As for L's voice, that is just that weird computer voice to cover up his voice right? Right? RIGHT? burning_eyes

It's obviously the computer voice. Even Viz isn't THAT dumb when it comes to dubbing.

I'm sure it won't be as bad as everyone is anticipating. Light's voice seems okay. I would have preffered a different voice actor (Chris Patent would have done awsomely), but this one isn't bad.

I can't wait 'till we get to hear L's REAL voice. (And Misa's. heart )

I'll have to hear Near's and Mello's voices, though. Unlike L, Light, and Misa, their voices will only be compared to the voices I mentally add when reading the manga. Although that can still be hard to beat sometimes.

I've only watched a little of the anime and I don't remember what their voices sounded like, but I also mentally add the voices. I've gotten used to the voices I gave them so now when I hear the dubs its so different from what I had in mind. Everybody must have a different idea about the voices though. Not everyone can be happy. crying

Totally excluding the fact that I'm a Japanophile, even though I enjoy many American things as well, I have to say that I am always 100% satisfied with the Japanese voices. I normally start out with manga and when I start watching the anime in Japanese the network distributing the anime always has a knack for getting the identical voice actors for each character, in reference to how I imagine their voices in my head, of course.

You know what, that is really true! eek I was just watching an episode on the internet and I had absolutely no problem with Light's or any other characters voice.

Just like I thought. The voices are terrible. I can only hope some of the voices will be good. Even so I'll still watch subbed.

Not that I expected it to be great, considering the only anime out of all I've seen where I've liked the dub better is Hellsing, but...

Ugh. gonk

Someone please go find Light's voice actor and kick him in the trachea.

Thank you.

Their voices are so perfect in the Japanese version... i___i Especially L's. I really doubt any English voice actor could really do him justice.

I worry for Mello and Near, though. One or both of them will probably end up sounding like they never hit puberty.

Well, actually, Near already sounds like that, but in Japanese, a woman's voice in anime can sound more androgynous than anything... English would make him sound like Ash from Pokemon. Or worse...

Naruto. O____O
