Fae looks up at link from over a cherry the size of her head, the fruit juice lighlty staining her cheeks. She nods, setting down her half eatten fruit, whiping off her hands and cheeks on a human sized napkin. As her wings start to flutter and she lifts off the table a soft glow encompases her body.

Link slowly walked out of the tavern. As he stopped for a stretch, he looked up at the sky. It had been a year, still no clues. All he has managed to do is fight off what seemed to always be following him. He looked up at Fae.
Well, I guess we should be....
Suddenly, something caught his eye. There were some objects in the sky. It looked like a.... Link's eyes grew wide as he realized that they were a bunch of flaming arrows. They began to land of the roofs of houses and buildings. Some guards ran toward the castle as others sealed the gates to the town. The civilians began to scream and run for cover. Link reached to his back and grabbed his shield. He brought it around just in time to block an oncoming arrow.
What...? What's going on?

Fae's eyes dart to the sky as the stars begin to fall, but they're not stars, the heavens rain down fiery death (cleche much?). She flitts to Link's other shoulder, an arrow passing where she use to be. Hiding slightly behind his shoulder she looks at the towns people, "Worry about what's happening later, what about the town?"

Link's eyes darted from side to side as he began to evaluate the situation. Most of the civilians had made it to shelter. The guards were preforming their duties for a crisis like this. After another moment, he dashed toward the nearest gate. He arrived just in time to hear a guard.
It's no good, they have a battering ram! We have to solidify the gate more and fast. There isn't much time!
Link went to run up the stairs to the wall when he was stopped by another guard.
Sir, we need all civilians to take cover.
Link shook his head.
I have a sword and shield. I can fight.
The guard moved in his way
No! Our orders are to...
SIR!!! They have reached the wall!!! It won't be long before that gate comes down!
The guard looked over at the other, then back to Link.
Fine, but don't say we didn't warn you if you get injured.
The guard ran over to the gate as Link made his way to the top of the wall. He gasped at the sight that awaited him. A hug army of goblins was amassed right outside the castle walls. From the looks of it, there was no way the whole army could fit inside the city. Who ever sent them, was serious about its demise.
How could this happen? An army this size should have been seen coming? How did they sneak up on the town like this?
Link continued to stare over the mass army as the gate began to take a beating. It wouldn't be long before they would be in the city. The only thing running Links head, was the question of how this could come so sudden? There was no warning. It was impossible for an army this size to just appear suddenly.

While Link talks, Fae looks over the side of the wall, her eyes drowning in the sea of monsterous bodies. She turns to look back over the town as Link finally sets eyes on the enemy. Her eyes run over the soldiers on the wall, at the gate, on the roads... She tries to think of how many would be at the castel still...out of sight... She mumbles to herself "Too many. Outnumbered, hundred to one."
She then turns to Link, landing on his shoulder. "Come on Hero. You can't run now.
Stop asking pointless questions and worry about the fight. All that matters is your sword and your life."

Link was about to use his bow when he noticed that the gate was just about to give. After a quick moment of thought, he ran back down the stairs. The gate had two or three more hits left in it, tops.
Fae, if you want, you don't have to be here. These are pretty bad odds on our half. If you want to fly off, I won't hold it against you. This isn't a place a fairy should be forced to be.
He drew his sword and shield, standing ready as the gate began to take it's late hits.

She smiles softly, almost sad, hovering right by Link's shoulder. "I want to be right here. I belong by yourside Link."
Mainly she'll just be an extra set of eyes, but that might be enough.

Link gave a slight smile. It was nice to have a good friend like her. Someone willing to stay with you even if the smart thing would be to leave. With one last slam, the gate came flying open. Link moved into a combat stance and waited for whatever was about to come in.
Thank you Fae. I promise I won't let anything happen to you.

Suddenly a sphere of wind appears and expands then vanishes revealing a man in green and brown robes with a large wide brimmed hat and a staff. A fairy also floats around him giving off a slight blue glow.
The man turns to the gate and sees Link and a band of guards waiting for the inevitable breach of the gate.
Link! How did this happen. Where did this horde come from?
Lore turns to the open gate goblins pouring in and arrows wizzing by.
Nevermind, there are more pressing matters to attend to at the moment.
Taking a step away from Link to give him room Lore reaches into his bag and pulls out a cone shaped seed and throws it at the wave of oncoming goblins. When it hits one it breaks and releases a small whirlwind that picks up and carries a couple goblins back over the wall and drops them onto their comrades.

Fae smiles softly at Link. He cared for her, like no one had. And she'd grown attached to him. She watches the doors intently till a man appears beside them. She arches an eyebrow at him. Link? He knows him? Link didn't tell me anything about a magic user.... She looks at the other fairy, almost shrinking away from her... Then a sickening crunching sound fills the square. THe gate caves in, wood splintering everywhere, hailing down on the guards even before the arrows can.
The goblins come in like a tidal wave, a full and swollen river when the damn breaks. They wash over the guards, quickly spilling out into the square, unhindered. There had to be more soldiers than this! Where were they? Where they fighting? Had they been overcome? Had they been swept away in the sea of bodies?
Fae's stomach dropped as she thought about Link in the middle of that. He had to survive. He had to.
But she just couldn't see how he was going to.

When the person appeared, Link turned to him in surprise. Then he noticed who it was and was even more in shock.
Lore? What are you.....
Link was about to say continue when the gate broke open. He turned and dashed into the sea of goblins, slicing and blocking as the seemingly endless waves continued to pour into the town

Xander let out a battle cry as he hurled his massive ball and chain dead center in the horde of goblins that breached the gates. As he yanked back on the chain, he noticed a young warrior amidst the battle, almost taking his nose off with the retrieval of his weapon. He called out to the warrior.
Sorry about that!
Maybe it's best not to take such a careless approach. With that, Xander unsheathed his sword and divulged himself into the battle, right along side the young warrior.

After nearly having his face taken off, Link blinked a couple times before blocking an oncoming attack. As the two warriors battled the sea of monsters, the gate continued to have a steady flow of goblins pouring in.
There is just no end to these. They seem to be endless?

Xander hacked and slashed his way through the sea of enemies. He smirked slightly at the warrior he was beside.
Where there is a beginning, there is an end...
He quickly retreated from battle, moments later seen perched up on a ledge. He whistled to grab the young man's attention, juggling three bombs about in his hands.
If you'd be so kind.
His eyes hinted at a torch that was affixed to the wall beneath him.

Fae stays by Link's side as best she can. As a goblin comes up behind Link, she uses her minor magic to catch the things scraggaly hair on fire.
She looks up at Xander, "Link! Look!" (think Navi)
