one of the low tables in the waiting room with a deck of cards. This was one of the few places he knew he could come for, suprisingly enough, quiet. Had he thought to grab any money before leaving his mothers' home he probably would've gone for coffee... But this would have to do. He shuffled the cards carefully, spreading them out only to flip them all over before collecting them once more. Simple slight of hand; nothing special. The real 'tricks' had nothing to do with the shuffling. That was just a distraction, of course. Then again... Who was he trying to distract? Himself? Quite possibly. There were too many things on his mind; none of which he wanted to think about. He'd settle for cards until it was time to head home. Elda-Chan Eden shuffled quietly into the clinic waiting room, doing her best to go unnoticed. She felt silly and awkward, almost like she didn’t belong here at all. That, coupled with a feeling of sick dread over having to see a much feared doctor, was enough to shatter her already fragile nerves. It was a pretty room, quiet, calm, inviting. Empty save a handsome redheaded youth who sat on the floor playing with a deck of cards. Was playing the right term? It looked more like he was doing some sort of trick; like the kind a magician might do, only way cooler. Unsure of what to do with herself, she quickly took a seat in a chair not far from the young man. KeithDevlin He peered up from his cards, a slight smile curving the corners of his mouth as he caught sight of the young woman. "I'll hope you'll forgive me for saying so, Miss, but you look like you're expectin' someone t'bite you. I assure you, no one here at the moment bites... Unless you do, in which case, I ask that you warn me now so I can put away my cards and prepair to run." Elda-Chan Eden jumped slightly in her seat at the sound of the young man’s voice, and gave a weak smile to cover her embarrassment. “Don’t worry too much; I’ve had all my shots.” She joked, a weak attempt at humor. He liked the boy right off the bat, and he seemed friendly enough. KeithDevlin "Yes, but I haven't." He laughed as he scooped up his cards, shuffling them in his hands for a moment. "Afraid of needles, you know. Big nasty things. Make me cringe." His smile was warm and friendly as he spoke, trying to get the woman to relax. "Do you like card tricks?" Elda-Chan “I love them!” She exclaimed, genuinely smiling back at him. He had a nice smile, warm, calming; it made his whole face light up. It was the kind of smile Eden could trust, and like. “It’s amazing what people can do with a deck of cards!” KeithDevlin "Wonderful." He spun around on the floor, turning to face the woman as he held out the deck of cards. "Take a look at them. Let me know if you find anything about them that's out of the ordinary. Anything at all." She shouldn't, of course. They were nothing more than a plain deck of playing cards that he'd picked up at one of the small stores in the area. A regular store... Not even a magic shop. Elda-Chan Eden fanned the cards out in her hands, looking them over carefully. They seemed to be a completely ordinary deck of playing cards. There was nothing special or unusual about them, just like hundreds of other decks she’d seen in her lifetime. “They look very normal to me.” She told him, handing the cards back. KeithDevlin "Perfecct answer." He nodded with a smile as he took the cards back, giving them a light shuffle before spreading them out in his hands. "And now, the line you've been waitng oh-so-patiently for: Pick a card, any card." He grinned, closing his eyes tightly. "Once you've done so, memorize it and shove it back into the deck. My eyes are closed so I won't even know where you've pulled the card from or where you'll be placing it once you put it back." Elda-Chan She looked carefully at the cards before tugging one gently out of his hands. Studying the card carefully she smiled. The Jack of Hearts, interesting. She slipped the card back into his had in a random spot, then sat back in her chair. “Okay.” She told him. “Good to go.” KeithDevlin He gave the cards a good shuffle before setting them on the table behind him. His eyes opened as he continued to smile. He reached out, snapping his fingers in front of her only to have a card appear in his hand; the jack of hearts. "Is this your card?" Elda-Chan Eden’s eyes widened in amazement, and she looked momentarily stunned. She was sure he’d shuffled the cards really well and put the whole deck on the table, but somehow he’d not only gotten the right card, but made it appear out of seemingly thin air. “Yes that is. . . How, how did you do that?” KeithDevlin "A magician never reveals his tricks." He winked as, with the flick of his wrist, the card disappeared. "Feeling a bit better about being in this big, scary place now?" Elda-Chan “Well, it’s still big. . .” She looked around the room that seemed somewhat even more comfortable than before. “But not so scary now, even if there are doctors involved.” She joked. “And thank you so much. You’re trick was absolutly wonderful!” KeithDevlin He stood slowly, gathering his cards into his hands before stuffing them into the back pocket of his pants. "You are most welcome. Don't worry. I'm sure you'll do just fine here." He nodded. "The doctors must be nice... Afterall, so many people keep coming here. My parents did." Elda-Chan Eden stood with him, sorry to see him prepare to leave. She was surprised to find out his parents were patients at the clinic, though she realized it shouldn’t be all that surprising seeing as he had been just sort of lounging when she arrived. “Thank you for the well whishes. . .” She told him, smiling brightly. “And I hope to see you again, sometime?” KeithDevlin "You might, Miss. You might." He chuckled as he turned towards the door, whistling softly to himself as he stepped out into the sun. Now that he'd gotten in a bit of practice he could go try the trick on his younger brother again to see if he'd actually fall for it. Elda-Chan Moments after the boy left a though struck Eden. . . She'd forgotten to ask his name. Oh well, there was always another day for that.

Dear Diary:
I made a friend when I went to visit the clinic recently . . . but I don’t know his name! I totally forgot to ask him. But he showed me a really cool card trick and helped calm my nerves, he was a very nice young man.
I got my paper work all done up, and registered as a patient, but I didn’t get to meet my doctor. Apparently, he’s out of town for some reason. I hope I get to meet him very soon! All the staff members I did meet were very nice to me and answered all my questions and generally made me feel welcomed and comfortable.
I think I’ll like this place very much. . .
On another note, I think my maternal side is staring to peek through. On the way home from the clinic I passed a cute little toy store that had an adorable display of little wind-up penguin stuff animals when it dawned on me. I haven’t started getting anything ready for this baby at all!
I mean, I know it’s a little early to start picking out cradle sheets and buying diapers, but I can do some little things to get ready. So, more on a whim than out of any sort of conviction I went into the store and bought one of the little penguins. The lady behind the counter kind of looked at me funny after I told her it wasn’t a gift and there was no need to wrap it, but all is well.
So it’s now sitting on my bed as a reminder of things I need to do. I’m going to have to look into getting one of the spare bedrooms all cleaned up. I never realized how much empty space I had in this house until I needed it.

[Harry Potter and. . . Baby Talk!?!] - - Meeting the Katsuma FamilyKaioto_Katsuma On a hot, steamy day in Gaia, many people lived for the cool burst of air from passed-by automatic doors, or the shade of a tree, or the small splashes of water off of a fountain. Solaris, however, found it much more convienent to simply stand a little bit behind his sister. Her wings were thrumming with excitement, producing little eddies of wind behind her. It had been foever and a half since she and her brother had been brought to Gaia, and as if that wasn't occasion enough, they were here for a reason. "Ican'tbelieveit'scomingoutinonly10dayscanyoubelieveitisn'titgreat?" The long stream of words issuing from her mouth had been nearly constant for the past half hour, and Solaris had quite learned to ignore it by now. There were few things that could exicte his usually-quiet sibling to such a furhor, so it had surprised him a bit when it had started, but by now the words seemed to stream through his ears past his brain without ever sinking in. A defense mechanism that would probably get him into trouble with the ladies later on in life, though that never once occoured to him now. Kaioto, walking slightly behind the two children, merely smiled. This heat wave seemed to span several worlds, and no one, including those of her Empire, seemed to want to do any work. This left her with a small bit of free time, enough to bring the two little angels to Gaia. She was quite thankful for the mini-vacation. She had been quite missing Gaia, and was also quite happy to give everyones' ears a rest. Since the release of the ciover art some months before, hardly a word had come from Kiana's mouth that didn't have to do with Harry Potter. The book would be imported to their empire, but some weeks late, and Kiana absolutely had to have it on the earliest possible release date - July 21st. Perhaps bringing her to a Gaian bookstore to reserve a copy would stem the tide for a while, at least until they came back at midnight a week and a half from now. (Anytime later than midnight would absolutely not do, at Kiana's insistence.) Elda-Chan The sun beat down on Eden as she waddled her way along the busy streets of Barton town. Why had she decided to go out in this infernal heat? Why couldn’t she have just stayed in the air-conditioned cool of home, like a normal, sane person would do? Why was going to the bookstore today to blamed important? A large sign with purple lettering and gold stars caught her attention from the store window. . . HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS ON SALE JUNE 21ST RESERVE YOUR COPY NOW Oh, yeah; that’s way. She struggled with the heavy glass door, trying to pull it open. She hated being pregnant; everything seemed harder when her tummy poked out so far she couldn’t see her feet. Kaioto_Katsuma Superman couldn't have spotted the sign from further away than Kiana did. "THEREITISDOYOUSEEIT?!?!" she exlaimed and bounded towards the bookstore, leaving Solaris sadly devoid of the welcome breeze he'd been enjoying off of his sister for the past few minutes. What Eden lacked in strength, Kiana more than made up for in boundless energy. She'd reached the door before either Kaioto or Solaris could register, and excitedly wrenched open the other half of the door. Of course, no amount of wizardly excitement could quite beat out her years of royal tutelage, and she stood in front of the door she held to keep it open for the pregnant woman. "Hereyougoma'amareyoureservingthe7thbooktoo??" she babbled excitedly, her eyes practically sparkling with delight. Elda-Chan Eden blinked, the little girl spoke chipmunk fast, but she’d caught the gist of what was being said. “Yeah! I’m here to order my copy to the 7th book too!” She said smiling, as she entered the blessed cool of the book store. “You’re not here by yourself are you?” She asked, not seeing a parent in the immediate area. Kaioto_Katsuma Kiana shook her head hard enough to make her hair whip around her face. "Nope, I'm not by myself, my brother and mum are just SLOOOWWW." she replied, adding a tinge of a whine to her last word as she shot a glance in the direction of the aproaching figures. "I can't wait, it's going to be SO awesome! And Snape is totally innocent, whatever people say." she continues with a tone of finality that says Eden would have to be insane to think otherwise. "I'm Kiana, by the way." she adds as an afterthought, manners continue to poke their way into her HP-drenched mentality. Elda-Chan Eden had to bite her lip to keep from laughing. She liked the child immensely, and was very glad to know she wasn’t wondering around alone. “I’m Eden!” She said brightly, smiling down at the hyper figure. “It’s really good to meet you Kiana, and I think Snape is innocent too, so you won’t get an argument out of me!” She smiled and glanced at the people Kiana had pointed too, coming near. “Maybe we should just wait here for your family to catch up!” Kaioto_Katsuma Kiana inhales deeply, enjoying that wonderful new book smell (Who couldn't possibly enjoy that smell??) and quickly makes her way to the can't-possibly-miss-it Harry Potter cardboard cutout that marks the registration box. This moment is epic, oh yes, epic indeed. Pen poised on the reservation slip, she bites her lip and contemplates the question Harry Potter fans the world over have considered in the past few weeks - Deluxe copy, regular hardcover edition, or both? Kaioto nods her head to the woman. "You're welcome. I hope my daughter didn't talk your ear off. She's more than a little excited." Solaris snerks at this, having been one of Kiana's main targets lately (Hard to avoid your sister, no matter how big a house you live in.), and tugs a bit on his mom's skirt. "Can I go check out the comics?" he asks, eager to see if the graphic novel rendition of Pirates of the Carribean III was out yet. Kaioto nods, smiling, and scoots him off. Elda-Chan “Oh not at all.” Eden replied, smiling. “She’s adorable.” She stumbled through a moment of not knowing what to say, before her manners kicked back in. “I’m sorry, I didn’t introduce myself. I’m Eden Nnijd.” She wondered for a moment if she should offer to shake hands, but decided not to, she didn’t want to sound too formal. Kaioto_Katsuma "I quite agree." says Kaioto, grinning. She's very proud of her daughter and doesn't mind a compliment now and then. "And it's a pleasure to meet you, Eden. I'm Empress Kaioto Katsuma. The little man who was here a moment ago is my son, Solaris." she adds, quickly glancing towards the comic section, just to keep a motherly eye on him. Elda-Chan An empress. . . maybe she should have been more formal after all. But this lady wasn’t at all how Eden would have pictured an empress, she was much more motherly and smile-y than that. Not to mention kind, she’d been very nice to hold the door. . . Eden wasn’t sure; maybe her idea of empresses was wrong. “You have two very beautiful children, Empress Katsuma.” She said, smiling. “Are they twins?” They looked about the same age to her, but sometimes she wasn’t the best at telling things that. Kaioto_Katsuma "Thank you!" Kaioto replies, now quite beaming from the compliments to her children. "Yes, they are twins. Fraternal, of course." she adds. Twins, on her first and only pregnancy. She wouldn't trade her children for anything in the world, but twins the first time around wouldn't have been her first choice. Still, she gives an encouraging smile to the very-obviously-pregnant girl, unsure of how to proeed. Her pregnancy may have been quite welcomed (Unexpected, but welcomed), but not everyone can say the same of their own, and the girl is alone... best bet is to say nothing until she can gather more hints. Diplomacy before rushing into anything she might regret saying. Meanwhile, Kiana, having come to a final decision, ticks off both a regular hardcover edition and a deluxe limited edition copy of the 7th book. This way she can read the regular one and save the deluxe edition for showing off and gawking at. Maybe she'll even meet J.K. Rowling one day if she ever went tour and get her to sign it! Yes, yes, that will do quite nicely. She carefully prints her name at the bottom of the slip, folds it up, and slips it through the slit in the box where it falls on top of a gerat many other reservation slips. Either the bookstore hadn't emptied the box in a while, or it will be very crowded come midnight July 21st. Looking up to where her mother and Eden are standing, she calls "Hey! Are you gonna reserve your copy?" Elda-Chan Reflexively, Eden put her hand to her belly, and the bulge that was to soon be her own child. But Kiana’s call interrupted her though process and she looking in the child’s direction. “I’ll be there in just a moment.” She called back, and then smiled at Kaioto. “She’s certainly excited about this book, isn’t she?” Kaioto_Katsuma "This is just the tip of the iceberg." replies Kaioto with a hint of a chuckle. "My little Kiana is quite the bookworm, she's been looking forward to this book since it was announced there would be seven in the series. I'm sure she'd like nothing for her birthday more than July 21st to be here today." Elda-Chan “She has a birthday coming up?” Eden asked with a spark of curiosity. “How old will she and her brother be?” She’d been thinking a lot about birthdays lately, especially because her baby would be having one within the next month. Kaioto_Katsuma "Tomorrow, actually." Kaioto replies "And if you ask me, they'll be too old. You don't realize how quickly kids grow up until you've got children of your own." Elda-Chan “I guess I’ll know soon enough.” Eden laughed, as she patted her tummy. “This little monster’s due in less than a month.” She grinned at the though. This baby may have been completely unexpected, but she wanted it all the same. “I’m so ready for it to be here!” She exclaimed. Kaioto_Katsuma Glad to finally know where they stand, Kaioto replies "Oh, an August birthday, that will be wonderful! Do you know the little one's gender yet?" Elda-Chan “No, I decided I wanted it to be a surprise.” Eden smiled. “Everything else about this pregnancy has been, so why not the gender too I decided.” Kaioto_Katsuma "Ha, I know what you mean about surprises. I don't think anyone was expecting those two to come along when they did, but I certainly can't say they were unwelcome. I definately applaud you for deciding to keep the gender a surprise - I absolutely couldn't wait to find out!" she replies, remembering all the excitement when she found out she'd gotten pregnant. "Have you thought about a name yet?" Kiana, realizing the adults weren't coming by any time soon, decides against reserving a copy of Deathly Hallows for "Eden the Pregnant Lady" and makes her way around the display, oogling starry-eyed at all the Harry Potter-related merchandise the bookstore had put by the reservation box. A dragon plush, a book debating the innocence of Snape ( Ha, what a waste of time!), a book on the science of the Harry Potter World, and... oh, cool! A Wizard Chess set! She'd have to show her mom that when she wasn't so busy talking about adult stuff or whatever it was they were chatting about. Elda-Chan “Honestly, I haven’t though about it all that much. I know of a few I like for both genders, but I probably won’t be able to decide until the baby’s here and I meet him/her. I mean. . . personality goes into a name, and. . . stuff” Eden finished lamely, not knowing how to go on, and feeling like she was babling slighly. Kaioto_Katsuma Regardless of how Eden feels, Kaioto knows exactly where she's coming from. "I know exactly what you mean. I didn't pick our Solaris and Kiana's names until after they were born, either." Elda-Chan Eden smiled in relief; it was nice to know someone understood the importance of meeting a child before naming them. She took a moment to register her surroundings at the store and noticed Kiana examining all the cool Harry Potter stuff, while so obviously waiting for her mother. “I’d better not keep you.” Eden said, gesturing to the child who appeared eager to point out all the potential birthday presents at the display. “But it was a pleasure meeting you, and your gorgeous children. I hope we can meet again!” She said brightly. She had liked the Katsuma family immensely. Kaioto_Katsuma "It was a pleasure meeting you too, Eden. Perhaps we'll run into each other on the 21st, though from the look of that box, the store is going to be wall-to-wall full." Flashing her a smile, she then makes her way towards the even-more-excited-than-before Kiana, fully prepared to have every single object on display pointed out to her.

Dear Diary:
I finally feel pregnant. I’m getting fat, my feet hurt, and I can smell everything. Worst of all I’ve been craving the weirdest foods. Like sweets. I hate sweets as a general rule, but for some reason unknown to me I’ve been craving vanilla iced cupcakes and chocolate martinis.
But even I know better than to drink while pregnant, so I’ve been getting virgin martinis which are basically watered down milkshakes. I miss caffeine more than I can say, but every time I try to drink it my tummy hurts.
This can so not be my kid if it can’t handle a little bit of caffeine. It’s my life blood.
I think I’ll ask the doctor about the caffeine/cravings when I go in to see him latter this week. I’m really looking forward to finally meeting Dr. Syrie. All of the ladies at the clinic sat he’s really nice . . . and good looking. I don’t care if he looks like a troll (okay, that’s a lie). . . just so long as he helps get my poo-flinger into the world safely!
The only good thing I’ve found so far about starting to get fat is the clothes! I’ll admit I’ve always been a bit of a clothes whore, but some of the maternity outfits are just too cute. They’re all loose and frilly and very, very feminine. I found the most awesome pajamas ever too! They’re yellow and have a little chicky face on them and are super soft! They even came with a matching pair of chick slippers~!
Too. Cute. For. Words!

[Magical Maybe's] - - Reading/Finnishing Harry Potter Book 7((Warning: Please note, this solo RP was inspired by Kaioto_Katsuma and CONTAINS SPOILERS for Harry Potter and the Deahtly Hallows. If you have not read HP&DH and don't want the ending ruined, please skip this entry~! Thank you.)) Eden sighed as she finally closed the heavy volume. Three days of reading and it was through, Harry Potter was over. Sure, she could reread the novels again any time she desired, but it wouldn’t ever be the same. She now knew how it all ended. Resting her hands on her bulging tummy she though back on the book, and smiled at the range of emotions it had stirred up in her. Everything from joy and triumph to sadness and a deep longing had been at the peek of her emotional state. Then again, she was pregnant, so she’d been getting used to changing emotions lightening fast. She had enjoyed the novel thoroughly. But part of her, a deep sad part; was miserable and more than a little jealous of Harry. He’s conquered his demons, yes; and not without loss. Something she herself had had to face. And like him she’d had someone standing by her side, helping her and forcing her onward, never letting her give up. But whereas many of Harry’s somebody’s had lived, lived and thrived, hers had died. More than that, she was jealous of one thing above all others, the resurrection stone. Harry had it, he’d used it and been given strength, support, and hope by those whom he loved who’d passed on. It was something she longed for. She wanted, more than anything, to have some magic that could bring Trent back, if even for a few moments, so that she could tell him everything. She wanted to tell him how she loved him, how she’d always loved him, and how she really was happy to be carrying a little piece of him inside of her. She sighed as she turned the heavy novel over in her hands. All had ended well for Harry’s story. He’d lived happily ever after. So maybe. . . just maybe. . . she could too.

 Dear Diary:
I’m getting on toward the end of my pregnancy, and I’m as big as a house! I kind of enjoyed being pregnant in the beginning, but now I just want it to end. I want my baby here safely, with minimal fuss. I want to be able to hold that tiny being that’ll be the only link I have left to Trent.
I often wonder what Trent would think if he could see me the way I am now. I’ve come to terns with the fact that he probably didn’t impregnate me purposely, but in many ways I glad things have turned out the way they did. . .
In other news, Thorn seems to be adjusting well to his new home. If anyone had told me a year ago I’d be a has-been Fire Warden living in the suburbs of Barton with a pet dragon and a fatherless baby on the way I’d have told them they were crazy.
My, how the mighty have fallen.

[Djinn Touched] - - Eden's Encounter with the Djinn Ingrid
Eden lay on her back on her bed, allowing her beautiful peach pant suite to become more and more wrinkled with each passing moment, she had the urge to cry. Spending the afternoon with the Wardens could do that to a person, and Wardens were not kind to people of left their ranks with their powers intact.
She lay there wanting to cry, yell, scream, and mourn; she wanted to purge herself of all the sick and constant feeling that had lingered within her from the moment she realized that Trent was gone.
“I’m not sure I can handle this anymore.” She told the ceiling. “I’m not even sure I want to be me anymore.”
“If you’re not you, then who would you be?” A silky voice irrupted her almost crying fit for a chair across the room. Eden turned her head and laid eyes on the one ‘person’ she so did not want to deal with at the moment.
“Go away, Ingrid.” She sighed, closing her eyes against the world.
“Can’t do that, little bird.” The lady djinn smiled wickedly, showing off gleaming teeth.
“Can’t or won’t?” Eden muttered through clenched teeth, Ingrid raised an eyebrow.
“Is that any way to talk to someone who’s here to help you?” She asked, inspecting her perfectly manicured nails.
“You can’t help me.” Eden told her sitting up and scooting across the bed to prop against the headboard. “David told me himself, there is nothing more the djinn can do.”
“But there are things I can tell you. . . things that you need to know. For your own sake,” Ingrid’s face split into a wide grin. “and for the baby’s.”
Eden frowned deeply. So the djinn knew; she wasn’t sure how, but they’d figured it out. Crap. Then again, she’d probably have been more surprised if the djinn hadn’t known what was going on; they were usually pretty well informed.
“What can you tell me that I don’t already know?” Eden wondered aloud. As part of her training to receive a djinn partner she’d learned everything the Wardens knew about the race . . . then again it seemed the Wardens didn’t know a whole lot. Her pregnancy proved that.
“What if I told you your lover wasn’t really dead?” Ingrid asked with a malicious grin. Eden was too shocked by the statement to even object to the term “lover”. After spending a moment composing herself, she looked at the djinn sternly.
“I’d say you were lying, but I could ask you three times just to be sure.” Ingrid’s smile faltered a bit, as her eyes flashed with anger. No djinn liked being reminded of the rule of three. “Besides,” Eden continued, ignoring the woman’s response, “I know he’s dead. I felt him die.”
“You felt his essence leave, yes.” Ingrid replied, recomposing herself. “And in a way you felt him die, but by djinn standards he is alive, a sort of djinn half-life, powerless; but only just, and not for very much longer.”
“Not for very much longer? Why? How do I get him back?” Panic crept into Eden’s voice, and a thin smile lingered on Ingrid’s lips.
“There is nothing you can do for him. Nothing can save him any longer. But he has something left to do for you.” Eden’s panic turned to despair; once again he was so close, but still a million miles away.
“What can he do for me? You yourself said he was powerless.” Eden pondered aloud.
“He can die.”
“How can him dying for real help me?” Eden felt like screaming, but couldn’t make the words into a scream; instead they became a menacing mutter. “Djinn are creatures born of fire and death; therefore, for your child to come into this world someone, some Djinn, will have to die.” Ingrid smiled bitterly. “It only makes scene that that Djinn be Trent.”
Eden bit her bottom lip as her eyes filled slowly with tears. Dead. For real dead. Ingrid had been cruel to do this, to give her a tiny shred of hope, and then tear it away before Eden even had a chance to savor it. Finally, after many long moments, Eden signed long and low.
“What must I do?”
“Nothing. When the time comes, he will come to you.” Ingrid paused, she appeared to be thinking deeply. “I don’t agree with this, but I’ve been commanded to offer you Djinn protection, over you and the baby, until the time of its birth.” Eden looked wary, and with good reason the Djinn rarely did anything for free.
“Why?” She wondered out loud.
“Why?” Ingrid laughed. “Perhaps because Djinn babies are so rare that the higher-ups will do anything to protect one? Or maybe because if your precious Wardens ever found out we can breed then our entire race could be at stake? You shouldn’t ask stupid questions, and you should take the protection.”
“Fine.” Eden said hastily. “I accept your protection. Now what?”
“Come closer to me.” Ingrid whispered. “You’ll probably live to regret this.”
Eden moved from her perch on the bed, to stand closer to the lady djinn, wary of her ever movement. But Ingrid didn’t spring for attack of show the other woman any outward signs of spite, she simply laid her hand on Eden’s belly, and mutter something under her breath.
It was a language Eden could not understand, a language of fire and power, and she had heard it spoken only once before. When Trent died, he had muttered it to her then. Tears filled her eyes and a sudden warmth filled her entire body. It pulsed and flowed around the tiny life she held within her. Ingrid moved her hands and the warmth was gone from every portion except where her baby lay nestled in her womb.
“There.” The djinn nodded at her work. “You are protected, very little will hurt you know. But I still don’t suggest you go play in traffic.” And with that she disappeared just as quickly and quietly as she’s come. Leaving Eden alone with the thoughts or her child and the memories of the one she’d lost.
