"Yes, and maybe we can find a pack we can both join... we should atleast try to find one early in our adolescent phase..." Kyu spoke gently as he sat up and spit the bone of of his mouth and turned to Ati. He gazed up at the sky, the sun was still high, so they ahd time to find shelter. Kyuu walekd to the water and took a long drink before he turned back to Ati and gave him a curious look. "Need anything else before we leave?" Truth betold, Kyuu wasn't even sure where the pair of them were. He assumed they were far from the coast as he saw no large body of water cutting off the land from the sun to sunset, or sunrise.

Ati nodded and quickly went and took a long drink from the stream before smiling at Kyuu, all of his energy returning to him suddenly. He felt alive again! Like he was going to make it through life and everything would be alright! And that was a nice feeling, to say the least, "Alright, I'm all set!"
He walked up beside Kyuu, stretching himself out, recovering from his earlier anguish, "I owe you a lot, Kyuu. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't come and helped me. Maybe we can join a pack together? Wait, you already said that," Ati shook his head, "I'm sorry... I've just never met another wolf, from outside my family, before."

"It's alright, lets just stick together... we can be friends... you'll be... like my brother..." Kyuu said softly as he turned and walked towards the edge of the forest that loomed a few meters from them. Kyuu really wasn't fond of the larger, denser parts of the forests, but he decided it was safer to hide in hallowed out logs, tree trunks and dug out dens, then sitting out in plain sight in a grassland. Kyuu was glad to have a companion though it was a bit odd though, he flet like he had to help this boy survive, to amke up for loosing his siblings. Maybe Kyuu could help Ati find his siblings if they still lived. That would make him feel at ease, he decided.

Ati nearly bounded after him, looking totally relaxed now, walking while looking at the sky above them, chuckling to himself, like he had his own private joke. He didn't, he was just happy to be traveling with someone again, "Yeah, I'd like that. I think we should just call each other brothers, you know? My mom said something about that. When you travel with someone long enough, they become your family. That's what packs are for."

Kyuu smiled gently and nodded. This other wolf seemed to perk up almost instantly, it startled Kyuu a bit, but he just acted casually. "Yes, that is what we should do soon, look for a pack..." He paused and looked around as they walked deeper into the woods, he was lookign for a tree with large roots they could dig a semi-den into. "Hey, it looks like theres one just there... er, a den I mean... lets check it out, I think its vacant... I can't smell anything..." Kyuukazan lowered himself slightly, and went forward. He moved almsot soundlessly, which was surprizing, due to his large build.

"Oh..." Ati wandered over to the den and sniffed it out, "This looks perfect! Let's sleep here for the night!"
He was glad he had met Kyuu. He was kind and strong. Ati, for the first time in a long time, felt like he could make it.

Kyuu nodded and managed to find some leaves to kick into the den to make the ground easier to sleep on. HE stayed awake most of the night, gazing up through the roots as the stars glittered brightly behind the tall trees and their wide limbs. "Good night Brother..." He said softly as the moon rose higher and Kyuu felt the day dissapear completely, not even the trace of a golden line on the horizon could be found.
