"Ignorant little thing...!" Leraje let out a string of curses as he stumbled backwards. His opponent managed to get him good in the leg, but not enough to fully immobilize the dragoon.
A pained expression played on the unicorn's lips, only to be over-shadowed by the simple chant. The katars resting in able hands began to glow and melt away. Rivière slipped into the form of a one-handed blade this time.
To show that Kaine's attack didn't do that much, the unicorn let loose a forward stab based on the leg that was freshly injured. Blinded and powered by pride.

"I'm the ignorant one?" Kaine grinned, easily dodging the blade's strike. Getting one hit in might not be winning the lottery, but it was enough to rile him up even more. Seeing the expression on his opponents face was an added bonus. Still cocky, he lashed out with his right arm, planning to jam his full weight and spiked adornments against the unicorns thigh area. He was not used to weak spots in armor so he would just have to find them piece by piece~

Leraje was starting to become actually irritated with this brawler. Almost not expecting the sharp pain that now entered a weakspot along the inside of his thigh. It wasn't Kaine that actually got there, oh no, it was a damn spike that happened to chance that spot.
Gritting his teeth, the staggering Dragoon slashed downwards towards the rather close fighter, hoping to chance that he was able to recover in time before the kitsune managed an escape.

"You're panicking .... like a rabbit with nowhere to run. This is not.. fun.. anymore..."
Kaine jumped back, seeing the rather sharp blade come towards his head. Narrowly escaping it, he jumped back to his position and took his stance. His arms were layed outward, then slashes downwards in an "x" position at the staggering unicorn.

The slash proved useless as it scraped agaisnt a deflecting parry from the dragoon's sword. Green eyes were in a glaring squint, as their owner took a deep breath and exhaled it slowly.
"What can you expect? When one seems to be on the top of his game only to get the bottom pulled out from under him, ofcourse he's going to get a tad bit nervous."
Leraje, recovering with his cool, kept his sword horizontal to the ground. Then at a sudden instant, charged forth, swinging the sword back, then quickly forward in a momentum filled slash that would and could take down an oak with ease.

Cut against his chest, Kaine was pushed further back. No grimace, just a grin lay across his face. "Perhaps you just needed encouragement, poor thing" While he was resistant to most physical attacks, the last blow shook him up a bit. Still, he tried finding his footing once more realizing he still needed to quickly made a return blow. Stumbling a bit at first, he rushed over to his opponent and slid down. Slamming his leg into the others at full force was a bit drastic given the options, but it was a sudden idea.

"Poor thing? I'm not the one covered in my own blood." He returned Kaine's grin with one of his own, smiling at the fact that he found quite the opponent.
Leraje kept his sword dangling at one side, no tension, no sloth, just a neutral kind of hold. The tip of the blade was swaying slightly above the ground, dripping crimson droplets. He stood there, unmoving with eyes closed lightly.
As soon as Kaine's hit happened, Leraje let out a small 'unf' but stood his ground. His sword swinged back and then sliced forth towards the attacker.

Kaine willingly stepped back this time, feeling the blade slice into him once more.
"No.. cause you hide behind metal like a coward" he stared into Leraje's eyes for the first time since the fight had started. Leraje, a name he finally acknowledged. "My blood has spilled many times... it does not phase me anymore. You, despite the fact you are bound to this earth like I .. will never understand me"
With both arms extended, Kaine pushed aimed both sets of claws at Leraje's mid-section.

"Don't stereotype my appearance, I wear this armor not for the protection, but for the pride it holds." Leraje gritted his teeth, but kept an even smile, "I probably won't completely understand you, but we are still kin hidden underneath our appearances."
Leraje chanted again and Rivière shifted once more, taking on the form of a pair of knuckles studded lightly with spikes.
Emerald eyes caught the charging fox. In response, Leraje's tired legs sidestepped as he prepared a punch into the incoming kitsune.

He tried to side-step but tripped, getting knocked hard by Leraje's punch. Kaine coughed a bit of blood. Getting punched like that was indeed surprising. He was getting annoyed at his opponents ability to change his weapon, it seemed like a useless ability in his eyes. He would rather fight with no strings attached~
"Pride?" he muttered, using one paw to wipe away the blood from his face. "Pride from material .. never really did interest me the slightest bit"
Coughing one more time, he lunged once more at Leraje. When all else fails Kaine usually relies on instincts. He wanted those tired little legs of the unicorn to finally give out~

Leraje appreciated this guy for his endurance, but hated him for his arrogance. He shook his right fist lightly before pulling it back to prep for another jab.
"I'm no hermit who relinquishes his posessions." His left arm raised to face Kaine. His hand cracking into a slightly clawed position.
He sidestepped again to avoid Kaine's lunge, quickly jabbing out with his right with its charged up tension.

"Then why are you getting so riled up at my comments?" Kaine couldn't begin to see why people wore armor. It wasn't that he was mad for having to pry it apart to be able to fight his way. it was because he was used to seeing it as a weakness instead of anything else. He sighed, noticing the charged up hand. He wasn't in the mood to get hit with something so ... powered up. Quickly dashing out of the way he then retaliated with a motion to jab on his own. With blood dripping from his paw he lashed out. Not with the bracelet this time.. instead with the bare side of his arm. He was sturdy for a little rascal one should say. He didn't mind attacking with his own body, it in fact was his choice~

Leraje's punch flew right past the elusive kitsune, only to be impacted with his arm. It was a solid hit that shook the very armor Leraje was proud of. The unicorn coughed a bit, for Kaine had knocked the air out of him.
"Well, wouldn't you get irritated if someone insulted your pride?" he took a breath, then took another quick jab at Kaine.

"Pride? Let me demonstrate why I continue to fight despite my odds. It is not for pride, it's for survival" he winced, thinking about what got him in this state in the first place. The jab that then knocked him aside was barely seen. "Bah.. " he straightened his posture, trying to find his footing for the umpteenth time today it seemed. Swaying, he leapt at Leraje, both blood and tensed muscles covering his arms and claws.
