Well, at least she meant well. Both plans backfired; she couldn't even move the massive man, and he just looked at her like she had three heads. Meanwhile, recoiling from her action, she was suddenly taken off balance by the other Faceless, who grabbed her by the waist, pretty tightly...she felt puny in his hand...
He had her. There was no confusing that. Now, what to do with his "catch of the day"...hmm...

Amanda thrashed and kicked in the arms of this creature. His hands were cold and strong on her waist. If he grasped any tighter, he'd split her in two.
Amanda was getting desperate. Every plan backfired, and she was getting nowhere.
Why didn't she just go to her meeting?
Determined to get out of there, she attempted to kick the man holding her. She jumped high and tried to free herself from his grasp. Blood from her arm was everywhere and the smell was starting to make her gag.
She cried out for help again. "HELP HELP HELP HELP HELPPP!!!!"
Was nobody listening? Where was the stupid sniper that can't aim? Maybe he could help.

God...you were...getting weaker...his grip tightened...you felt woozy...this sucked...
Just as all the pretty lights started to go out...you heard a voice.
"You're coming with us, little princess. Heh heh..."
Daddy....help...
[Black out. Allow a few hours before resuming play.]

Ugh...her body ached all over...it hurt to even open her eyes...but she eventually did so, however reluctantly...
She felt like she hadn't truly arisen from her dreams, and the room spun in some light hypnogogic daze...but she could make out some surroundings...
She was in an office. Shelves decorated with probably unopened books, old picture frames, molding around the lower and bottom edges of the olive-colored walls...a...what was that again...oh yeah...desk...
She was sitting in some kind of pivoting chair, and had to right it a few times before snapping to attention at the sound of a man's voice.
"Amanda."
Whoah! Something blurry whirled around behind the mahogany receptacle in front of her, and a handsome, tanned older man suddenly appeared before her eyes. At least...he probably was older...she couldn't tell yet...
"Amanda? You're awake! Good. Now we can get down to business. Amanda, I'm going to ask you a few questions about you...your father, and your...well. I'll just start at the beginning, okay?"
Man. He was wasting no time, huh?
"Have you ever heard of...Subania, dear?"
He was holding out a wooden clipboard, reading its contents intently, pen raised to the ready. Was she being surveyed...? Would there...be ponies? So tireddd....

Her head was throbbing and she couldn't think straight; how was she expected to answer question after question?
What did she know about Subania? Plenty, she was on her way to a conference on the topic afterall. But before she would even think about giving out information, she needed to know where she was.
She attempted to look directly at the man. Her eyes were heavy and her whole body slumped to one side. She tried to straighten up. She looked the man in the eye.
"I think I should be the one asking questions. Who are you, and where the hell am I?"

He was seated rather comfortably in his black leather chair...behind his cozy little desk...
He was definitely at least 50 years old...sunken eyes, freckled, wrinkled tan skin, white hair...at least he looked like he was in good shape. That was cool. He didn't really look all that menacing. Just rich. Really, really rich.
He smirked, taken aback by the girl's spunk.
"Heh. Little miss big shot, eh? How's your arm, there, Wonder Woman?"
It did kinda hurt...she saw that her whole forearm was completely wrapped in tight white dressing. That was weird...kinda made her look like a mummy. On the other hand, she wasn't a geyser anymore...
The man continued, happy with the "princess"'s shock.
"My name is Jona. Jona Watson. I'm the...owner and proprietor of this hotel. I also run communications between our offices and those of...other esteemed corporations. You're still in the hotel, so don't worry. This is simply my...office. You know, where I take care of business. Like you. I believe you know what I'm looking for here...but I'll let you guess, sweetheart."
He leaned closer...scotch definitely on his breath...
"Why do you think I didn't kill your a** the first chance I got?"

Amanda didn't like this man.
"Why did you capture me in the first place, and why did killing me ever cross your mind? Seems like some low business for a....hotel manager, was it? And what about the men who tried to kill me, are they simply your bellhops?"
Amanda was getting mad. Now, she really really wished she'd gone to her meeting.

Jona liked this girl.
"My goal is to keep everyone...at peace. Something goes wrong, I handle it. Anyone steps in, I handle them. End of story. This is my hotel. The fact that a local owner of a coveted small business simply...decided to commit suicide...is not my problem...Brats like you are. Let me tell you, I went to a lot of trouble to detain that woman...especially to make myself look like that poor, hideous thing...George, I think he was called? Good riddance. Anyways, sorry for rambling. Listen. I would have killed you, like anyone else threatening my authority, but you're different. You're a Rozen. YOU can get me what I want...or, we can go the hard way. That is...you do know what the hard way is, right?
I'll give you a hint. It starts with "r" and ends in "ansom", and somehow involves a little...rumor you know all too much about..."
Heh. Little b***h. Soon, he'd have half of New York under his belt. One way or another.

Amanda started to realize that being a Rozen gets you into some serious trouble.
Amanda sighed.
"Yes, I know quite a bit about Subania. Whats it to you?"

"Oh, I'm not concerned in what you may claim to know, or even if you believe it exists. I want to know if your father does. Speaking of, let's get to the details of the ransom. There are two requests. Simple. Easily done. Not by me, of course. I need him to convince three New York businesses to switch their full support from his empire to this hotel. I'm sure he won't even notice the difference in cash flow. You may have heard of them? Cisco, Aetna, and BioGE are the ones I'm talking about. Need to keep things...running smoothly over here, you know. Fancy hotels need fancy things. Finally, I need him to sign an irreversible peace treaty with this hotel and the surrounding 1 mile radius, including underground constructs. Heh. Can't have him going ballistic for no apparent reason, now can we? This way, he'll know not to strike his oh-so-favorite hotel when, say, in the middle of a war, or something...?
Dear, I know this is all rushing to your little head, but try to stay with me here. Your father must, I repeat, must meet these demands. Soon. Unless, that is, he doesn't want to see his precious little Amanda again?"
His eyes toyed with your heart strings as he laid out the details of the ransom. She was in deep s**t. No doubt about it.

Should she do it? Should she help get her father to sign the treaty and meet all this man's requirements? She did want to live...
But then again, she knew it was wrong. She knew that her actions now could affect thousands of people down the road.
Amanda asked in a disgusted tone."What do you mean, war? And why does my father's belief in Subania matter?"
Amanda tried to free herself again. She was feeling the anger build up.
She hated making decisions.

Amanda looked around at the room as she attempted to gain time. She desperately tried to free either her hands or her feet.
She saw a big, dark spider crawl up the wall, and she envied it's freedom to go where it pleases. Amanda looked around and noticed plenty of other bugs on the walls and floors too. Hmm...strange.
Amanda looked at the man, and tried to remember the old tricks her father used to teach her about recogizing a liar. Did, they flick their eyes to the left, or to the right...?
She didn't even have to know tricks to judge this guy's character. He was cold, mean. He had one idea in mind, and no consideration for others. He was the kind of man to cause havoc, and she wouldn't have a part in it. She refused to give in.
"You've got the wrong girl. I'm not telling you a damn thing. Keep me here for the rest of eternity, but I'm not talking."
Oh god, please let her think of something before the end of eternity.

His eyes looked with sorrow onto hers...locked in a state of silent apology and myth...
"Then goodnight, sweetheart."
SLAM!
With tremendous brevity, he ran his fist through her temple, spilling her brains out onto the green-carpeted floor. The room was on fire, and he seemed to dance a satanic jig around her mutilated corpse as the lights dimmed around her...
She was drowning...
Where were...the elephants...?
I need to fly.
