It seems to me that almost every Asian I know likes or is good at some form of art, whether it's CG, sketching, painting, sculpting, making things...
Anyone know why?
If you fit into this category, discuss what type of art you like/do. :]
ME;
I like computer graphics [CG] art, and I draw anime in my free time. I also like watercolors and sketching by hand.
kyina @ deviantART Most Asians in my university go into engineering or business majors. As for art, it's either Graphic Design, Architecture, Landscaping, Music, or Fine Arts.
[MEDIUMS]I enjoy using
graphite and
charcoal, and sometimes conte crayon, though the latter can be messy. I love using
cel vinyl paint since it dries up solid. I also like
acylic paint (mainly Liquitex) over watercolor since it can mix well and can be either transparent or solid.
[TYPES OF ART]I've tried drawing n***s, creating big posters, and the typical still life with paints, crayons, pencil, pastel, conte crayon, etc.
As for computer art, I use Photoshop, Illustrator, and Quark (I hate Quark
xp ). In the future I want to try Flash, Maya 3D, work on lettering and font.
[RESEARCH]It's not all creating in my major. I also have to study history on art and design, from ancient burial statues to modern-day IKEA. I even need to know the name of designers, architects, and the works they did and where they (the works) were made.
