Ms. Wincrest picked up the stack of papers and placed them on the desk next to Cynthia's and sat down. She handed half the papers to her and a red pen along with the answer sheet. "Thanks for helping me, I always forget to grade papers until the last minute." She laughed a little embarassed. "I can get a little lazy..."

"I wish I was lazy...I always stay up just to finish my work without any breaks." Cynthia said. She starts gradeing the papers.

Ms. Wincrest let out a small laugh and worked on her papers. "By the looks of it, you got the highest score on the test in the whole class. You're probably going to get the highest paying job out there and I'll be stuck here teaching." she laughed.

Cynthia smiles, "Well, I hope not, I like to have a nice lay back job where I can mess up once in a while." she said.

Ms. Wincrest tucked the her pen behind her ear and rested her chin in her hand as she watched Cynthia continue to grade the papers. "Taking it easy is good...so if you really want a lay back job, I suggest not being a teacher." she let out a small laugh. "You have a lot of papers to grade, classes to plan and goof balls and trouble makers to put up with, but then again if your lucky, you have a student that makes it all worth while."

Ms. Wincrest still smiling answered. "Mm-hmm, and she's really nice and comes to school early, and she's helping me out. Cynthia, you are that student that makes it worth being a teacher." She wanted to brush some of the hair out of Cynthia's face, but thought not to and just shifted in her seat, repositioning her chin in her palm, eye's still watching Cynthia grade the slowly fading stack of papers.

"Cynthia..." Before she could finish speaking, voices filled the hall outside, droning into the classroom. Ms. Wincrest's smile faded as she stood up from the desk. "Thanks for helping me grade the papers, Cynthia." she said and she picked up the graded papers from the desks. "I'll write your extra credit down in a minute."

Cynthia smiles and bows, "No problem." she said. She goes to her seat, in the front row and is straight across from the teacher''s desk.

Ms. Wincrest neatly stacked the papers on her desk and turned around and flashed a smile at Cynthia. "You were such a great help, do you mind helping me after class? I'm trying to arrange a poetry class and I need someone as bright and cute as you to help get the word out."

"Thanks, your such a great help. Why don't you help me come up with a poster for it?" Ms. Wincrest spoke and she walked over to Cynthia and sat down next to her.

"Oh yeah!" Ms. Wincrest let out a slightly embarrased laugh and she rubbed the back of her neck. "They should have some in the copy room in the teachers lounge. Would you mind coming with me to get some?"
