I actually don't know for sure how old it is to be honest. One of my friends had a spare one and he gave it to me. It's a 20GB one though and it doesn't have the colored screen. It does have a click wheel though.
And it could have gotten a corrupted file I guess. I haven't put anything on it in a long time though so that doesn't make too much sense if that is the problem. D:
The friend who gave it to me asked me if I heard it clicking at all and it was clicking before it died. He told me that the needle that reads it on the inside probably got knocked off and that's why it's not working now because it can't reset itself, so that's what he's going to do when he looks at it tomorrow. Check to see if that needle thing is the problem that is.
Hopefully it is. I got lots of music on that thing, lots more than I have on my computer. I'd be losing a lot of stuff. emo
Oh, and it's not under warranty anymore because he's had it for a couple years. But it's alright. I still got a smaller Nano one with 4GB. The only thing that will suck is trying to get all my music back again if I have to restore it.

I wish I had a smart friend that knew how to fix iPods. D:
I bet it got too old for it's own good...
Technology sucks like that, it's great one second, the next it's obsolete and dies on you.
Hopefully you don't lose anything though, that'd be nice.

Haha, yeah, honestly? It was good one second and then died the next. Just a few hours ago, I plugged it into my computer and it was very much alive and well, and then all of a sudden my iTunes froze and the iPod got that sad iPod icon on the screen. It was gone. emo
