Nomia shook her head just a little. "Sorry, I should stay here so I could at least keep my eye on Lethe." she looked back out towards the water, essentially pulling her chin from Alturious' hand, and seen the naiad's head still. It wasn't like her to sit still for so long, so her curiosity was piqued a little. She tried to keep one eye on Lethe and one on Alturious. "I will find a way to get even with her... I just ... I don't know." she closed her eyes and shook her head, her long braid falling over one shoulder now. She wanted to relax, but was having a hard time doing so. She pulled her knees up closer to her and turned a little towards Alturious, expecting him to shrug and leave.
Lethe didn't know how to respond to being pulled down by this kid, but it happened quick enough she didn't have time to protest. Besides, Nomia was mad at her, so best to stay in the water.
"You's one strange kiddo." she blurted, looking at him like he had 2 heads. It was hard to tell if she was just daft, or not wanting to understand.

Alturius nodded his head and moved a fair bit, making it so he was behind Nomia. He placed his hands gently on her shoulders, and started to work them. "Wow, you're really tense..." He chuckled as his fingers started to work into her shoulders slowly. He decided to start slow, it wouldn't do to hurt her.
"You must really be stressed out,"
Once they reached his hiding spot Zale pointed at it then at himsefl. "Zale," He said. "h-h-h-om," He said trying really hard to work it out having heard it before.

The act in and of itself caused Nomia to tense...not relax. She was NOT used to some stranger putting his hands on her. She leaned forward a bit, trying to pull away from him, but not wanting to seem rude or anything. Glancing over her shoulder, she answered him. "I am tense. And stressed out. You try keeping a bratty child of a rare race alive." she laughed a little and scooted herself forwards, trying to be subtle about it.
Lethe laughed, "Oh! I gets it. Yer mute!" she cupped her hands over mouth and nodded. "Nomia says she wishes I was." she mumbled from behind her hands, not realize it was incredibly rude to mock the kid.

Alturius noticed the stuble message, and kept his hands off for now, moving back to the side of her again and watching her. "That sounds like one hell of a chore, you must be extremely skilled, or patient. I don't think I'd have it in me." He smiled and bowed his head, chuckling a little. "Heck I can barely stand kids as it is, they're really noisy and a pain in the a** more often than not, thankfully I haven't really had to do too much with them," Keeping his hands in his lap, he tried to rethink his strategy... This wasn't working at all... What was up?
"So... How did you come by having to take care of a child all by your lonesome?"
Zale nodded quickly and smiled. Yes! Yes! He was mute! It was wonderful that she finally got it. He didn't really realize she was mocking him, having never expeianced it before, so he wasn't offended at all by it.

Nomia relaxed, seeing he removed his hands to his own personal space finally. She let out a long breath, not quite a sigh, but a visible sign she was relaxing. She thought for a moment, how to answer his question. "She ... is my responsibility. Always has been." she spoke in a somber tone, looking out over the water. "She's not always bad... just more lately she is." She decided to not delve into why he didn't like kids. To each their own, yanno?
"Alturius, what brought you to the beach today." she asked, trying to take focus of her, so she wouldn't get trapped into talking about stuff she didn't want to.
"Zale... I guess that name fits you." Lethe said nonchalantly as she looked around the place he brought her to. She floated around and pushed on a few rocks to see how solid they were and moved a few strands of kelp from out of her way. "This where you live?"

Alturius chuckled. "You'll probably laugh but... I came here to think about how best to take over the world..." His tone implied that he was joking, but he knew he wasn't. And to be honest, he didn't mind letting the whole isle know his plans, they would sooner or later, and at this point, if a rival popped up, it would be worth knowing now instead of then.
"I'm going to be king someday..." He said, chuckling. "Well, if I have my way that is... I think it would be a good thing for the isle..."
Zale smiled and nodded, pointing at the shelf that was his usual hiding spot. He would have to move when he grew, but for now it fit him and probably another easy, the kelp was his food source for teh moment, since he sucked at catching fish...

Nomia admittedly didn't know how the land pae'il worked. She'd never considered any form of 'leadership' from them, as she'd never seen any. She only ever know of the Guardians, and they didn't arm her with much info. And given that she was originally from the bottom of the lake, she didn't get a chance to observe much of the life of the pae'il in her former life anyway.
"So you are the destined to rule this island?" she questioned... something didnt' seem right about a king... "The Guardians chose you?"
Lethe shook her head. "Its dark here. You come play up with me." she grabbed his hand and started pulling back towards the surface. She didn't like being under the water so deep anyway, having grown up close to the surface. "I show you some fun things." she smiled, looking towards the kid.

Alturius let his head fall back and he laughed, he laughed so hard that he actually fell over. Once he was able to catch his breath enough to speak he sighed and wiped his eyes. "Hahaha... No... The Guardian's didn't chose me... even if they exist... I'm not even sure they do and if they do they're a bunch of useless hacks..." He chuckled a bit more. "No, I do this on my own because I think it woudl benefit the isle if I ruled it... Maybe I'll succeed, maybe I won't, I've got some stiff competition... Maybe I'll get halfway through and decide it's just not worth it... I don't know... but it's worth a shot," He smiled at her and chuckled. "Right now... I'm just... me, Alty..."
Zale smiled and nodded at Lethe, letting her lead him. He was very excited, he had a friend! Now all he had to do was get the whole talking thing down... So he listend and watched to see how Lethe did it.

Nomia just quirked a brow and watched Alturious laugh himself silly. When he'd seemed to calm down a bit, she decided to respond. "Oh they exist alright...I wish they didn't." She couldn't believe she just said that outloud. She'd thought it for so long... but to be said alloud? Her expression drooped a little bit. "Well, good luck ... " she didnt' know what else to say.
Lethe led him up till she broke the surface. She spun around looking for Nomia and upon spotting her, started leading Zale towards the part of the beach her big sister wasn't occupying. "Dis way, kiddo. Avoid the one with the sparkles. She has a loud voice." she warned.

Alturius smiled. "I see... well... thanks for the luck... You know, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who isn't all that hot on the Guardians..." He reached out and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, if you ever need anything come hit me up, just ask around for Alturius, or head over to the other side of the lake... You'll find me..." He smiled and patted her shoulder a bit, then pulled his hand away.
"So, what could we do that could cheer you up a bit huh? Nobody deserves to be down,"
Zale nodded and swam after Lethe, letting her lead the way. Personally he hated loud things, specially big loud things, so he was more than happy to stay away from Nomia. Though he didn't like being on the surface of the water, because now anything could see him!

Nomia stretched her legs out in front of her and wiggled her toes a little while thinking on how to answer Alturius' question. "I ... app..." she wanted to thank him for the offer, but couldn't think of the word. app... app... it was on the tip of her tongue. Stupid Guardian's ... cutting her speaking lessons short by forbidding her from seeing Estra... she silently cursed them and closed her eyes and took a small breath. "Thank you for the offer." she said.
"Well, unless you can turn back time, I'm sure there's not much we could do." By this time, she spotted Lethe again, skirting the water with a kid in tow. She furled her brow a little, focusing on the kids. They are up to something...
Lethe kept Nomia in her peripheral vision the whole time, making landfall several yards away. "C'mon kiddo!" she tugged his arms still. She knew that once she got out of the water, her tailfin would change to legs, so she took for granted others with tails knew that.

Alturius chuckled. "The moment I figure out how to do so you'll be the first person I hit up," He smiled and bowed his head, his tone warm but serious. Following her gaze, he chuckled. "They seem to be mulitplying, you gonna go after them?"
Personally he didin't want to get invovled.... but if it helped his case...
Zale nearly froze when they hit land... He wasn't sure his fin would work... but once he touched the sand... He looked down.
Legs?
He took two clumbsy steps and wavered a bit, but soon he had the hang of not swimming, though he felt like he was going to fall any second now.

Nomia chuckled lightly. "thanks."
Glancing towards the kids, she shook her head. "No ... once they hit the water, they're impossible to catch. So its pointless to chase. Just keep your eyes on them. The girl... is tricksy....the boy, I have never seen before..."
Lethe was too busy sneaking up the sand, trying to find cover so that her and her new friend could plot. "Zale, we's gonna hide beind that wood there." she pointed towards some driftwood a few yards away. "hurry slowpoke!"

Alturius chuckled. "Eh it's no biggy, I'll just keep an ear out, I'm sure something like that will turn up eventually..." Hell there is a Pae that glows for the love of Guardians! "Ah, that's right you said that earlier, I'll remember that... Maybe you should get a leash for her," He chuckled, shaking his head. "I could probably hook you up with one if I tried..."
Zale nodded and tried to hurry, but his legs didn't like moving fast, so he fell a few times, it wasn't pleasnet, but with each fall he was learning better and better how NOT to do that. Finally he managed to get a decent pace, and it didn't take him long to Join Lethe at the wood. He looked at her and smiled. He wondered what was next.

Nomia looked confused for a minute at Alturius. "What is a ...leash?" yeah, certain things just had not been taught to her. But the way he said it, it sounded like it might help.
Lethe huffed and puffed alittle to catch her breath while she waited for Zale. Boy that kid was slow! "Okay slowpoke... now we's gotta figure out what to do to Nomia. She will scream loud, but if'n ya don't like that, we just go in da water and its not so loud." she picked up a stray stick and started scribbling on the sand. "She don't like stuff on her... da squiddie was a good thing, but I did that already." She pointed towards Nomia, and kept talking. "Da goo on her face is from da squiddie." she giggled. She didn't know if he understood her, nor did she care. Most times, she just rambled when talking anyway.
