Decision to Adopt
Kinnie, or more formally known as Sarah Veison, sat upon the bed and let her mind wander. She had a job as a teacher's aid at the local junior college. But, other than work, she was bored. She did not have a lot of friends, family, or any children. She so wanted a good friend or spouse or even to adopt a child but she doubted this would happen as she was very shy, even if it was only before you got to know her... and besides to adopt they did not like single parents did they? So, she'd just have to make due with herself for a while. But still, she was very lonely and sad.She picked up a flyer for an adoption agency, The Cabbage Patch. It talked about the children and adoption, and most of the average stuff adoption agencies included. Although, Kinnie had seen these before this one caught her eye. She wasn't sure why or how, but it did. She decided she would need to question around and find out what this agency was like.
That time seemed to be in the next week or so. Since she worked at a school, she had a bit of opportunity, so she decided to take the chance. She looked to a young, thin girl with that natural frizzy curly red hair pulled into a ponytail. Although she was pretty, you could tell she was shy, her head was down and she had her arms crossed around herself. Kinnie decided she would talk to her, she looked nice. "Hello," she said patting the girl's shoulder lightly. She gave a timid grin before continuing. "Do you know anything about this adoption agency?" Kinnie held out the paper to the girl before lowering her head.
"Well, I've only heard of it..." She paused looking over the paper cautiously. "but it seems nice. Why?"
Kinnie frowned at the girl. "Oh, I was just wondering. But what have people said?"
The red-head looked at Kinnie and shrugged. "Well, of course, like with all things, some people brought it down but the people who've adopted kids were all happy!" The first part of the sentence was obviously meant to make her look smart.
"Well, al right, thanks." Later that day, Kinnie walked home, thinking of the adoption agency. At first, she told herself no, not enough time or not enough money but then she told herself yes. She was lonely and a baby or child would love her... plus she wasn't getting younger and the longer she waited the harder it would be. So, she decided to go and see about a walk in and if that did not work then she could just make an appointment.
